They have really upped their game from previous years and added so much! I was genuinely terrified and loved every minute of it!

Flew to Missouri from California, and this hotel is directly across the street from the hospital. Could not have asked for a better experience. The hotel is directly across the street from the hospital, so it was a very easy walk to get to and from seeing our family member. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly, and very accommodating. We were able to add days and end our stay without any sort of advanced notice, of course, because we did not really know what would be happening. When we did leave, we were given a late-late checkout on request, I really could not say enough wonderful things about how nice it was to not have to worry about our hotel stay. I would give them infinite gold stars if possible. Thank you.

It's also a pretty safe neighborhood, which is nice since parking is in an open lot, not a garage. It's a basic TownePlace Suites. It has good-sized rooms with comfortable beds and a fold-out sofa, basic cooking facilities, a work station and the usual amenities including iron and board. There is also a complementary breakfast, and a few others, including a workout room. Service was generally pretty good. I couldn't find my hair dryer on my first day (heading into a meeting), and the front desk attendant had one to my room within minutes. However, there were several other issues with this property. First, the shower in my guest room was barely warm. Even after receiving assurance from the front desk that maintenance would look after it, it was no better. There is a lobby bar where the attentive bartender pours drinks and offers appetizers from Tuesdays through Saturdays, but the quesadilla on offer was HORRIBLE! Whatever was supposed to be the tortilla (and it was NOT a traditional flour tortilla) had the consistency - and flavor - of cardboard. When I asked the bartender what kind it was, she admitted she didn't know, but suspected it was some kind of "healthy option." One does not order a quesadilla to be healthy. Third, the hotel has a shared computer (not exactly a business center) but requires a log-on for Word or Excel, which makes it pretty useless for anything except surfing the web. Even the credentials provided by the front desk didn't work. On two of the three nights I stayed there, the hotel hosted a fair number of kids' sports teams. That meant the noise level went up, kids running in the halls, and a breakfast room that was pretty well overrun both mornings. Fortunately, there are other restaurants close by, providing options to avoid the crazy. It's not the best TownePlace Suites at which I've stayed (and I've stayed at plenty) but if the location is convenient and the price suits your budget, I wouldn't steer you away.

The moment I stepped into the stylish, contemporary lobby, I felt like I'd walked into a boutique hotel in SoHo. The design is chic, modern, and full of personality. I arrived early and was pleasantly surprised to get access to my room right away -- a spacious, beautifully appointed room on the fourth floor of the hotel's main building. (Tip: there's a second building across the alley in back, so if location matters to you, be sure to ask which one you're in.) My room was terrific -- upscale furnishings, high ceilings, and a bed so comfortable I wanted to bring it home with me. Great mattress, perfect pillows -- everything you hope for in a good night's sleep. As luck would have it, the hotel was celebrating its 10-year anniversary with a lobby reception just as I was heading out to a meeting. The place had a celebratory buzz. When I returned, I made a beeline to Vantage, the rooftop bar, for an Old Fashioned. They were out of Angel's Envy (my go-to), but the bartender made a solid one with Woodford Reserve. A quick evening shower made the rooftop a bit humid, so I headed downstairs to The Order, the hotel's lobby bar -- equally impressive, with a standout liquor selection and, yes, Angel's Envy in stock. Round two. The next morning, I hit their fitness room in the back building, followed by a run through downtown. Afterward, I grabbed a surprisingly good $10 breakfast burrito from the on-site café. My only real quibble: no complimentary coffee in the lobby. For a boutique hotel of this caliber, it's a small thing that would make a big difference. Overall, Hotel Vandivort delivered style, comfort, and a memorable experience. If you're heading to Springfield and want something with personality and polish -- stay here. Highly recommended.

I have had the pleasure of staying at this immaculate hotel over a dozen of times and typically for a week or more to visit friends and family in the area. Rooms are spacious and so clean you can actually walk barefoot on the carpets; lobby and restaurant are pristine and inviting; and all of the staff are truly kind and helpful - they go out of their way to supply you on your journey. While all staff are class acts, special shouts out for this stay include Zach, Alby, Doug, Penny, Denis, Kaitlyn and the night crew. Oh - don't miss the complimentary fruit water and coffee stations in the lobby! And, do book early to guarantee your suite.

Andrea is always helpful and love the cooked to order items here. The rooms, however, are getting so rundown through the years. My room on the first floor was so muggy, damp and even the carpets were bad. You would not even dare walk on them with bare feet, so gross. Then, the bathroom walls were stained with who knows what. I was there for a week and had two hand towels and one wash cloth. Lastly, Springfield is getting booked up so these rooms can be up to 180/200+ per night which is highway robbery since they are so bad. Sooner or later it will be dropped from the Hilton chain and be made into a Quality Inn or something.

The whirlpool could definitely use a little something as parts were falling off - but, hey... we were going back in time. The Cadillac bed still brings a smile to my face. It was cheesy in a completely awesome way. Shove the kids in the wagon & let's hit the open road! Could it be improved on? Sure... but it was clean, comfortably & achieved it's goal. Bonus, it was quiet, despite being along the road. We noted the addition of some new themed rooms, including a lovely western room. I like to see the progress and hope to see refreshes on some of the classics. Breakfast was available & worth skipping. It seriously was not good. I don't mean in the usual subpar hotel breakfast way. I mean that they somehow made a subpar hotel breakfast worse. The biscuits were too hard to too cut &, speaking of cutting, I'm pretty sure they cuz the gravy with water . It was THIN. Even so, no amount of soaking softened the biscuits. The grounds were very pleasant to stroll through. The Route 66 touches were well-integrated, keeping it true to the theme without going overboard. The hot tub has been removed and covered with a deck. It's, again, true to the original era. While checking out the grounds, we overheard staff discussing the importance of, and plan for, improving curb appeal. We truly enjoyed our stay & needed something not so serious, something playful. This hit the mark!

After hours of driving rains, we arrived around midnight to a smiling face and an engaging midnight auditor. (It's what they called her, not me.) We had a clean room with really comfortable beds. A great bathroom was icing on the cake. There was a ginormous closet to house all our suitcases and gear. And - breakfast was really good. I was surprised to find that our coffee maker actually worked and there were no issues. (From other reviews, you'll know how other 3 & 4-star hotels had failed there.) I highly recommend this hotel. The room was very clean and it's convenient having a refrigerator and microwave in the room. The front desk staff were very friendly! Breakfast was very good! They had sausage, scrambled eggs, biscuits and sausage gravy. Everything was hot and you could tell it was made fresh. Not microwaved. You could make yourself a waffle or grab a boiled egg (already peeled) and a bowl of fresh strawberries. So many options, they do a great breakfast! Definitely get up for breakfast! The location is convenient and right off I44. There is a Costco nearby you can fuel up at and they are open until 10 pm! Bonus!!!
