I'm in love with this place! First time here and I fell in love with it. This is located in Tlaquepaque. Magical town. This place is very traditional looking. I came here to stay because it was the first time my Mom comes to Mexico and I wanted her to have an amazing experience that feels authentically close to the Mexican culture and for our surprise it was the Mexican culture inside of a hotel. It's small but full of color, personality, and warmth. The people who work here are amazing people. They are sweet, friendly, accommodating, helpful. I can keep going. The rooms are cozy. I grabbed a package where the breakfast is included. Breakfast start at 7:30am and ends at 11:00am. Luis is an amazing gentlemen. Always helpful and friendly and willing to provide you more info on the breakfast you are interested in. PLEASE try "Cafe de olla" is made by Luis. He makes it so delicious! The American coffee is really good. The breakfast is full of flavor and love. "Nico" my friend Nico! I he is the most humbled person I have known. He is very helpful and willing to help if you need it. Even tho I have family here I will come back and stay because it was an amazing experience. If you come to Guadalajara, Jalisco. The room had bedbugs, the safe wasn't bolted to wall so it was a portable safe. Anyone could of walked away with it. The in room jacuzzi wasn't working. They said they would fix, they did after 2 days. The Jacuzzi by the pool wasn't working either. That one was not fixed during my stay there. The deadbolt didn't work didn't work and that patio door didn't lock. So my room was technically unlocked. The place looked beautiful, the Daytime staff was very nice, after 3 or 4 days most issues were resolved. The restaurant looked very nice but the food was very bland and had no flavor. We ate at other restaurants instead of eating their free meals since the were very good. The first 2 nights I didn't realized that all the bites on my body were actually bedbugs till I saw a tiny insect in bed. That's when it clicked and realized that the bites all over my body were not mosquito bites, that they were actually bedbugs. They only gave me a $30 refund which was ridiculous compared to all the money we spent to stay there. The place is beautiful the staff was very nice. But the management didn't want to accept responsibility. I didn't ask for a full refund, I did ask for a 50% which I felt was fair since I did stay there for almost a week. They denied my request. Don't stay there unless you like bed bugs and food with no flavor. I'm only including pictures of my legs, but these were all over my arms, torso and private area. When our plans changed and we needed a place to stay for the night, we considered some of our favorite locations in Guadalajara, but we decided to stay in Tlaquepaque and choose La Villa del Ensueno. This charming former hacienda is stunning. We stayed in room 1 on the ground floor and the artisanal look and charm was evident everywhere. We were greeted promptly after figuring out where to park the car. Tip 1: If you're driving, drive up to the hotel, check in and then park across the street in the gated garage. There is no valet service at La Villa de Ensuenos, so you'll need to get your luggage and walk back across the street to the hotel. The rooms are very nice. They are beautifully decorated and have everything you would need. Tip 2: There are no mini fridges in the rooms. We were given a drink coupon for our first night and a breakfast coupon for the following morning. The courtyard, pool area, La Collection, and the eatery area are exquisite. You don't feel like you're in Tlaquepaque or even in a city. It's so quiet and refreshing. My wife was thoroughly impressed which doesn't happen very often. In Room 1, the AC unit did make a lot of noise and our bed as with most beds in Mexico was extremely firm. The hot and cold water in the bathroom worked and had excellent water pressure. We also like the little card from Mari who was are assigned housekeeper. Breakfast was delicious. Our waiter spoke both Spanish and English. They made accommodations for me as a vegan which was very nice. My coffee was hot and not weak. My wife ordered a child plate of pancakes and a side of fruit. Tip 3: Like everywhere in Mexico, the beans are fried with Manteca or pork lard. We will stay at La Villa del Ensueno again and look forward to enjoying more of the amenities. read more

Very cute traditional hotel. The rooms have everything you need. AC, a Tv with Netflix. and 2 beautiful hidden pools. The customer service was excellent. The housekeeper Elizabeth was very sweet, and got us a refrigerator delivered to our room, when we didn't have one. It's in a great location, it was just a short 10 minute walk into town where the shops & restaurants are. We would definitely stay here again. read more

