Wow wow20 foot ceilings in this Historical Hotel B&B with variety of antique furnishings throughout the rooms lobby and hallways. So much rich culture of times past. Original wooden floors as they creak as you walk across the floor. Most rooms have carpet in bedrooms and tile in bathrooms so no creaking in most rooms. I was the first customer of day when I journeyed upon this tiny town of Post (CW Post the cereal guy) into Garza Hotel B&B. The kind lady at desk let me know all the rooms are open and each room key on side table .... I could go look to see how decor of each rooms' motif. Three rooms with King size beds downstairs and 8 + rooms up stairs have numerous size beds in vintage style rooms. Library that is rich with dark woods And books on shelf's. Located as you climb stairs before turning to second floor is a door that leads to library and a small dark wooden veranda that over looks dining and entrance of library. Large windows that look out to garden area of Hotel B&an. Very nostalgic !! Home cooked breakfast at 8:30-9:15am each morning. See photo. Bacon was delicious along with whole wheat bread toasted and scrambled eggs. Coffee or tea available along with juice, yogurt, fruit if the day or cereal. Room Prices are really very reasonable. Hospitality is kind and helpful. Questions just are folks are very willing to share their thoughts or information on their town of Post. Cheers! Each time we stop in Post we say "we should stay at that boutique hotel." Well, this time we did. The place is fun with lots of places to sit and relax. The bedroom was cozy with B+ for cleanliness. The chandler in the bathroom is a fun touch! We enjoyed hanging out in the library and outside area. The breakfast was eggs, bacon and toast. All tasty with better than average coffee. The city smells a west Texas Town with smell of money all around. We love restored old buildings and hotels. This is one we are glad we stayed at. read more

Post, Texas, founded in 1907 by cereal magnate Charles William Post, was truly a "dream city". His vision drew him to one of the most beautiful locations in West Texas - the area where the headwaters of both arms of the Brazos River join to outline the scenic caprock escarpment of the Llano Estacado.. located south of Lubbock Texas is the home of the Historic Hotel Garza where I'am staying tonight and have enjoyed several previous visits . Obviously beautiful built in the early 1900s in West Texas the property seems rather plain but the interior offers a delightful ambiance even the most seasoned travelers will enjoy . Ruth and her husband Ian are really a great couple and they have put their creative touches to the business and run a first rate establishment. I give the Hotel a five star rating but I will understand if some of my fellow travelers offer up a 4 star rating due to the fact the bathrooms are not made with marble and sunken tubs . If you enjoy fine historic hotels this is a must place to stay and visit. read more

We went just did our first murder mystery night at Garza Hotel and LOVED it. The staff was awesome and the food was great. How is this little gem not known about? This should be a Lubbock Landmark Landmark event You dress and actually participate and figure out the mystery. Met a lot of great people and had fun and games also. Overnight stay is a beautifully restored hotel that has modern necessities inside We just put this is our must do list again ! read more

Small town, hidden gem. When you walk in you are transported to early 1900's. Gorgeous decor, clean and inviting. The bedroom we stayed in was plush and true to the times with a brass bed and claw foot tub... we went for a murder mystery night... well run , food was plentiful and delicious, our host kept us entertained the whole night... the next morning breakfast was scrumptious and the game finished.. great times. If you happen to find yourself traveling through the small town of Post, Texas, you need to spend the night at Hotel Garza! This is the most beautiful, peaceful bed and breakfast you will ever find. The proprietor is so helpful and courteous, and she makes a terrific breakfast! The rooms are straight out of the 1800's but with modern amenities, of course! I was surprised when my wife picked a spot this far out of Lubbock. We loved it! My father and stepmother stayed here as well, and they seemed to enjoy it. The morning breakfast was enjoyable. I stayed here as part of a friend's 40th birthday party and we were all part of one of their murder mystery events. Too much fun! I fell in love with the buildings and the proprietors. I had a great experience at Hotel Garza. The couple that owns the establishment were very kind and accommodating to me. I arrived at almost midnight to check in and they were still willing to make me my breakfast earlier than they typically serve their guests. I can't imagine why someone would have had a bad experience here and I'll definitely be staying again. read more

We came upon this place on our way from Fort Worth to Ruidoso and we're so glad we did. This hotel is beautifully restored and so well maintained. Clean, clean, clean! Condom was left on the pull out that had a pathetic spring that was like sleeping on the floor. Disgusting and filthy hotel. Hairs and mold everywhere. Do NOT stay here. They are way overpriced for the area and not up to the standards for which they expect payment. On top of that, don't expect a good night's sleep as the train loudly rolls through in the middle of the night. The owner made excuses for everything and said it's just the way it is. You're better off staying in a bigger city like Lubbock or Sweetwater at a reliable chain hotel where your hard earned money won't go to waste. read more

This was one of the nicest hotels we've ever stayed in! Elegant, comfortable and gracious. What s find in the middle of TX! The owner/managers were delightful. Friendly and accommodating with a huge delicious made to order breakfast - we couldn't have asked for more! We toured this historic hotel - each room and suite unique with antique furnishings , updated amenities and flatscreen TVs. Right on historic Main Street yet quite quiet except for the occasional mournful train whistle. We will go out of our way to visit here again. read more
