She couldn't find any shoes that fit quite the same as her old ones did, but she found two pairs that she thought would work. A couple hours in the new shoes convinced her that they were too loose in the heel, so we returned them and bought two different pairs a half-size smaller. A couple hours in those and she realized they're too tight to wear all day, so we returned those, too. Overall we spent about an hour and a half trying on shoes, bought four pairs, and returned them all, but every employee we met in our three visits to the store was friendly, competent, and professional.

Thankfully I remembered Cobbler's Bench from a previous trip. They had several Birkenstock styles that I wanted to try on and they had many in 42! I tried on 3 or 4 pairs and found a great pair thanks to the help of the woman working with me. When we came in she offered to put on a mask because she saw we were wearing ours. I told her it wasn't necessary, but I appreciated the offer. She insisted on helping me in and out of each pair of sandals and she offered suggestions along the way. She was very kind and patient. I highly recommend letting them help you find the best fit. They did a great job!
