A charming and quaint little hotel in Positano. My room was roomy-enough, clean, and quiet decorated in bright blues and white with an efficiently appointed, private bathroom. The bed was comfortable and the linens were clean...always a plus...I mean sometimes, you just never know!! Bonus...my room had a little terrace with beautiful views of the brightly-colored buildings nestled into the hillside.
The hotel was fairly easy to locate and is marked but not super, super obvious. In other words, if you're looking for a big lit-up Hilton-esque sign, you will drive right by the Bougainville. And, thankfully, Positano is so pristine and quaint that there are no such hideous Hilton signs around!
Climb a flight of stairs with your bags (no elevator) to the check-in desk which is, quite literally, a desk. I was greeted by a very quiet yet pleasant woman who promptly checked me in and I was off and up another flight of stairs to my room. I travel light and am in decent shape so I don't mind it but stairs could understandably be a concern for some.
From the hotel you can literally walk everywhere...always a nice plus. Very nearby was a gelato/pastry/coffee place...yum!...and a small pharmacy for any of those items you may need. I was overall very pleased with my experience at this cute little hotel. And, Positano, well...that was an immediate and instant love affair which will repeat for me in this lifetime and others! read more
