I just stayed for about a week at Hotel Oasis and had a great time. I think the Yelp reviews are a bit out of date, as you can see on other platforms they have a 3.7 (Trip Advisor) to 4.2 (Google). Below I discuss some pros and cons. I debated giving a four-star rating, but for ~$70-90 per night I think this is a great option. Cons: - Noise. While I found the rooms were quiet enough from neighboring guests, the locals do like to party nearby so there can be music into the night. Nothing the hotel could do about that necessarily - The dogs. Yes, they can be charming, however, they can make a mess and they do bark at night. Some of the dogs are strays and the hotel probably can't do anything about those, but some are owned by the hotel Pros: - Location. This hotel almost seems to have its own private beach. It's not actually private, but it's right there and it's very beautiful. We watched sunsets, sunrises, moon rises, and went tidepooling right out the door. It's also located at the end of the town's "malecón" and is easy to get into the heart of Loreto on foot - Rooms. I found the rooms totally suitable. While they are not glamorously decorated, I felt they had everything we needed (dresser, closet, hangers, safe). The rooms were clean and housekeeping could be seen daily. The beds are on the harder side. Shampoo and conditioner provided. Hot water was abundant, wifi was sufficient for casual needs, and each room had TV and air-conditioning (yay) - Staff/service. We received excellent care from all the staff members (reception, restaurant, housekeeping). Most spoke very good English and did their best to meet our group's requests - Amenities. The pool is great and they have a gigantic hot tub that was very hot - Breakfast. Included, buffet style with good variety for our group, they kept the coffee refills coming - Culture. The owners and their staff really try to bring some of Mexico's culture to their guests. This is a family-owned operation and they're passionate about hospitality and tradition. For example, they do a clam bake every week. We also had the pleasure of taking a goat cheese making class. If you get a chance to engage more about cultural topics, I highly recommend it read more

Bill your card for entire amount on booking. Then send confirmation saying non refundable. Cheap tickets says they owe refund then bailed when these guys say no refund. 7 weeks notice of cancellation. Avoid unless going the next day. Addendum. After talking to cheap tickets no help even though they indicated we were due a refund. do not book. Loreto is great coming back next year. No problem with the town.. Nice hotels in town. We enjoyed our time there. But this policy is no bueno and there are other places to stay. read more

WORST PLACE EVER! Do not stay here on a weekend. Just off property there is a beach club that pumps techno dance music all night long. It's currently 2AM, and the owners don't give a damn. Find someplace else to steal your hard earned money. Base notes rattle the walls all night long at this joint. We really enjoyed staying at the Oasis, if there was an option for more than 5 stars I would have given it to the Oasis and Anna the owner. Anna was so available and personable, not only to my friend and I, but I watched her mingle with all of the guests, some new and some returning. The staff was very friendly and helpful, we arrived on Melissa's first day and she couldn't have been more friendly. After we got settled in to our room she stopped by to drop something off and was able to answer all of our questions about the hotel, Loreto and the surrounding destinations of interest. I am very grateful we found the Oasis and I think if you stay there you will be too! read more

All of the rooms have problems with NOISE. The rooms down on the end, maybe #'s 15 - 25, something like that, are AWFUL. A phone rang in the room next to me, and I was actually searching for a strange phone in my own room in total surprise, when ringing stopped & a man's clear, unmuffled voice said "hello?" Sound from the next room was THAT loud & clear! When his friends knocked on his door, came in to shoot the sh**, it was comically loud in my room. I stayed very quiet to avoid the embarrassment of unavoidable eavesdropping. Not very relaxing. Certainly not what I expect for the outrageous price, here in Mexico. Was actually willing to put up with the noise, but not without INTERNET, which was practically nonexistent, & completely unusable. I called the office and a clerk told me she would "check the system". Mmm hmm. I called 20 minutes later & she didn't answer the phone, so I walked down there - empty office. She came in with a plateful of food about 5 minutes later. She tried to stall me & say the internet was a temporary problem. I told her it was imperative that I could use it in my room, as advertised. She apologized and said she couldn't move me because they had no other rooms. I said what about the room with the three twin beds in it? (I heard of it by accident, earlier) WELL. In THAT case... Since I already knew about it, I was permitted to lug all my bags down the walkway to the other end of the hotel, lol! I could hear my new neighbors but not nearly as much. Neither of the beds was modern. The numerous stray dogs that wander the property were very loud as they tussled outside the back wall. A deposit of $50 per key is non-negtiable. As always, gorgeous dining experience at breakfast. I hope I never have to stay in this wretched hotel again but I would always come back for the food if in the area. Very nice setting & excellent food & service. But if you want to spend a hundred dollars a night, just get an Air bnb & be COMFORTABLE! Oasis is for short term tourists who must determine to be happy or admit they were cheated. read more

