Hilda came out and did a thorough inspection of the entire house and gave us a cost for both first time deep cleaning and monthly maintenance cleaning. The cost was reasonable for both cleaning services. Yesterday Carlos and three ladies showed up - right on time - and worked for almost 6 hours cleaning every nook and cranny, crevice and surface of the house. WOW, what a difference. They cleaned things we never did (too hard to do or too lazy to do it) and made those areas really shine. It was almost like a brand new house (well, other than 22 years of normal wear and tear, of course). Oh, and they rearranged things on some of the flat surfaces to take away the cluttered look, to present a new image in other parts of the house, and some of the clutter was placed into a closet - for my wife and I to actually go thru and decide if we need it or to toss it out. Great extra touches all around. They were very neat, clean and professional in their entire operation. This is a problem, because: 1. Each time I emailed, a different person answered. Probably 20 emails over 1 week were arranged before I could get a quote and schedule cleaning. Because emails would usually arrive late at night or around 2-4AM, I guessed the emailers were located outside of the US. 2. Phone calls are not effective. Email info could easily have been conveyed in a 5-minute phone call, but when I called, the representative didn't know anything about scheduling. 3. A third-party cleaner comes to your house. This means there isn't consistency in quality. The cleaners complained that there was too much work and that it would take a 2-person team 4 hours to do the work (clean 1.5 bathrooms, put about less than 10 dishes in the dishwasher). One worker did dishes only during this time (at $40/hr, that's about $4/dish). The other cleaned the bathrooms. And of course they finished in less than 1 hour. 4. Communication with the third-party cleaner was poor. After all the time I spent emailing about what would be included, none of the details they asked about were conveyed. This was part of the time I paid for, because 1 worker called their supervisor to try to get out of doing the work.

Update: So the other company that we booked cancelled on us due to the staff calling in sick the morning of the cleaning. I understand people get sick, but atleast ensure proper coverage for the same day for those situatuons. They couldn't find anyone to cover until after Christmas. At that point we were so disappointed and didn't want to work with them anymore, so I reached out to Ricky again. He was able to find a team to do the cleaning for immediately. This was for our post home renovation project, carpet and tiles removed and hardwood floors installed, so plenty of dust from the air pretty much coated every surface of kitchen bathroom and furniture that was even covered. Even though we tried to wipe it ourselves we needed a professional cleaning done. Ricky's team showed up and did an amazing job getting our place like new again. The tile dust from the bathroom tile demolition got all over our shower doors and tub, but it was spotless after.
