As previous yelpers have mentioned, the hotel provides transportation from the airport to the hotel. Our driver was waiting for us when we landed, even though our flight was 3 hours late arriving. The fare is $20 U.S dollars. Upon arrival to the hotel, we were greeted and immediately checked in. Very welcoming service. Overall, the hotel is beautiful. Very clean! Rooms aren't super huge but we didn't feel like we needed a large room. Beds were comfy, the tv had 2 English speaking channels. Shower was wonderful. Unfortunately, we never had a chance to eat at the restaurant. There is a bar on the 2nd floor with an outdoor patio. Great place for drinks and they have a food menu too. Ernesto was our bartender and couldn't say enough good things about him! He was very attentive, made one of the best margarita's ever! Highly recommend checking out the bar! Location is perfect. About 3 blocks from the center square and lots of restaurants. We walked around day and night and felt safe walking around. The concierge did advise of where not to walk around. Very easy to take an uber anywhere you need to go also. Will definitely stay here again.

This hotels decor is amazing. I loved every bit of it.

This hotel is absolutely wonderful! I recommend booking here if you're looking for great customer service, excellent location, exceptional food within the hotel and around the hotel as well as free parking. Our stay here was beyond amazing. We were greeted by Victor who is amazing when we first arrived and he made us feel very welcome and right at home. Everyone from their front desk, to their private bar, to their bellhops were absolutely wonderful. The hotel is super clean and the rooms are very, very comfortable with excellent wifi and smart TVs. I can't wait to return!

I cannot stop raving about this adorable hotel! I'll try to make this short and sweet for a person considering this hotel in the future: Pros - Amazing customer service! Really kind, attentive, and welcoming staff. - In a convenient location. Walking distance to the Guadalajara Cathedral, Plaza de Armas, Palacio de Gobierno... even Mercado San Juan de Dios is close by! - Very affordable, cost us $169 with taxes+fees for a room with two double beds for two nights - Felt safe walking around here during the day and afternoon -OXXO across the street - Modern style, aesthetically pleasing - Comfy beds and pillows Cons - Didn't feel safe when walking at night around the hotel, but the hotel itself is very safe. Just like any big city, weirdos walking around at night... - Shower is weirdly built. Shower head is very cool, but water spills out of the shower area because there is no door. We just put a towel down on the floor where the glass ended to absorb any water that splashed out. Overall, highly recommend this hotel!!! You can easily get around the cons and enjoy your stay.

El Chato restaurant located inside the hotel.

Highly recommend this new hotel. Staff is friendly and the whole place is very clean. The decor is trendy and classic at the same time. We enjoyed breakfast daily at El Chato restaurant located with in. Walking distance to shops and restaurants as well as historic landmarks. Great price and location.

AMAZING!!! From pick up at airport to drop off at end of trip the entire staff all get 5 stars!!!! I had called the hotel a few days prior and they arranged a driver to pick us up from the airport. They were right up front waiting for us with a sign with our last name on it.. We felt so important! Upon arriving at the hotel we met with the concierge Victor who listened to what we wanted to do while in town and he made it ALL happen! We got to Guadalajara and knew we wanted to see the día de los muertos festivals but didn't know where they were taking place we also came with recommendations to do the bigger well known tequila tour but once we saw the pics of the smaller ones we changed our minds and decided to do the tour Victor had for us. And we were glad we did! We asked him to try to locate tickets for us to the soccer game for the following night and he said it was a popular game he wasn't sure he would be able to get them but he got on the phone with the chivas stadium right then and there in front of us and and they told him they were closed. He told us he would keep trying. He later called our room and told us he had gotten us tickets.. That same afternoon we asked for a driver to take us to the festival in Tlaquepaque. The town that was recommended for the día de los muertos festival and it was exactly what we came to Mexico to see! Again driver was right at drop of location to pick us up after the festival. We ate breakfast in the hotel restaurant the next morning and were pleased with the buffet selection. We went on the tequila tour that picked us up from the hotel and dropped us off back at the hotel. We went to our room rested and came back down to the lobby as Victor had again arranged for a driver to take us to dinner at a restaurant he suggested, and had called them to make reservations for us and asked them to give us a tour. The restaurant,Santo Coyote was insanely spectacular. A show, live mariachi and the desert table, Omg!!! Karina, gave us the grand tour of the private upstairs room and told us about all the paintings and the tequilas. There was something magical about the whole restaurant. We called the hotel and asked for them to send a driver and again they were right there in front waiting for us. The following day we had the driver drop us off at the Chivas game, once we got in we realized Victor had really come through for us with second row seats!!! He must know someone famous or some pretty popular people to have gotten us these great seats! The streets close during the game so our pick up location was different than drop off but Octavio, our driver, parked his car and came running to find us and lead us to where he had parked. The hotel has their own contracted drivers who get to know u and take u exactly where u want to go and make sure u get picked up from there. Thank you very much Victor, Octavio, Kevin and everyone else who was there to greet us, give us suggestions, drop us off and pick us up clean our room or just smiled at us and held the door open for us! We will definitely be staying here again. We already have plans to come back!

