On our way from Paducah, Kentucky, we stopped in Springfield, Missouri and found this Best Western while traveling along historic Route 66. We thought it looked cute from the outside with that classic Route 66 vibe, and it turned out to be a nice little stop. The hotel was neat and clean -- definitely an older property, but well-kept and comfortable. We chose to stay at another Best Western because we had such a great experience the night before, and this one came close! The staff were all very friendly, and the complimentary breakfast was a nice touch before getting back on the road. I especially liked the nostalgic Route 66 décor -- it really fit the theme of our cross-country trip learning about the history of America's Main Street. After breakfast, we packed up and headed toward Oklahoma City (which turned into quite the adventure -- plenty of stories there ). Overall, this was a solid stop for the night with good service and a fun vintage feel.

The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. I loved the deep tub in the bathroom. They have an old telephone booth, that you have to use to get the front desk to open the lobby late at night. The pool looked inviting, but had to leave before we got a chance to use it.

It had been a while since I had stayed in a motel. Most of the time it's a trashy or average experience. But not here. I intended to stay here since this was a classic Route 66 stop, and since I was on a Route 66 trip...it's a no-brainer! (This was the only classic hotel/motel I was willing to stay at) I didn't know until I checked in at the lobby that Elvis Presley stayed here at one time. He stayed at Room 409, just in case you're wondering. (Wonder if that inspired the Beach Boys song?) Anyway, before Best Western bought this out, this was a classic tourist court on the Mother Road. Be sure to walk around the grounds and you'll find some classic signs, including the old Best Western sign from the 1980s. The room was fine, like it was clean and all. If you're looking for something very entertaining to watch, be sure to turn to the Route 66 channel. I'm not sure if it is available only here or throughout the city or certain places, but you get an entertaining watch with an hour-long Route 66 documentary - shown in a loop. Give it a watch if you have an hour to kill! Would stay here again when in Springfield.

My friend and I stayed in the Elvis's room on 1/2/2022. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and the room was clean. The only complaint we had was that the AC/heater was loud. I am still giving it 5 stars because we really enjoyed our stay.

This place is a MUST stay at on any Route 66 road trip!! The first ever Best Western, restored to its modern day glory with old school nostalgia!! They have have the original Best Western sign there for photo ops! Unfortunately, it does not light up. The main hotel sign however, does light up!! So if you stay here, make sure you venture out at night and look at the lights. It is very charming!! Stayed here over the summer on a June night while on the road with my travel pup. Checking in was easy and they sure do welcome your furbaby! Dog fee was $15 if I remember correctly. The check in lady was super nice and explained some sights and things to do and told me about the pool being open. I did not venture into the pool, but kinda wished I did take a peek at it. On the hotel grounds, there is classic cars around and even some old gas pumps. Perfect place to get some classic Route 66 pictures. For dogs, she gave me a room along the back row. There was a huge grass area for the dogs!! I loved it!! Just a short walk across the parking to the grass area for dogs! Our room had 2 beds with a microwave and mini-fridge as well. They have a ice machine located in the center of the place, so not a far walk from any side. Parking is right outside your room which I like as opposed to walking all around a hotel. If I forgot something, I can literally just step outside the door to get it. Easy to load and unload your car! The breakfast in the morning was included and delicious! Definitely one of the better hotel breakfasts I had during this trip!! The breakfast area is small and there are some tables inside to eat, or you can eat at one of the tables outdoors, or take it back to your room to enjoy. Everyone here was super nice and friendly. The check in lady was very nice, the older couple I met during breakfast was nice and when I was leaving, the maintenance guy was super friendly and was chatted for a bit as he asked about my dog and my trip. He even told me to make sure I get ice and stay hydrated for the rest of my drive! This place is a must stay at on a Route 66 trip. If I ever pass by here again, I would stay here again! This place did not disappoint me at all!

Fun 30s through 70s style motel. Model A is parked out front with decorative gas pumps as you enter the lobby. We stayed in a family suite that had a king bed and a separate room that had a bunk bed .. twin on top and double (futon) on bottom. The mattresses have seen obvious use with small indentations but the bedding was clean. The bathroom was decorated as 50s style with the black and white tile flooring. My favorite was the area to eat breakfast. See the photo. The do serve a different style of eggs and sausage daily so if that matters, call and ask before booking.

I'm so glad I did. The moment I stepped into the stylish, contemporary lobby, I felt like I'd walked into a boutique hotel in SoHo. The design is chic, modern, and full of personality. I arrived early and was pleasantly surprised to get access to my room right away -- a spacious, beautifully appointed room on the fourth floor of the hotel's main building. (Tip: there's a second building across the alley in back, so if location matters to you, be sure to ask which one you're in.) My room was terrific -- upscale furnishings, high ceilings, and a bed so comfortable I wanted to bring it home with me. Great mattress, perfect pillows -- everything you hope for in a good night's sleep. As luck would have it, the hotel was celebrating its 10-year anniversary with a lobby reception just as I was heading out to a meeting. The place had a celebratory buzz. When I returned, I made a beeline to Vantage, the rooftop bar, for an Old Fashioned. They were out of Angel's Envy (my go-to), but the bartender made a solid one with Woodford Reserve. A quick evening shower made the rooftop a bit humid, so I headed downstairs to The Order, the hotel's lobby bar -- equally impressive, with a standout liquor selection and, yes, Angel's Envy in stock. Round two. The next morning, I hit their fitness room in the back building, followed by a run through downtown. Afterward, I grabbed a surprisingly good $10 breakfast burrito from the on-site café. My only real quibble: no complimentary coffee in the lobby. For a boutique hotel of this caliber, it's a small thing that would make a big difference. Overall, Hotel Vandivort delivered style, comfort, and a memorable experience. If you're heading to Springfield and want something with personality and polish -- stay here. Highly recommended.

Andrea is always helpful and love the cooked to order items here. The rooms, however, are getting so rundown through the years. My room on the first floor was so muggy, damp and even the carpets were bad. You would not even dare walk on them with bare feet, so gross. Then, the bathroom walls were stained with who knows what. I was there for a week and had two hand towels and one wash cloth. Lastly, Springfield is getting booked up so these rooms can be up to 180/200+ per night which is highway robbery since they are so bad. Sooner or later it will be dropped from the Hilton chain and be made into a Quality Inn or something.

I fully understood that this was only a request and not a guarantee. When I arrived, I was informed that the hotel was fully booked and that my room was not yet available. That part was completely understandable. What was disappointing was the way the information was communicated. The front desk staff (older lady) came across as dismissive and unwelcoming, making my family feel more like an inconvenience than a valued guest. Hospitality is about more than just having a room available, it's about how guests are treated when things don't go according to plan. A simple explanation, an estimated wait time, or even a friendly acknowledgment of the inconvenience would have made a significant difference. Instead, the interaction left a poor first impression and set a negative tone for the start of my stay. I hope management takes this feedback as an opportunity to reinforce the importance of customer service and guest experience.