so many examples I can give but will leave it at this: Rep of Hotel Oasis: "You can order room service up until 10pm and put your food in the fridge for breakfast." Reality: walked into room and there is no phone and no fridge. Then they say put phone to bar code and the menu pops up, and there is no service at all, even with the wifi. No thanks! Keep one expectations true to a rustic bungalow that opens into the beachfront... comfy beds, not overly crowded and a great staff to welcome you. 10m walk to mission at Loreto and main square. What a disappointment! I figured this hotel would have been remodeled long ago so I decided to check it out for a two night stay. Poor choice, on my part. First, I misunderstood what "pet friendly" meant. Apparently, they are fine charging me an additional $17 a night for my small dog, which I clean up after, but the property has several large Collie Dogs that poop everywhere and no one cleans up after them. Ooops, not true, when one took a dump in the restaurant, a customer grabbed a napkin to clean it up! Inexcusable! The room was ok. They say they provide shampoo and conditioner, and my shower had these, but the shower gel was empty. Found this out a little late to be of much help. The room was supposed to be Covid clean but there was a dirty tissue behind the bathroom door that was not mine. Yuck! But the worst was when I went down for the complementary breakfast. I was told to take any table so I sat along the beach side so my dog wouldn't trouble anyone. After 5 minutes I managed to get a cup of coffee and powered creamer. Then 10 more minutes passed with no waiter. I kept looking over at the girl that brought the coffee but she ignored me. Another 10 minutes passed and I noticed two couples came in and sat down at different tables. Within minutes they had a tablecloth, silverware, coffee, fruit plates and a basket of bread. My table was still uncovered except for my empty coffee cup. I walked up to the front and asked if they could see me or if I was invisible? Then I went to the front desk and told them what happened and that I didn't want to stay there another night and asked for a refund. They said they couldn't refund my money, even for the second night. I checked my Visa card and they charged me for the room when I booked, charged me $34 for the dog at checkin, charged me a $1000.00 deposit (you read that correctly), and then another $49 charge appeared after my non-breakfast free breakfast! I will let you know if and when I get this straightened out!!! So... I guess they don't want quality, repeat guests. At half the price, I still wouldn't recommend this place. They should bull-dose it! read more

The Oasis Hotel isn't nice. It's just not a nice place. The room was hollow, sparse and "decorated" as an afterthought. It was not nice. The "lock" on the room's "door" was not in any way shape or form protective. Not nice and not secure. The area around the hotel was under construction, so not at all nice in spite of the property sitting against the sand of the beach. The restaurant's breakfast was, wait for it... really nice! Thus two instead on one star. But what really wasn't nice was the lie. We were called home due to circumstances after the first night of a three night stay and were told that, though we couldn't receive a refund, we would receive credit for the two nights we'd miss. The hotel has, thus far, reneged on that assurance in spite of our following their wild-goose-chase instructions for actionable contact. Here's the rub; we don't really want to go back there! It really was nasty. But now we're into the whole principal of the thing game. The front desk is peopled by lovely young people who seem friendly and attentive (we even gave them cake), but who are capable of giving a customer the run around with the skill of BS all-stars like ATT&T. Let me start with saying Loreto is a beautiful place. I will definitely come back but I would say Hotel Oasis needs some improvement. Rooms were clean but beds need to be replaced. Our fire alarm went off at 12:45 am. Also they don't have many of the amenities they say they offer. Pool was under construction as stated on website. They said they would provide a taxi to a sister hotel pool but when we tried to go they said the pool is not available until 5/18 which is useless as we will be gone by then. to No bikes. No kayaks. The manager Juan Carlos walked away as I was asking the front desk to speak to a manger. The staff is friendly however management needs to get it together. A few hours after our complaints they called and offered accommodations for the inconvenience. read more