Rooms are awesome and is walking-close to landmarks. The buffet on the entry level is basic but the servers are very accommodating. It seems that there are a lot not Americans staying here. Don't be afraid to say hello to strangers while on vacation! A lot of times people just stare at each other--smile and say hello. It's awesome.

Everything else is great!…read more I've been here two nights and dinner has been terrible the first night I had chicken in mole it was a chicken breast, had two bites and tasted a bit off I looked at the chicken and it was undercooked. I didn't complain just paid for it. The second night I had the tostadas de callo. I've had these many times but what I received was old smelly, squishy callo. I had to complain. They didn't charge me for my plate and service was really bad. Room is great and breakfast are amazing but dinner here I have to say not good at all.

We went down stairs and the front desk switched us to a new room, no fuss. We went up to the rooftop bar, great views and great drinks. The food however was a different story. Everyone in my group had issues with the food we sent back some of the food, but it wasn't any better when it returned to the table. Needless to say we did not eat here again. If you stay here visit the bar for the views but avoid the food. Overpriced and very low quality. Lastly, the hotel lobby has no restroom!!! Almost everyday while waiting for our friends in the lobby we had to make the trip up to our room in the 5th floor to use the bathroom. The was such an inconvenience. The hotel is centrally located and there are many restaurants and places to see within walking distance. I personally will not stay here again.

I had the pleasure of being an occupant in this mansion 9/2019. Since then, I haven't forgotten this place and lack international travel this 2020 -cause of darn COVID, so I decided to write a review and "travel" this way. I love to travel and get away, do you? This lovely mansion was built for the Archbishop of Guadalajara (Pedro Loza Y Pardave 1815-1898) in 1848. I slept one night in a upstairs bedroom that opened to view the main patio. I loved the main patio with the estrellas hanging above, adding to the magic and charm of the whole mansion. Décor was charming in my room and throughout. I remember the bed not being of a memory foam quality type of comfort -but would do, for one night. Back then, renovations were taking place on the open rooftop, but that didn't stop me or other guest from enjoying the stunning views of the city. Nice view of the Roman Catholic, Guadalajara Cathedral or also called Cathedral of Assumption of Our Lady from here. I didn't get to see the underground tunnel, as I hear, there is a "secret tunnel" leading to the Cathedral used by the Archbishop. Breakfast is included in my stay here. Service was nice and friendly. Took off a star for plumbing issues throughout the mansion, construction in some areas was a bit of an eye-sore and bed quality during my stay. I'd stay here again, if and when I'm Guadalajara, Mexico. Stay safe and healthy (mind, body and soul) Yelping in all parts of the world, out there :)

I came here to stay because it was the first time my Mom comes to Mexico and I wanted her to have an amazing experience that feels authentically close to the Mexican culture and for our surprise it was the Mexican culture inside of a hotel. It's small but full of color, personality, and warmth. The people who work here are amazing people. They are sweet, friendly, accommodating, helpful. I can keep going. The rooms are cozy. I grabbed a package where the breakfast is included. Breakfast start at 7:30am and ends at 11:00am. Luis is an amazing gentlemen. This charming former hacienda is stunning. We stayed in room 1 on the ground floor and the artisanal look and charm was evident everywhere. We were greeted promptly after figuring out where to park the car. Tip 1: If you're driving, drive up to the hotel, check in and then park across the street in the gated garage. There is no valet service at La Villa de Ensuenos, so you'll need to get your luggage and walk back across the street to the hotel. The rooms are very nice. They are beautifully decorated and have everything you would need. Tip 2: There are no mini fridges in the rooms. We were given a drink coupon for our first night and a breakfast coupon for the following morning. The courtyard, pool area, La Collection, and the eatery area are exquisite. You don't feel like you're in Tlaquepaque or even in a city. It's so quiet and refreshing. My wife was thoroughly impressed which doesn't happen very often. In Room 1, the AC unit did make a lot of noise and our bed as with most beds in Mexico was extremely firm. The hot and cold water in the bathroom worked and had excellent water pressure. We also like the little card from Mari who was are assigned housekeeper. Breakfast was delicious. Our waiter spoke both Spanish and English. They made accommodations for me as a vegan which was very nice. My coffee was hot and not weak. My wife ordered a child plate of pancakes and a side of fruit. Tip 3: Like everywhere in Mexico, the beans are fried with Manteca or pork lard. We will stay at La Villa del Ensueno again and look forward to enjoying more of the amenities.
