Had a history of stomach issues and never seen a specialist before until I visited and all the nurse staff treated me well before I eventually seen the Doctor. The Doctor came in teaching a Nurse Practitioner but instead of teaching and actually aided a patient in need of help I was used pretty much as a test dummy instead. I stated all my previous issues I was having a was rudely interrupted and almost scolded after listed my symptoms and not being able to give a reason why I was having them. Don't u go to a doctor to find out what's going wrong and not get scolded for it correct? It felt more like going to a police precent and being interrogated by police instead. It didn't help either not being a resident of Louisiana either as the doctors retry much insisted I should see a primary doctor instead which I am obviously but don't u think you should go to digestive specialist for digestion problems ? That's what I went there for their is nothing else wrong so I don't understand a doctor who takes me insurance money can just talk to a patient that way or anyone that way. Maybe he was having a bad day but this was completely unprofessional and give this place a big two thumbs down. I was better off asking for stomach meds and leaving them actually telling about issues. DO NOT GO !!!!

Do NOT come here if you need actual treatment. All they will do is look at you for 5 minutes,…read moredisinterested at that, and bill you hundreds of dollars for that. Only to give you no answer, and schedule a procedure for weeks/months later. You just have to hope you don't get worse in the meantime. When you do finally get to said procedure day, they charge you hundreds to thousands more dollars just to NOT DO THE PROCEDURE! They are the greediest, lazy set of "doctors" I've ever encountered! Please do yourself a favor and find a genuine medical practice to find care. This place is a JOKE!!!

When it seems like someone is not their best emotionally or as some of the reviews say that some of the staff can be rude, I just try to stay positive myself and talk with kindness and try and lift their spirits. We all have those kinds of days when we are not kind to everyone around us. I do that anywhere I go. Not anyone of us can say that we are always cheerful. Hubby had Endoscopy 2 weeks ago with Dr Mark Marino at East Jefferson Hospital as their facility…read morewas booked for several weeks. Arrived at hospital 30 mins early, checked in sat in waiting room for about 15 mins. Nurse came and called for hubby, thats the last time I saw him until they called me to pick him up. I was a bit taken that no one came out to up date me on his procedure, nurse came out several times but not to address me. I was also concerned that hubby was not put into a surgery gown but instead stayed in his shorts, shirt & tennis shoes with socks with a sheet drapped over him during the procedure... whatever happened to being sterile during a procedure??? Me & my family have had several procedures with Dr Silvers & Dr Persich before Persich left, at both locations and always perfect. What is going on in the medical profession.... Called Friday to book an appointment for the same day because I had a family member who wasn't…read morefeeling well and needed to find a gastroenterologist ASAP. Called around early in the morning and Metropolitan Gastroenterologist Associates in the Metairie location informed me they had an opening today at 10:30 b/c someone had cancelled at the last minute. I was relieved and booked the appointment immediately. When we got there, the curt receptionist informed me that my appointment was for MONDAY, not today. I almost did a 180. I know I didn't say anything about booking an appointment for Monday, but this particular receptionist informed me her computer says Monday and there is nothing she could do and I had to call their customer service number. Calling them didn't help either because they ended up repeating what the curt receptionist stated. So basically if you want to encounter unhelpful medical receptionists who do not know how take a sick patients appointment, and end up wasting gas as well as 45 minutes of your time and on top of this you end up not seeing the doctor, this is the place for you.
