They have a great collection of antiques, some newer items, and a couple of interesting sections in the back with old photo albums, vehicle relics, and other unique finds. I was especially happy to see some of the things I'm always looking for, including ,state license plates,collectible baseball cards and die-cast cars, both sealed and loose. I really enjoyed my experience looking through this store (they have a LOT of stuff) but, it was a Sunday and I was racing the sunset... (they would be closing soon) and I wanted to see a lot more of the town. So I cheated myself. My biggest tip to someone coming into town is to allot enough time on Main Street to enjoy it. This is especially true if you are an antique shop or thrift store aficionado.

One person there is keen on adding some crazy build up on an item to justify the over pricing or will claim how they easily sell others like it for even more outside the store at swap meets, online or whatever. I feel the place can have a great potential to be more successful if they stop trying to get rich off of single sales, price products at least within reasonable industry standards for a given item and also realize that Ventura is too small a town to get away with cheap fast talk to get people to over pay before people catch on and a business' reputation is tarnished.

They have such interesting merchandise including an assortment of unique gift cards, maps, pictures, stylish hats, scarves, and rare books to name just a percentage of what they have to offer. The sales associate was very friendly and helpful. He even tried on a hat I wanted to buy my husband and was concerned about the size. He let me know they take returns within 30 days with the receipt and original tagging. Fortunately it fit! This amazing shop is on Main Street which is closed to through traffic. There is free publick parking just down the street at the Museam of Ventura County. It is also in a great location for other speacialty stores and eateries.

I have a small business myself and to me it's more important to provide service to my clients that will support the ongoing relationship and reputation rather than holding rigidly to small print to "protect" a $20 transaction. This store does not hold the same business philosophy that i do. that said, Copperfield's has lost any future business or referrals from my family who have been repeat customers for years.

Everything was in good (or good enough for me) condition and pricing seemed fair. I bought a couple of things and enjoyed looking around. The two ladies who were there running it were super nice and fun to chat with. They gave me and my husband some additional background on a few of the more show-stopping pieces they had for sale.
