The moment you walk in, there is so much peace and tranquility even though on the main road (calle 62) there is a lot of noise with just the cars driving by. The VIP hotel only has 6 suites however we still had an outdoor swimming pool with lounge chairs. The rooms are quite spacious, clean, and comfortable. The super tall ceilings and decor of the hotel truly transport you back to the hacienda days in Mexico. I did partake on ordering drinks poolside since its so hot/humid out there so thats also an option. I didn't see many other guests there since people are usually out on their tours or walking around getting familiar with the city. The concierge are super helpful providing ideas/suggestions on things to do or would recommend places if you ask. One day it was raining and they brought me an umbrella to me right before I walked out for a tour. I would recommend adding a small fridge to the room just so guests can store water. This is a boutique hotel you definitely want to enjoy their well maintained facilities and take advantage of everything offered.

We love the location and its neo-colonial Spanish architectural style as opposed to some of the modern glass-and-steel corporate hotels that could easily be found here in the U.S. or anywhere around the world for that matter. Our room was very nicely appointed, clean, spacious with natural light and cozy bed and pillows. The bathroom was big with double sinks, a huge modern walk-in shower with bench, and a partition that separated the toilet from the rest of the bathroom. With our connecting flight from Mexico City being delayed several hours, informed the front desk we'd be arriving late (after 1am), and the associate was very pleasant and helpful ensuring us our room would be ready when we arrived. An "A" for effort! Breakfast buffets at Stephens' restaurant were large and offered a wide variety of delicious, tasty, and an uber scrumptious authentic Yucatan food daily. Pollo caldo with limon y cebolla and salchichas got to be my favourites. For the not so adventourous foodies, the buffet also included standard American eats. Gym was somewhat of a let down for me. Small with only one treadmill, a stationary bike and some multi-weight equipment. There were no dumbbells or kettlebells and foam rolls available. Courtyard and pool is small but nice. Fountains surrounded by lush greenery provides a peaceful ambient environment in which to relax. Fresh towels were available on the lounge chairs. Staff is very cheerful and exceptionally helpful throughout our stay. This was the type of service we've encountered not only at the hotel, but throughout the community. From restaurants to boutique shoppes to tourist attractions, where ever we went everyone was delightful and went out their way to assist. Great location. A walking distance to Paseo de Montejo. Other establishments surrounding this hotel are Oxxo, Fiesta Americana, Hyatt, Holiday Inn., etc. Recommend using city taxis over Uber as there is an ongoing dispute between the City of Mérida and Uber. Overall, our stay was pleasant and definitely consider as our top choice when going back to Mérida. One word of caution...since the hotel's layout is very open and the floors are tiled, noise can carry which may be a disadvantage if you are looking for that tranquil spa like experience. The windows have two blinds, one for blocking out the light completely and another for privacy from the courtyard below with pool and seating. The pool wasn't big but had several shelves of levels of depth. It had a fountain in the background that provided some peaceful ambient sound. The lounge chairs has fresh towels for drying off, though when many people come and go they can be depleted fast. The bathrooms were spacious with an open shower and a hidden toilet but no door separating it. The amenities were nice and were nicely stocked. There was a mini fridge which was locked, and a coffee maker but only one bottle of water for making a brew. Staff was pleasant and helpful in getting a taxi driver to take us to Uxmal and back for the day. Not the fanciest Intercontinental, but still a nice hotel.

The beds were not very well taken care of with two flat sheets and no actual sheet to keep warm, my parents had to fix it twice during our stay.

There are two different terrace areas where customers can smoke, or we enjoyed just sitting outside and soaking in the fresh air. Our room was spacious and included a ceiling fan and air conditioner for the warm evenings. We could also open the window to get fresh air. We loved that the room also had Netflix as we could unwind with a favorite show or two. The breakfasts served each morning were great. The staff was super friendly and even helped us out when one of our tour companies changed our pick-up time. The staff was always available to help answer questions or provide advice on things to do or places to see. The location of the hotel was perfect - just a quick walk to the parks or the Cathedrals, and close to many great dinner options. For all of these features, the hotel was super affordable and we would highly recommend it to anyone!

The beds are hard, but very comfortable, and the shower is nice and hot. There is a mini fridge, but there was no coffee maker in the room, when we asked for one, they brought us some weard coffee maker that takes little capsules. There are two swimming pools, one that belongs to room # 1 and a larger pool for the Hotel, however it's very hard to climb out if you are not young and skinny, I really had a hard time getting out of the pool. Please invest in a hand rail or banister. Just because of the pool not having one, we will not return. The room comes with Breakfast, and that was very good. Large olympic sized swimming pool with hammocks suspended over the water at one end, and beautiful grounds. In the morning, we were brought complementary coffee to our room The hacienda is in the middle of nowhere, about a 1.5 miles (2km) up a potholed road off of the highway. There is a very nice pool with a large shallow area that is great for small children, and a separate, glassed-in hot-tub area. The first-floor mall has some very nice store for browsing and shopping. The rooms are nice, and spotlessly clean. We've always found the staff to be friendly and helpful. We've used the laundry service and the spa services, and they were great. The breakfast buffet is first-rate. There's a huge selection, and everything is delicious. The hotel is half a block from Paseo de Montejo, a beautiful place for a morning walk. I can't think of a single thing I'd change about Fiesta Americana!

The rooms are stocked with an abundance of towels and products. Oh, and I was surprised to discover that there were enough hangers. The other restaurant serves a breakfast buffet which was not something I chose to indulge in a second time. The staff are what makes this hotel worthwhile. The front desk and housekeeping staff are simply the sweetest and most industrious group of people i've encountered in years. We chose a room overlooking the courtyard since I'm not a night owl. If you choose to face the city, be prepared to hear music and conversations late into the night. The entry level houses a small mall where you can find touristy goods like, clothes and jewelry. There's a Chili's restaurant on the ground floor but why? You can walk around the city and find delicious food at high and low prices. You can find beautiful hand crafted items to take home or adorn yourself with in town. But you have to be willing to venture out. We spent 13 nights at the Fiesta Americana. Overall, I would say it was reasonably priced with great service. One star removed due to the lack of a qualified and knowledgeable concierge and because the breakfast bit was an overpriced disappointment.
