I'll start by saying Loyear never actually did any work for me - which is, in a strange way, exactly why I recommend them. Shortly after moving into our new place, we noticed an area of water damage in the wall and flooring from a leaking drain pipe, which the previous owners had covered with furniture during our inspection. We had the leak itself fixed by Tonka Plumbing, and requested an estimate from Loyear for the remediation work. When Gary showed up, he had a mask, booties, everything you'd expect in 2020. He listened to what our issues were, inspected the damage, pulled out his cool infrared gadget, and gave us his estimate. The surprise came when he then told us that - as much as no business likes to turn down business - our issue was one we could probably handle ourselves. Instead of simply taking our money, he suggested that we give it a go, and call him back if the issue turned out to be larger than we were comfortable handling on our own. So there you have it. 5-star review for a company I never actually hired -specifically because of an estimator's honesty and frankness. Highly recommend this business. I started having some allergy symptoms in my home, so finally out of desperation, called this company. I spoke with Joanne first and she spent nearly 20 minutes on the phone with me going over all the possible causes and sharing so much insight she had learned over the years. She was so kind and reassured me they could help me figure it out or point me in the right direction. Then she called one of her guys and he was over in about a half hour! He was incredibly nice as well - easy going with my dogs, complemented my home, and said he wanted to ensure they helped me out. He found no obvious signs of mold or issues, but we discussed next steps and he offered to send me some contact information for other experts to further investigate. Didn't charge me anything and sure enough, followed up with the info. Even though nothing was done, the peace of mind was enough for me that day. As every homeowner knows, when you have a flooded basement every minute counts before it turns into a costly disaster. Unfortunately there are companies out there ready to take advantage of emergencies like this. I had such a situation in my hands on labor day weekend. Fortunately, I found Loyear Disaster Restoration Services and they saved me from spending thousands and treated my home with great care. My basement utility room and surrounding carpet flooded with water released from the nearby washing machine. After drying as much as I could and frantically making numerous phone calls trying to find an available plumber (apparently everyone runs into plumbing issues during holidays .... ), I hired Roto Rooter to clear the tree roots from my sewer pipe (partial blockage) and to do the basement water restoration. Well, guess what?, they didn't do either one (see my Roto Rooter review for that story). Finally on Tuesday, day after Labor day, I ran into recommendations for this company and I called them. John Loyear (owner) personally called me shortly after and within 15 minutes their technician arrived to my house (Tyler) as he had just finished a job nearby. He assessed the situation and gave me options. He did what was needed to prevent mold immediately (measured humidity on the walls and carpet, pulled back the base trims and carpet, and removed carpet pad all around the utility room) and left 3 high power commercial fans for days to dry the walls. It was good that I frantically dried as much as I could and placed my fans everywhere when it first happened. A few days later, Gary came and re-measured the humidity on the walls. They were all dry except for a small portion on a baseboard corner so he left the fans for a few more days. Once everything was dried up and per my request, Gary and a carpet installer came back and install new carpet pad, re-stretched the original carpet in place and Tyler came back and completely cleaned the carpet. The whole team was a pleasure to work with from the owner to every technician that came to my house. John (owner) was regularly in contact with his technicians and scheduled any additional request I had very quickly. I got a business card from one of your guys and I'm going to tape it on the walls of the utility room (in case it ever happens again). My basement has never looked as dry and clean as it looks today. It's really nice to run across a company with true integrity. They were upfront and honest and carried out the task with all that they agreed to do. They helped by letting me ask all the questions I needed to ask and they provided above and beyond all of the information I needed to make the decisions best suited to my needs. These guys are awesome! My kitchen faucet sprung a leak that was almost impossible to stop! After 40 minutes of constant running water - my kitchen floor and basement were soaked. Loyear did an amazing job when I had a minor oven fire that required my whole apartment to be cleaned for the smoke damage. They met up with me probably within an hour when I called them, walked me through everything during what was already a stressful time, and were great advocates and handled everything with my renters insurance and my building management, which involved quite a lot of back and forth. They also always showed up on time when they said they would. I wasn't especially looking forward to returning home after being displaced for about a week (it was the scene of the incident!) but Loyear did such a great job, and my place feels like home again. I called Loyear when my son noticed water dripping from the ceiling in the family room. We didn't know where the water was coming from so I had them come out to investigate. They were very thorough, checking everything with meters. The technician discovered that the toilet was leaking on the second floor and water was running down through through a closet on our main level then into the family room in the basement. The technician (I think his name was Bill) was able to shut off the water to the toilet stopping the leak. Once the extent of the damage was discovered he set up professional fans and dehumidifiers to dry the bathroom floor and under the cabinet, the walls and floor in the closet and the family room ceiling and a wet spot on the carpet. They had everything cleaned up and back to new in no time! read more