Avoid this hotel now. Sad to write this as I've stayed there a number of times. We had three rooms for a week. Thinking we had another person joining us, about a week before our reservations, I called in directly (not through an agent) to reserve another room. About an hour later, realizing we didn't need a fourth room, I called to cancel. The manager refused to refund my money saying the booking was non-refundable. He had not told me this when taking my credit card. He only offered a credit, which is useless. Not only can I not predict my family might want to visit Loreto again, but why would I ever give this unethical business any future business? The owner of the hotel, Ana Benziger, does not return my calls or my email to do the ethical thing and refund my payment. Also, big warning: the town of Loreto has expanded and there is now a restaurant along the dry wash behind the hotel. This restaurant plays very loudly amplified music literally until 2 AM. If you think you'll be falling asleep to the sound of waves on the beach, you're wrong. You'll be grinding your teeth waiting for the horrible music to stop. It is very loud! Also food is only mediocre. We ate breakfast there and a couple other meals, but my family definitely preferred any other restaurants within walking distance. Sorry that this hotel now becomes an AVOID location. read more

The only hotel on the sand in town. Rooms are Spartan but the property is nice and very central. The food is great at the restaurant, decent pool hammocks by each room. Can't beat it for the price. read more

Sunrise is magical at Hotel Oasis. The sunrise is spectacular and definitely worth getting up early for. Walking distance to town and nice walk along the malecon (walkway near beach). Simple, clean rooms - nothing fancy here. Good location and nice views of the water. The ground level rooms are perfect for those in wheelchair or walker. They are not true handicap rooms but easy to roll a walker or wheelchair in/out. The ones near the pool are larger, with more open interior, so more room for wheelchair. I think they have a couple rooms with microwave and refrigerator in a different building, although we haven't stayed in them. The rooms near the restaurant are convenient for meals. Pool area is nice, again nothing fancy, but great to cool down. After fishing, the restaurant cooked our fish to perfection. The wait staff and the housekeeping staff are all very accommodating and willing to make your stay fun and relaxing. We're going back this year. read more

First thing first! Loreto is an amazing place. The bluest ocean water, the radiant sun, the stars shine like diamond at midnite, the ocean waves at night make you fall in love with the person you share the experience with With that said. In fear that would be travelers would be discouraged from visiting Loreto.....it's almost hard to write a bad review. So the hotel was mediocre at best. A family of four was complaining about some issues as we checked in and they were checking out. I should have inquired a bit. Didn't matter at first, we were there for Loreto. Our first night at The Oasis, the AC broke in 90 degree weather, still we were being good troopers. The second day AC broke again, (we were told operator error). The worst part, our plumbing stopped working, the toilet water tank stopped filling with water. The water from the hose to the tank started to leak badly onto the bathroom floor, out of the restroom and into the bedroom. The days after went from bad to worse, we called about 7 times to have a plumber come out. He showed up without any tools three times. He stood in the restroom for about 10 minutes each time, mumbled something to me and left. Toilet still unusable. The last night we were there around 11pm they asked if we wanted to switch rooms. It was almost funny. Lastly I left my Costco membership card on the counter. It wasn't there when we returned from a fishing trip. When we got home my wife's Costco credit card that she used to book the room had 10 unauthorized purchases all made in Loreto. We will return to Loreto many more times just never to this place. read more

We went for the "Italian" buffet and live music at the recommendation of a friend of the entertainers. Although not the best food we ever ate, it was clean, pleasant and swiftly prepared for each individual. The staff were friendly, attentive and just plain nice! We enjoyed the meal and would recommend it to friends. I would say better than average as well. read more

Do not book this hotel unless you are 100% sure you will be going. Plans changed for us and we are giving them almost 45 days cancellation notice and they will not return our money. Their website indicates giving them at least 48 hours notice. They are not honoring their policy. read more
