We had Houle Insulation out to assess our attic's needs. We had insulation blown in 30+years ago when we bought but then just forgot about it. The owner came out, inspected, explained in detail what we needed and gave us a quote. He also offered that Xcel was offering a rebate for some of the work we needed down and they would file all the paperwork for it. He was on time, personable and professional and the bid was reasonable and fair. We had the work done and the crew that did the work was on time, efficient, did an excellent clean up after the work was done. They did file the rebate and we received it in the time Xcel said it would take to receive it. It's rare these days to find a business that is honest, timely and fair with respectful crews but Houle Insulation was all of that and more. I would HIGHLY recommend them and in all honesty I am a hard to please customer because I won't "settle" for less than I expect. These guys are good. Because they are good they are busy so just know it may take a little longer to get scheduled but the wait is worth it! We have noticed a huge difference this winter. I cannot speak highly enough of Houle Insulation. Today Todd from Houle came by my house, after inspecting the attic he told me that the insulation I already had was sufficient and installed properly. He said that he wouldn't take my money just to add to or replace what was already there. I was shocked, because another company had quoted me over $3800 recently without ever bothering to tell me I didn't need it. Nothing but great things to say about Houle and the team. Everyone was friendly and helpful, the crew that came out to give the estimate and do the work was on time, efficient, and everything was spotless when they left. I don't know anything about insulation or the science stuff, but they improved by air leakage over 1000 "points" (whatever unit it's measured in), and they will submit paperwork on my behalf to qualify my home for the energy tax credit. They are A rated on Angie's List and have a pristine BBB record. Houle offers a 5% discount to Angie's List members, and if you get a couple neighbors to also do work they'll give a bit more discount. I was given an honest and fair assessment of the problem. He was not looking for me to spend any more money that absolutely necessary and in no way took advantage of my lack of knowledge. This company knows how to properly install insulation (many do not). At this is key for long term benefits. We had our attic redone by Houle and what a diffeence it made in our second story warmth, especially during the winter (1970 built home).