The President John Loyear came himself to troubleshoot the cause of three stains near my exterior wall and ceiling. He was very professional and knowledgeable. He examined thoroughly all the possible causes to my stains. John even went up into my unfinished attic, which was very difficult to access, and found the source of the problem. He was incredibly honest and said that his company did not specialize in proper ventilation, which was what I needed and he directed me to the type of company that would be able to help me. He took pictures showing proof of condensation in my attic and sent them to me, along with a list of good handymen that could repair my stained areas. He took the time to educate me. We needed to have mold removed in a basement that required treatment of the mold and removal of some affected cabinets. The work was reasonably priced and completed in a very timely manner. DO NOT USE THESE GUYS!! A little over 2 years ago they "cleaned" all the contents of an apartment with smoke damage. Due to issues it had been packed and moved to storage until the insurance process caught up. This company sent 4 guys with rags and unmarked spray bottles. The 4 guys were suppose to sort out stuff that should be thrown, like food. They didn't. One guy said a box of Mac and cheese was "safe" because he'd cleaned the box. They were also supposed to check with me to see what was going into deep storage and what was suppose to finally come home. They didn't. They were suppose to remove liquids as it was winter they didn't. Worse yet, I found that not only were only a few items cleaned, the 4 guys had had gone to Home Depot, bought the biggest boxes the could and literally dumped my stuff into boxes. I ended up with valuable broken items. The items had been originally packed by room / item. What they left was one huge jumbled mess. Every box was found to contain a liquid of some sort, minus the ones that had been packed in the apartment. In a few of their boxes I found that they had literally taken boxes of items that were suppose to be cleaned, never even opened them and put them into their Home Depot boxes. To make it worse they left it in a cold storage unit they had rented in the middle of winter. Mine was environment controlled. They also took my computers, TVs, and clothes. The TVs I found at a local shop that confirmed there was definite smoke damage from the fire, to both TVs. Funny, john loyear himself claimed that there wasn't. I paid the shop and got the TVs that still smelled of smoke after cleaning all they could. I got my clothes back after a battle with John. They claimed to have washed. Um the tags are still on, not washed and they smell like men's cologne. Smoke smell was gone because of the cologne so insurance wouldn't budge on getting them actually cleaned. Yup out of my pocket too and half in trash cause they showed smoke damage. I am late in writing this as I had to go through my stuff alone. I am just finally sorting out the last of the mess this company left. 90% went in the garbage due to smoke damage and/or their mystery cleaning fluid. Over half a hot wheels car collection is destroyed due to paint being gone now and the metal being white and pitted now. Awesome job cleaning that guys. Also a loved model star ship was thrown due to the fact that after two years it has turned from grey (original color) to yellow (the color it had started to turn when they "cleaned") to the neon orange/ brown it had turned when I threw it out last week. Yes, there are pictures and when all is done there will be a YouTube video on it and this company. This company did not clean. They left a mess which has cost me thousands in time, cleaning products, storage fees and landfill fees. Swords were scratched and nicked, the sting daggers wooden handle was broken, 2 collectors edition display dragons were broken and found in a box underneath a play station 2 and NES that the workers had thrown on top (they were in the box at angles hard to achieve with out throwing), a ren fest mug was broken, sheaths were damaged, dishes were broke, a jewelry box was broke, and furniture was scratched and broken, a lot of items were damaged due to liquids freezing and breaking open inside boxes even before I searched all of the initially when I found what these guys did. So not that long after they "finished". Also, after finally getting through the last of the items I can say with certainty that items were stolen by this company. The biggest, irreplaceable and most missed was my 80gig classic ipod which was silver and had been bought new. Had that not been gone I wouldn't bother writing this. It was loaded with all my music, movies, audio books, lecture notes, games and even some important pictures. It was only out there cause I was told by john it could be cleaned and to bring it. It was in a bag containing an iPad, iPod case, sony head phones, chargers, net book, voice recorder, iPhone 3s and some papers. All items EXCEPT the iPod were located in various boxes right up to the last one I just did yesterday. iPod has never been found and was the first item I desperately searched for out there. I even found the box, charger, manuals, and case for the iPod but no iPod. Also missing: legend of Zelda NES Gold edition. I have the manuals for this as well, that were still out there. Also missing: Zelda 2 the adventures of link NES gold. Again, manuals were found. Also missing, a very unique dagger. The display stand for it was found. In 16 hours 4 of their workers created a mess that has taken me over 2 years to go through. I still have items that I have to figure out how to clean and hours of work left on it. It's a never ending nightmare. read more