I lost my one credit card here. I asked them to help find it. I'll never know if they tried, but in the end they blamed me and told a Mexican friend of mine that I was lying, that they found the card and returned it to me. The staff neglected to do a few things I asked them to do, like turn on the hot tub. The desk clerk steered us to a very bad casual restaurant. All in all, a bad experience in a great, fun location. read more

The staff was incredibly friendly, and my goodness don't get me started on the charm of the entire villa! So much character and vibrant colors in every corner. I loved that it was a small villa as well. Very clean too. Complimentary WiFi and yummy breakfast. The location of the villa is alright. Can easily catch an Uber to downtown or city center though. I highly recommend this hotel. The staff was amazing. The rooms and grounds were Immaculate. With our stay we received a free drink at the bar and a free breakfast. The breakfast and drinks were great. The hotel is located close to a lot of restaurants and shopping areas .There is 24 hour staff and they are very vigilant of who comes in and out. We stayed at La Villa Del Ensueño over this past holiday weekend for 3 days/2 nights. From the moment we pulled up in our rental vehicle, we were immediately greeted with a smile! The doorman came out to help us with our bags and he even parked our rental car for us. Our check in time wasn't until 3pm but we arrived around 8am hoping we might be able to check in early by 12pm. To our surprise we were able to check in by 9am - at no additional charge! Our hotel stay included complimentary breakfast, and first day it was buffet style and the second day you got a menu you could order from. I ordered the chilaquiles the second day and they were amazing! We thought the hotel style and decor was pretty cool. We thought our rooms were pretty spacious (we got multiple rooms since it was 6 people) We went out the first night and we didn't get back until around 4am. We were a bit worried at first because all the doors were locked but to our surprise as soon as we rang the door bell, the door man came and opened the door for us within a few seconds The best part is how affordable this hotel stay was. It is with reluctance that I write about how GREAT Ensueño is because I don't really want people to know about this wonderful hotel! It is fairly small - only about 28 rooms - and the last time I tried to stay here, it was full. So the less people who know about it, the better ! All joking aside, Tlaquepaque is a little gem of a town just a few miles from downtown GDL and Ensueño is a gem of a hotel. Although it looks forbidding as you approach it, It is very beautiful inside. You will feel like you are in old Mexico with all the conveniences of the 21st century. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. they serve a very elegant breakfast in the price of the room and a complimentary welcome drink at their friendly bar. This is our 4th visit to Ensueño (couldn't get in twice) and we already have reservations for Nov. we've introduced friends and family to it and they love it as much as we do! read more

Stayed here for my girls birthday and it was an exceptional experience. The service was phenomenal. They have a closed parking area across the street, bar area, breakfast, pool, and jacuzzi. Anything we needed the front desk would accommodate. Have a craving for food that they don't have? no worries they will run out and get it for you. They left a bouquet of flowers the day of my girls birthday and a birthday card which was a nice touch. We stayed in a suite which had a jacuzzi tub, Netflix on the tv and air conditioning. Only downfall would be that there was no way to make the room pitch black and the sun would always creep in the morning. The morning breakfast was free but it wasn't the best. good juice and thats about it. can't recommend any of the dishes as they lacked in flavor. You're better off just exploring the city. read more

Loved our stay at this unique bed and breakfast/hotel. All the staff were amazing and a special shout out to Carlos, the bar tender, who makes the best margaritas you have ever drunk, no lie. No sickly sweetener added just fresh juices squeezed in front of you! It is a peaceful place with a lovely room and great water pressure. Parking is off the street and secure. If I had one complaint it would be the pillows. They are pretty hard but would not stop staying here again. Cute pool area too. Great value for money. read more

This is a lovely small hotel with great service and a relaxing and welcoming atmosphere. We enjoyed the fabulous breakfasts, drinks at the bar with amazing bar tender Carlos, and the pool. We booked a room with a king bed and it had a nice patio overlooking the pool. Other people had commented on Yelp that the rooms near the bar were noisy but we did not find that to be true. The staff were all very helpful and the front desk booked a driver named Raul to take us to Lake Chapala for the day. Day trips seem to be about 60-75 US dollars, so a great value. Raul is very knowledgeable about pottery, history and geography and completely bilingual. Great stay! read more

