Let's start with the positive: great location, amazing breakfast attendant (Ana), and great breakfast selection.
The not so good: cramped rooms and property, undesirable beds, noisy.
The unacceptable: we paid for a room one night prior, even though we were NOT flying into Madrid until the day after. I just wanted to make sure we had a room readily available for when we got there at 8am the morning after until we waited for our actual rooms. Mind you, we had two rooms already reserved. Not a good way to learn that double room means two tiny twin beds...worst part- we had to select two people from our part of four as they would not let us go to the one room we had paid in advanced from the day before. They told us that "per law" only two people could occupy the room at any time. This was senseless- since we had two rooms we were waiting for and I had paid a room NO ONE had slept on since the night before for this exact purpose. Well, we had to select the two adults who could enjoy the room and rest, while the other two of us were made to wait in the lobby. This is the STUPIDEST thing I have ever been told in a hotel, but I went on since it's a different country and I was too tired to fight after 20 hours of travel.
I must say they did expedite check in for the other room we had reserved, albeit I had to pay for early check in. Regardless the stress of having to select two, out of us four, was too much for us to deal with after a long and tiring trip- we were all equally exhausted. Now I now, that double, does not always mean double. read more
