Because of management's lack of taking responsibility for the room confusion, I can only give them one star. (I am in the travel business) We were traveling Sicily via Rome. We decided to stay somewhere new (besides the airport Hilton). When I called to inform the Tiber that our flight would be delayed, I gave them my reservation number. They told me that they had 2 reservations for us in their system. I told them that there was an error in their system as we only needed one room. We arrived near midnight so decided to discuss the matter in the morning. Long story made short: Even though I NEVER received a confirmation of a second room, they insisted that I pay for the second room. "Well, you did not cancel it in time." How am I supposed to cancel a second reservation that I did not know existed. Their reservation system never sent a confirmation email for the second room, yet I was held accountable. They said that the reservation was in their system. I said I did not have a second confirmation number/email. They said that that did not matter and that I had to pay for the room. They never showed me proof. They even told me that they thought it was strange that I had two of the exact same reservations made one minute apart on their website. I had even communicated via email about the shuttle, but they never mentioned a second reservation. The fact that there was no email for the second room was dealt with a shrug. They lost a customer. The photos show that there was mold behind the faucet and by the shower surround. The air conditioning unit rattled all night. A previous guest had placed some business cards to try to stop the rattling. The mini fridge smelled so badly of spoiled milk that the smell permeated the room in 30 seconds. Check out staff was indifferent when my husband pointed out these issues. The breakfast was lacking 3 out of 10.

We needed somewhere to stay the night before our flight home and we got a great deal at Hotel Tiber. The hotel itself was very nice. We had a balcony room looking out at the port and the room was very clean and roomy. The shower was a bit strange as it did not have a door across the whole length which caused water to drench the floor outside the shower. We first hoped to be able to order room service since we had been traveling all day and were exhausted but alas the menu was so limited. There was also a restaurant on the first floor which seemed to be mainly seafood which we don't really eat (I can't eat it). To our dismay, we were in a fisherman town and basically everywhere had fish so we decided on pizza. Overall, it was a nice stay. I had booked an early shuttle with them (6 euro pp fee) and then realized our flight was later and they allowed us to go back up to our room and take a later shuttle. We also had their free breakfast which was pretty standard for Italy--meats, cheese, pastries coffee and juice.

Our family of eight recently cruised the western Mediterranean. Our departure port was Civitavecchia, Italy, and we needed a one night pre-cruise hotel stay prior to departure. We decided on Hotel Tibor, a contemporary hotel located 15 minutes by shuttle from Rome's Fumincino airport. All of us were super impressed with Hotel Tiber. The rooms were predictably small, but totally up to date and well appointed- ideal for the overnight traveler. The property itself was beautifully located on a canal, with a terrific roof top bar and breakfast facility. We loved it! Hotel Tiber is a perfect choice for a pre-cruise or pre-flight stay. It's affordable, modern, functional, quiet and beautifully located.

Convenient resting point between trips. Look for their free airport shuttle outside of Terminal…read more3, Entrance 3 and across the street. The reliable shuttle comes every 10-15 minutes. The rooms are quiet and the best plus which isn't even mentioned on their website is the self service laundry room on the second floor. You will need 6 euros, 50 cents, one or two euros coins. They don't make change so come prepared. The breakfast buffet is fine (wish they had hazelnuts or walnuts for the cereal), but I really love the club sandwich (I always order it for lunch), if you arrive later then the fare now isn't as good. They used to have really good pizzas, but have dropped them from the menu. The front desk said their bar could do a Hugo Spritz, but they don't have all the ingredients. Major disappointment! We arrived early but found a clean room which may be because we are Hilton Honors or I am using my AMEX Hilton Honors card. One of my favorite layovers. Looking forward to coming back in two weeks to see if they found some St. Germaine.

