Honestly, the only thing not to like about this place is the pricing. But, the pricing is justified based on the establishment and offerings. You want nice, you sometimes need to pay for nice. ;) It is perfectly located at the top of the main tourist area of Bellagio. They have rooms for short-term stays and "residence" rooms for longer stays. A couple of different restaurants, both with amazing views of the lake and overlooking their pool. Very cool, smaller sized bar with a great selection of spirits. They also have their own spa for anyone needing more relaxation. If you have the funds, book yourself a room and make reservations at both restaurants. After your meals, stroll out the front gate and walk around the shops and other restaurants that make Bellagio such a magical place. Enjoy! read more

This place was amazing. This review is about the hotel bar and Mistral the restaurant. The bar - the attention was fabulous. My husband ordered a gin and tonic. They said there is an experience with it. So they sprayed aromas and added floral pieces into his drink. He said it was delicious. They brought us some aperitif to have while we ate. Mistral. Worth every penny. Every course is explained to you. Our food and fishes were delicious. They changed our napkins 3 times. They would refill our water as soon as we put it down. If I left they would put my napkin back in my lap. There were no gaps in service. Ur all flowed well. It was a few hours with the most spectacular view of Lake Como and 5 star food. The hotel is located with easy access to everything you need and want in Bellagio. It is old world with modern conveniences. The most delightful staff! Everyone from the concierge to the bartenders. Just lovely. You can rely on the concierge recommendations without hesitation. Enjoy nightly piano music both on the outside terrace bar as well as the formal lounge. Be sure to get breakfast every morning. The buffet is special. Fresh squeezed juice. Fresh baked croissants. House made jams. Perfectly ripe fruits. Local prosciutto. The only negative for us was that we booked a lake front room. Our friends did the same. They got a room with a clear view of the lake and pool. Our view was very much obscured by the roofline, as we were on the top (3rd) floor. As this is an old villa, all rooms are not created equal. read more

This hotel is absolutely incredible! My family and I stayed here in late July 2023 (yes, I'm aware this review is a bit late) and it as amazing. We were greeted by someone who offered to take our bags up to our rooms and give us a short tour of the hotel. Over the next four days we were pampered with some of the most luxurious service I have ever seen in my life. Each morning we had a delicious breakfast and then off we went, exploring the towns that surround Lake Como, relaxing in the hotel pools, and swimming in the lake. The town Villa Serbelloni is located in is called Bellagio and it is a gem. There are many lovely restaurants as well as shops and there is a ferry that takes you to the other parts of the lake. The rooms at Villa Serbelloni are amazing. I believe the hotel is one of the two five star hotels on Lake Como and it definitely shows. This place is so beautiful and posh. I highly recommend it to anyone who is considering staying in Lake Como! read more

This is for ristorante Mistral. When we arrived at the restaurant I was notified that I did not meet the dress code, which requires than men wear pants and not shorts. I told them that the website did not mention this and the host/manager told me I was wrong. I asked about switching the reservation to another night then the cancellation fee was brought up, but in my opinion it's not really a cancellation if you're forcing me to cancel due to lack of communication from the restaurant. The website does not mention the dress code, nor does the booking site The Fork. This restaurant is in a touristy area with guests from various cultures and they need to be transparent about any requirements in order to dine there. The US has restaurants with three Michelin stars that allow casual wear, which they communicate clearly. Also it's zero help to put the dress code in the menu at the table. The diners are already there. Pictures of the website are attached. Thankfully, they sat us outside and we had a pleasant experience with delicious dishes and excellent service, except for the one server that eyed my bare knees during our walk of shame to be seated. read more

Wow! The view is absolutely spectacular. The service is so amazing. They treat you like a queen. A glass of wine is €12 but that equates to about US in a city and with the wine you will have a big dish of smoked salted almonds a big dish of amazing amazing olives, a bigger dish of chips. It's quiet and peaceful up here it is October it's still summer weather. I'm wearing a strapless dress. They say the seasons are shifting later. Perfect time for Italy! I also have the salad Nicole absolutely tremendous, fresh, and the best tuna fillet. Amazing! I broke up for my group, so they're all or no loud Americans and I'm spending my entire time looking at the view which I can't get over. This hotel is at the end of the 1 Main St. in Bellagio and you may be thank you can't get in but you just asked the guard and they open the door and they let you up to the side because it is a hotel and at first I thought only hotel guests could go but absolutely not you must go.! read more