Could not be happier with this hotel!! Don't let the appearance from the street fool you. Inside the doors gates and walls of this place is a hidden paradise! Beautiful scenery in every direction! Vibrant colors, birds chirping, flowers and plants everywhere! Perfectly peaceful sitting areas all over! La Villa Del Ensueno provided the ultimate Guadalajara experience. Our room was a king suite #28. Was upstairs across the street from the main office. Had a full size fridge, sink and a little range(not that we were going to be doing any cooking) The AC was nice and cold, made the room very comfortable. The staff was Amazing!!! Every employee there, no matter what their job, was extremely friendly and helpful. If you want to stay in the room and happen to get hungry don't hesitate to call the front desk. They'll have someone run out and get what you need promptly. We were craving tacos one night and my wife was too exhausted to go out. We called the front desk and they recommended a taco stand on the corner. Within 3 minutes an employee was at my door taking my order. He even recommended what I should try from there. He ran off and was back with my food in 15 minutes. He gave me my change and my receipt but I gave it back to him and added a little more for tip. My kids brought a football and left it in the pool area and the next day an employee delivered to our door. What attention to detail that they even noticed which kids had left the little blue football!! We never had to worry about breakfast because it was included. Saturday and Sunday is a full buffet! Monday through Friday is not buffet but definitely still a full breakfast. Starting with fresh fruit, coffee and juice. Then you pick one out of money delicious entrees. I recommend the Chilaquiles with Scrambled eggs and beans. We are definitely coming back soon. La Villa Del Ensueno is going to be our go to hotel for our Guadalajara vacations!! read more

Honestly, this has been my favorite hotel stay ever. Where to begin? The place itself is within walking distance to Tlaquepaque, where all the shops, galleries, and restaurants are. Walking inside, you do not know what to expect since the outside street is quite narrow and the entrance gives no inclination of the absolute beauty that is waiting inside. You quickly realize this place is special. A little paradise. We felt very connected to nature as both sides of the hotel have greenery everywhere. We spotted gardeners tending to all the plants with care, daily. Every employee we interacted with was kind and had a positive attitude (rare nowadays). We got two free drinks upon check in. The breakfast which comes included with your stay was so lovely, we looked forward to it every day. We had fruit, cafe de olla (amazing) and then our choice of entree. During the weekend, there is a whole buffet. Our room had a lot of Spanish charm, was very clean, and our bed was comfortable. We had our own beautiful little private patio, and when we took a dip in the pool we had it all to ourselves. My bf and I enjoyed this stay so much, we hope one day we get to go back. read more

I absolutely love this hotel. I have stayed there three times, and every time I go back, I immediately feel at peace and so happy to be there. The service is incredibly friendly. The grounds are lovely and include a small art gallery and a pool. The restaurant area is bright and comfortable, and the breakfast (included) is delicious. I lingered there many mornings because I was enjoying myself so much. The rooms are comfortable and clean, and the little extras really make it special: a handmade ceramic souvenir from a local artisan, a big bottle of water, etc. I highly recommend it and hope I can go back soon! read more

This hotel/restaurant is a true gem. Hidden from the main road you will absolutely love this place. It is amazing the attention to detail, the staff, the art and the food. Omg do not waste time looking for a place to eat. The house chef is magnificent. She will cook typical Mexican food and anything else you ask for. It is so peaceful and quiet. Stayed here at the beginning and the end of our 8 day tour of Jalisco. By far the best hotel we stayed in on the trip. The staff are stellar, speak English and accommodate anything asked of them. The rooms are beautifully tiled, clean and comfortable. There are two pools and many areas to sit and relax. The garden areas are zen like. The breakfast included was delicious and the bar seems to always be open!! The zocalo, fine restaurants and artisan shopping & museum areas are just a short 10-15 minute walk from here.
