Pretty hard to find if your just walking the streets in Gamla Stan but so worth it if you find it. Excellent drinks and while we were there, they had a beer special that was up my alley- so to speak. We also enjoyed some smoked salmon for an appetizer that was awesome as well. Some colorful lights and a large umbrella with some space heaters help to take the chill out of the late summer nights. And the bartenders were spot on with a drink or beer when needed. Just what we needed after some full days of walking through the historic town that is so full of great things to see. It's not often I want to try something a second time, but this space deserves a return trip.

There were all ages here at around 9ish at night. There was about 5 people in line for the bar but luckily the two bartenders were fast. Kind of a weird bar. My co-worker and I were trying to find a place where we could lounge at late…read morehours of the evening and The Capital was an option which was close to our hotel. It's located in a hotel and used a different lift to get to the correct floor. We came in and rather loud disco music was playing. The bar was set up as a lounge which was great as they had a few different areas with booths, couches and chairs, etc. for us to relax in. The bartenders were both pretty easy to talk to and accommodating. Not sure if this is standard, but there was a police officer at the bar as well? They were good about walking around and telling everyone when last call was. They closed at 1:00 AM I think, which in that area of Sweden is pretty late. Most other places closed at 11:00 or 12:00. The view was pretty nice as it was on a higher floor, but the decor was pretty outdated. Like, early or mid 80's? Maybe even earlier than that? I don't know if the hotel is responsible for that or the business, but either way, it wouldn't hurt to update everything, or at least make the place completely retro. I'd probably pass on going here the next time I'm in Sweden.

Would love to have tried their snacks which sounded perfect with our cocktails (like Peruvian corn!) but didn't want to spoil our dinner. We came back after dinner and headed downstairs which we discovered is a late night bar. We enjoyed chatting with the bartender who recommended our next stop to us - Akkurat (amazing selection of on tap beer/pub). Downstairs and in the back is the Flying Elk which is also great with outdoor seating.

I will go through my archives and post what I have from the establishment. The employees were so sweet and truly were the cherries on top regarding our experience here. We had so much fun here we dropped over 400 bucks I feel in American Dollars. One drink we had was the gonzo. The bar manager who was there that day ( my visit was in February 2017) had recently won a Bacardi cocktail competition for Sweden and was be going on to the international competition and if she won, the gonzo would win some notoriety [think same status of staples like rum and coke, vodka tonic, etc etc, along those lines.] The club also sold a few finger foods which I don't recall too much but I do remember them being tasty. All in all pretty pricey bar in a nice area near Gamla Stan. If you need advice on visiting Sweden, go in the springtime or warmer weather as it is an country of several islands and best explored from the water.

I've also been here for a show, and this is where it gets interesting. The sound was, for a place like this, really, really good. The drums were mic'd up and things got very loud, yet still clear.
