When I walked out it was styled and smooth texture and bright. I wouldn't let myself dream of being happy with beauticians after my experience in the past few years. I've been a blonde my whole life but its started to darken as I've gotten farther into my 20's. When I read Marina's reviews she sounded almost too good to be true. I called and left her a message about what I needed and what kind of hair I had and she called back within the hour. Not only was she extremely kind over the phone but she really seemed to understand what I needed and I set up an appointment with her as soon as possible. About a week later she was in my kitchen drinking coffee and doing my hair. It was like having a cool older sister I never knew existed! We chatted and laughed the entire time she was coloring my hair. When it was time to wash my color out she brought me over to the sink. I was surprised that a stylist could really put that much time and compassion into something as simple as washing my hair. Afterwards she gave me a blowdry and styled my hair and I kid you not I felt like Marilyn Monroe by the end of it. My mom got married the day after Thanksgiving, and we were worried about finding a hair and makeup stylist who would be available that day. Luckily, we found Marina and she gave us the most perfect, relaxing day. Everyone in the bridal party wanted a different look (glam, 1920s, classic, etc.) and the bride wanted to go very natural. Marina was so accommodating to what everyone was looking for and made us all feel beautiful. She spent the entire day with us and helped us plan out the schedule so that everything went exactly as planned and on time. The makeup and hair styles looked great all night long and, most importantly, my mom had an incredibly special day. Thank you Marina for being such an important part of it!

Love that she can handle any hair type - from my best friend's cool blond hair, to my coarse thick brown hair, as well as working with my aunt who I referred and toning out the yellow and restoring her beautiful platinum silver hair. Kacy is talented at both cut, layering, color, and highlights. I also love that she's really nice and has a very strong work ethic - she always replies in a timely manner and was so kind when I had to reschedule an appointment. Well doesn't it suck to be thousands of miles away from home when this happens? I can tell you it really does. And as well meaning as everyone you know and their lending of their best people as referrals is, most of which are magically too busy, it's no relief. Worse yet is the countless calls, requests, and pestering you do via Yelp. Google is no different. Somehow I kept missing Ben then I saw him and called. When I talk about that OMG I HAVE AN ANGEL moment, I think Ben. From the moment we spoke, he had me send in photos, he looked at them, called and said, "Yeah I can fix this". Within hours he rearranged his schedule and my confidence, my self-esteem, my pride, my enjoyment was back. If I could give negative stars, I would! I just read a…read more1-star review from 2017, and my experience was almost identical 9 years later! I can't understand how they're still in business! Horror show times 100! I arrived at my appt 10 minutes early, and was taken 60 minutes late! Why does a customer need to ask repeatedly, "How much longer?" Why isn't customer service proactively providing an explanation? Reassurance, maybe? I suppressed my outrage, because I just wanted my hair done without attitude. When I finally got to the sink, I thought, okay, now I can relax. Well, that thought quickly evaporated. Scalding water turned freezing, back to scalding. And the stylist must have put honey in my hair because it felt like she was ripping it out with water running through it! I don't have a sensitive scalp, and an experience like this has NEVER happened to me before. I asked her 3x to be gentler, and she dismissed me while joking around with the stylist next to her. Unfortunately, the unpleasantness (and pain!) didn't end with the wash. While in the chair, I had to tell her to take the hot iron out of my hair because she left it in so long while she took a phone call, I was sure a chunk of my hair would fall out. Besides the inexcusable lateness, the plumbing situation that goes unfixed, the rough handling, and the personal calls being taken with a hot iron in the stylist's hand, the salon was freezing, the music blasting louder than a club, it was without a doubt the worst salon experience of my lifetime. This is the first negative review I've ever written, for any establishment, in any industry. I honestly walked out to my car in tears, because after a hard day at work and thinking I'd sink into a salon chair and relax for an hour, I came away feeling assaulted.