Great grand hotel, best in Bellagio. While there are other luxury hotels, they are all in towns that are a bit out of the way. If this is your first trip to the Lake Como area, Bellagio is probably the best starting point to explore surrounding towns and villas. You are within walking distance to a large number of restaurants. This hotel has great amenities and best location, very picturesque and has a amazingly maintained park, most tourists will not see it as you need to traverse the hotel to get to it. Have you ever wondered what it must be like to stay at George Clooney's villa on Lake Como? Maybe? No? Regardless, this is about as close as you are going to get. Villa Serbelloni is one of the oldest hotels in Lake Como. It sits on the edge of Bellagio, the picturesque town with stone streets, little shops and mind blowing views. Getting here can be a bit of an ordeal. It's best to fly into Milan and drive north towards Como. It's about an hour and a half drive. As soon as you hit the lake, you will be so astonished by the natural beauty that surrounds you, you won't even notice the drive. The hotel is an old European hotel in every way. Funky old bathrooms. Twin beds pushed together to form a king. Dark hallways, and ceilings. The wifi works a little some days and not at all on others. You are probably wondering, why would you opt for that? But it really feels like you are in a villa on Lake Como. This place embodies the history of this impressive lake. Sit and sip on cocktails nightly on their outdoor patio that overlooks the lake. Enjoy live music and relish in each moment. Buffet breakfast was not only one of the largest spreads I saw on our trip, complete with meats, pastries, fruits, eggs and more and it was served in an elegant room, fit for a princess. It felt like a room straight out of Versailles. Etro, the famous designer from Milan, has outfitted the bathroom with their designer toiletries. I definitely took these home as souvenirs. This is one of the places where it's worth every penny to splurge for the lake view room. Just do it. It's expensive, but as you sit staring out your balcony, admiring one of the most beautiful sunsets you will ever see, you'll thank yourself. Dinner at the formal Mistral michelin-starred restaurant was lovely. The service was superb. The live jazz band soothing, the views magnificent and the food to match. I've been thinking about the spaghetti for weeks. Also order the nitrogen ice cream for a table side presentation you are sure not to forget. When your time at Serbelloni is over, you'll feel like you really understand why George spends so much time in this magical place. read more

It is so beautiful here. Every inch of the property is elegant and special. JFK stayed here along with FDR, Winston Churchill, Douglas Fairbanks, and Al Pacino. We had dinner at the 1-star Michelin Ristorante Mistral and it was fabulous. Certainly worth 3 stars in my book. The food and service was unsurpassed. The live music and ambiance made celebrating my birthday here the right choice! The violinist serenaded me with the Happy Birthday sing while a beautiful cake was delivered. We had lunch here with friends, who had stayed twice at the hotel before. This time they were staying with us at our holiday home at the lake. Our friends had booked a table in advance, but when we arrived there was no available table, and they couldn't even manage to arrange for us to wait at the bar, but sent us upstairs on an empty terrace with no shade of the sun! Oh, the clumsiness, and rudeness!!! After 20 minutes we couldn't take it anymore (the heat was unbearable, and they seemed to have forgotten us), so we just told them to fix it, or we would be leaving. First then did they manage to fix us a table, probably because some guests happened to be leaving ... The service thereafter was fine, and the food was ok but nothing more than that. The situation of the hotel and restaurant is nice, but the view is nothing compared to my favourite places along the lake. I did immensely enjoy, though, watching all the players on the stage ;-) That in itself is the only reason to check in at the restaurant/hotel. Been there, done that. read more

Amazing hotel. I can't say enough about the decor, service and the views. This place is VERY expensive but I say worth it. My ONLY gripe is the wifi. They do have it but EVERY TIME you leave the hotel and return you must do the log in again. Ok, small complaint but this is 2015 and everyone is looking for wifi especially while traveling. read more

Beautiful location, looks like a movie set! Attentive staff, lovely pool area and a full service spa make this a must-go when on Lake Como.
