Toilet & bidet with towel rack

This is a cute boutique hotel in Rome very near the Termini station. My view from my room was the train station..lol. It has onlyone elevator and only big enough for 4 people tops. Rooms are nice and clean. They even have a nespresso machine for you. They have complimentary water daily which was great for making your espresso. They have a cute roof top dining area for the daily breakfast which was great and included in your stay. At night you they had an entertainer singing so it was great for drinks and conversation. Staff were all very nice and helpful.

This hotel is on my top list of all time hotels I've ever stayed at. At the time of my stay, the Delta Covid variant was new and spreading fast and Italy required citizens to have green passes (a QR code) as proof of vaccination, however, Americans were allowed to show their vaccination cards as proof. Covid safety is a top concern for Italy so it's possible some of my experiences could be different than most will have later on. My daughter and I have only traveled to English and Spanish speaking only countries so this was our first trip where we would not know the country's primary spoken language. The staff does speak fluent English and will help you when you have questions about your trip outside of the hotel. They are very welcoming! They stand to greet their guest. To the owner of this hotel, if you are reading this, I can say this with all seriousness, give them all raises. I plan to do more wonderful reviews because of your staff. Check in was quick! Our flight arrived in early AM and they were able to get us in our room with some free upgrades by noon. I expected a small room and what I got was well above my expectations. The shower and bathtub are large with plenty of hot water. The hotel did have a hair dryer and they provided little shampoos, conditioners, lotion and soaps like most hotels do. They had a magnifying mirror mounted to the wall, which seems like a small detail, but for those of us who have a hard time seeing to apply our eyeliners and mascaras its a detail worthy of mentioning. Our room was on the side of a street. Noise was not an issue. The view was nice. The room offered a mini fridge stocked with waters and alcohol, a cappuccino machine, large flat screen TV ( we never turned on. But it's there) plenty of pillows, luggage rack, table, sofa for sitting, a safe, plenty of closet space and chairs. The photos on the walls were great too! I will say the room lacked space to put away my folded items. Breakfast is lovely. If you're expecting a southern pancakes with waffles buffet this is not what they eat in Italy and you probably won't find a place that serves this type of food. The hotel's breakfast featured a barista to make your Cappuccinos and all other delectable coffees and teas. They served toast with fruit spreads, eggs, yogurt, bacon, juice and some pastries. This is currently not the type of buffet where everyone grabs a plate and gets in line. Guest sit down and wait until it's their turn to be served. Covid related service? I'm not sure, but it was pleasant either way. The breakfast is served on the 8th floor, or roof top. In the evening, the roof top turns into a quaint bar of sorts. This is where you can go to grab some adult beverages or sit and enjoy the views of the city. What I loved most about the roof top, its a SAFE place for your young ADULT daughter to have an adult beverage so mom can go to bed and not have to worry about their daughter's safety. Location, location, location!!! The location is perfect. The train and bus stations are around the corner AND it's right next to the place you need to go for a free rapid Covid test, if America is still requiring them to enter the country. It opens at 8am, but start lining up around 7 am. It took us a good 3 hrs to have our results in hand. This isn't just any train station. This is the main train station. The one with shopping, not great, but nonetheless it's there. Download the Trenitalia app and you're all set! You can easily get to the Vatican and to and from the airport in about 20 mins for about a $1 per person. The trains are climate controlled and clean. Lots of seats. I'll wrap this up. I LOVED this hotel. The staff, the clean and quiet rooms and the location make this a complete win!

Wonderful hotel within a short walk of both the main train station that connects to both the DaVinci airport and the rest of the metro system. In the opposite direction, it's within walking distance of the Trevi fountains and the Pantheon. My stay was during October 2018. The rooms are small but fine for two people without much luggage. I was surprised at how much security there was - at least 3 locked doors between the outside world and our room. That's comforting because there are physical keys rather than key cards. The accomodations were really comfortable and stylish. The bathroom was a bit cramped - definitely can't get ready while another person is in there. I had no idea how to use the bidet as it was a little different than the ones I've seen back in the US. Service is fantastic and friendly and the Wi-Fi is free and a decent speed. There is also a discount if you stay again within 6 months. If I were to go to Rome again, I'd stay here again.

This is a hotel I stayed at 1 night for ease to the train station to get to the airport the night before my flight home. For that reason it's 4 stars. Otherwise I wouldn't choose this location if I were staying in Rome long term. The hotel is clean and the room I had was modern and had a balcony with a nice view. The rooftop bar also used for breakfast in the morning was a nice perk. The breakfast was below the standards I had at my previous hotels. It perfectly reasonable. For me this is probably a 3.5 stars no complaints but nothing super impressive. Again great if you want to be near the train station but otherwise there are areas in the city I would prefer to stay. There is a very nice restaurant option 1-2 blocks away called Culinaria also fun to check out eatily also a few blocks a way.

