I was a little apprehensive but all communications were received without problem. You are asked to check in the day before and you will have to send in a picture of a valid ID. The morning of arrival you will be emailed instructions on how to use your room entry code and the lobby code for after hours. The hotel is on the third floor and the building also is shared by many condo owners as well as two outstanding restaurants on the first floor: The West Table (amazing!!!) and the Brewery LBK (great!). The West Table provides some shared and some unique food options at the brewery every night. There's also a vending machine (drinks only) and a nice ice machine on the 3rd floor where all the rooms are. Parking was not a factor. There was plenty of parking up and down Broadway so we didn't have to walk very far at all. Never felt unsafe. We were in room #303 the "Black & Gold" suite. All top notch, nice. We were sent a text by housekeeping our first morning to see if we needed anything which was a nice touch. Room was quiet, nice king bed & bedding. Nice wet bar & wine refrig. Maybe the only negative was that suites 301-304 face Broaddway, so there was a little road noise at times, nothing that woke me up. From the moment I stepped into my room, it was nowhere near my expectations. The level of poor maintenance and lack of cleanliness was shocking. There was food splattered on the appliances, the towels were stained and soiled, and the entire room just felt unsanitary. I was so uncomfortable that I had to go to the store to buy my own cleaning supplies and sanitize the room myself--something I've never had to do at any hotel before. To make matters worse, when I left for the day and returned at 4 PM, my room had not been cleaned. When I asked the housekeeping staff in the hallway, I was told my room was on a "no stay-over" list, meaning they weren't planning on cleaning it at all--whatever that means. At that point, I had lost all confidence in this hotel's sanitation efforts and couldn't even bring myself to try the free breakfast, as I was convinced the lack of cleanliness extended throughout the establishment. The only positive from my stay was the front desk staff, who was one of the nicest people I encountered during my trip. But even his kindness couldn't make up for the frustration, regret, and overall disappointment I felt--especially since this stay was supposed to be for Valentine's Day. I regret not choosing another hotel, and I have attached photos not to embarrass the establishment but to help future guests make an informed choice. Kind of on-brand for Aloft. The problem is two of two treadmills were out of commission. I ran in the residential park down the road after taking the stairs. At least all the lights and tech in the room were operational. Located in a strip mall area with a number of restaurants makes it convenient but the lack of concern over maintenance in the common areas makes me reluctant to ever stay here again. And as a Bonvoy member I stay in A LOT of their hotels. I feel like I should get a points rebate for using points during this stay.