A couple of important things: 1) This hotel is completely isolated. It looks close to the airport…read moreon the map but for some reason the road is long and windy and you are in the middle of a field with no where to walk to. It does not feel like Italy at all. 2) The shuttle wait was around 20 minutes, not 15 and we were not aware that the shuttle is actually a public bus used by airport employees and makes at least 5 stops between the hotel and airport. The line at the hotel was also huge and some people did not get on, so plan accordingly. My husband and I stayed here for one night because we wanted to be by the airport for our flight the next morning. When we arrived we waited in a long line at reception and then asked for the front desk to check us in and order a taxi to Ostia Antica, a Roman ruin about 20 minutes away. We wanted to get back to exploring Italy on our last day and not be stuck in the hotel. The woman at the reception was confusing as she said a room was ready and then she said I'm not going to give you that room. She also could not comprehend that we would want a taxi to leave the isolated hotel. It was a very odd experience, but we did end up having our bags held in their storage closest and getting a taxi. The taxi was expensive and I should have looked at uber instead because our uber back was much cheaper. Ostia Antica is a really cool ancient ruin and archeological site and the village is adorable and has a castle. I highly recommend checking it out if you get to this hotel during the day. When we got back to the hotel in the evening we got the room keys. It's an old hotel with odd, sometimes scary decor (clown pictures) and they forgot to put shampoo in our shower. They sent us up shampoo and we just needed a place to stay before our flight so it was fine, but the cost was too high in my opinion and I think people should strongly consider their options before choosing this hotel.

Fiumicino, Italy…read more "Hotel Around Fig Tree" is what the name of this hotel means, and there is a beautiful healthy fig tree center stage as you walk onto the property. The figs were small and green, just emerging during mid September, we missed their peak stage by about a month. *small but clean quaint property *comfortable beds-no frills but adequate and minimalist with modern flare *rooftop lounge with ocean views? (I missed it!) *dining on site, breakfast included with stay-more than adequate! *minutes from airport shuttle available *great shampoo, wish they sold it! *a few blocks walk to the ocean/beach DH chose this hotel as a resting place after our flight into Fiumicino, Italy. After a long flight, and a Garmin inability to find this place, we finally put in the name of the street and came right upon the hotel (print out directions prior to arriving or use google maps). The hotel also has a shuttle if needed which many guests were taking advantage of, its only minutes away from the airport. We just needed a place to rest for a night before heading north, this is located about 30 minutes from Rome City Center. We arrived on property about 8:30 in the evening and were so glad to be greeted by Stefano and offered dinner at the hotel if we were so inclined, to allow us not have to go out after a long day of travel. We dined al fresco while Stefano warmed my husbands favorite lasagna of the trip (the hotel has a chef who comes in and preps the food). Stefano also made us a mushroom pizza and garnished with fresh basil from the herb garden in the patio. We dined with a sweet Italian couple from NY who also loved the quaint feel of the property, they ordered the pizza and some meatballs and said the meatballs were good. They too, were staying for one night on the tail end of their trip, they had dropped their rental car off and would be shuttled to the airport by hotel staff for their early AM flight, The outside of the street area (street parking) is within a neighborhood which looks slightly sketch but was safe for us. There were many local teens walking around, looked to be the typical Italian city back road neighborhood. The property itself is gated. We would return to this property.

I opened my carry-on bag once and only once on my trip to my destination - inside my hotel room at the Comfort Inn. I removed everything from my bag, including my $400 camera. In the morning, I thought I had put everything back into my bag, but neglected to put my camera in. When I arrived at my next destination, I found my camera was gone. The only place it had been taken out of the bag was in my room at the Comfort Inn. It is certain that this is the only place I could have left it. I sent an email to the hotel inquiring whether they had found my camera. The next day I received a response indicating that the camera was not found. I have no reason to believe that the Hotel's management was knowingly untruthful to me, but I am certain that my camera was left in the room. What happened to it from there, I do not know, but most hotel cleaning staff return items they find to a "lost and found" draw at the hotel in case the owner contacts the hotel. In my case, my camera was not returned. I am very disappointed. The camera was very important to me and I had been willing to return to the hotel to retrieve it, if they confirmed their possession of it.