The location is so convenient as it's only a couple blocks from the train station. The staff was friendly and helpful. The condo was beautiful inside with a great amount of space and a beautiful view. I wish I had planned to be there longer. My cousins were planning a trip and I've already recommended this place to them. If it's good enough for me and my family then I'd recommend it to anyone!

PERFECT. I've stayed in a lot of hotels for my short 22 years...the Bellagio in Las Vegas being 2nd best to the Independent Hotel. Why?! Why would the best hotel in Las Vegas hold a candle to this hotel...well SERVICE. That's why. This hotel had IMPECCABLE service, in fact, it's probably among the best service I've ever received in my entire life. From giving me a portable International phone with a WiFi hotspot to take everywhere that i went (even when i left the hotel), free hotel room upgrade when i returned in the middle of the night a week later to fly out the next morning, calling several cabs (actually really, a lot of them), making reservations, finding better restaurants for me when others were booked, a FANTASTIC bartender that was very accommodating and creative (and had my new favorite liquor - Purity Vodka)...the list goes on...and on...and on. I couldn't recommend this hotel HIGHLY ENOUGH 12/10 stars - highly recommend. If a friend or myself ever come back to Rome (high probability) - the Independent Hotel would be the only hotel I'd stay at.

The staff left us this bottle of wine and note - what a nice touch!

By Rome standards for a full-service hotel, it would be considered affordable by many. But just to be clear, it is not ultra-inexpensive. For the money, it is firmly in the 4-star hotel genre (getting a 5-star Yelp rating from me within this category because I could find nothing wrong with it during my stay). So, while it may not have crystal chandeliers and butlers running around, it is definitely not a student tourist level hostel. It has modern, comfortable public spaces, elevators that hold more than 2 people at a time, a restaurant with a good breakfast spread, and well-appointed guest rooms with modern amenities and AC. I really don't need more than that when I am traveling solo for business so it was perfect for me given that set of circumstances. As a comparison, I have stayed at a 5-star Rome hotel which was absolutely a step up in terms of service, luxury features, and a sense of a personal attention. But when I am alone on business, that level of service is not necessary and can feel uncomfortable to me. There are plenty of cafe's and restaurants within a 10 min walk and it is a reasonable walk to attractions such as the Opera House, the Coliseum, and the Trevi Fountain. It is also a 10-minute walk to the main terminal Rome train station and the cool, local Nuovo Mercato Esquilino if you are into that type of thing like I am. I spent early mornings walking somewhere for coffee and then through the Mercato to watch the vendors work to ready their produce and meat to be pawed over by early restauranteurs which was a cool look at the underbelly life of this great city. I really liked that this hotel is not right up against the busy street and, on at least 2 sides of the building, there are streets that are not constantly jammed with the noise of traffic. My room fronted one of the quiet sides. It is unclear to me if I was upgraded to a nicer than standard room location because of my Hilton loyalty status but I had a very quiet stay in a room that was impeccably clean and could be easily darked out during the day if I needed a restorative nap for my jet lag. The gym was reasonably appointed and open 24/7 and the wi-fi speed was top notch. I had a great stay here for the money. Based on all of this, when in Rome in the future as a solo business traveler, I would be very happy to stay here again.

That made the location extremely convenient. The hotel sits a short walk from Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, where Pope Francis is buried. Some areas near the main train station are often described as unsafe by Italian standards. We did not experience that near the hotel. Tourists and locals were out late, and the neighborhood stayed active into the evening. Rome is compact and easy to navigate. Most major attractions felt reachable within about 20 minutes by taxi, bus, or rail. We tried to visit the Trevi Fountain at 10:00 pm to avoid crowds. That plan failed completely(see pic). It was packed. Locals eat later than in the U.S., and many parts of the city stay busy well into the night. Restaurants remain open late. A note for U.S. travelers. European hotel rooms run smaller for the price. Even using Hilton points, our room would have cost close to $700 per night USD and felt small. The hotel offers a pleasant rooftop bar and a spacious lobby with multiple seating areas. The buffet breakfast was a solid, comfortable way to start the day. It was included for us as Hilton Diamond members. I am unsure of the cash price. Overall, the location and amenities make this a smart pre-cruise choice, especially for travelers relying on rail connections.
