The IDs will normally be filed by initials of the person who registered (i.e. Eazy Rider rental 1 hour would be E.R with the time of return). As we were scooting around the city we noticed that ERYD Scooter Rentals have two other locations in the Downtown area. Depending on when you arrive if you do not already have a reservation there could be a wait which on this night it was only one person working the desk but luckily we got in before the crowd (As of this post they are hiring). What I liked about this scooter company is their scooters and trikes have a well seen purple light in front and small rear red light on the rear. If you want to be more visible throw a strobing bike light on a small sling bag/backpack. They offer helmets for use if you want. If you have never ridden before one of the employees will give you a briefing on how to use the controls and what to do if your scooter becomes inoperable. We did 1-hour this night and visited Discovery Green, Market Square, The POST, Main St, most of downtown and parts of 3rd Ward closest to Emancipation St and we still had 5 minutes left on the meter, the scooters can go up to 26 mph. Great value. What I did not like, was no W/C on site and parking(Be careful where you park..tow trucks waiting and I saw multiple spots of tint and broken glass on some side streets going east from this location(not lit side streets). P.S. Bend your knees for suspension going over rough terrain and be ready for a decent workout mentally and physically.

Still a lot of construction and there are multiple closures along the trail, but the completed paved sections are smooth, open and wide. Much safer to be able to go under bridges to avoid crossing major intersections. Need a break? Lots of park benches along the way. Thirsty? The new water bottle refill stations are strategically positioned. Don't have a bike? Look for the hourly rental stations available. The trail has detention capacity that has been expanded after Hurricane Harvey that will hopefully decrease the risk of flooding to homes and property along the bayou. Nice to see so many birds, like herons, cormorants, egrets and ducks, enjoying the water along the trail. Perfect for a long bike ride on a sunny weekend.

On my first visit, Tyler recommended a bike for my needs, definitely knowledgeable and friendly. Tito helped me on the second visit. He was really patient and nice, letting us try different bike frame sizes, showing us how to properly take apart the bike for transport, and suggesting accessories. Overall impression from these two was that they seem like really nice guys who love their craft. Not only can you give the bikes a ride in store, you can take it outside and try it out in the back alley which really helped since there aren't as many obstacles. They only sell Trek branded bikes, but they come in so many models and sizes (from tricycles for the tiny kids to ones with wheels thicker than my forearm). There are tons of accessories (phone mount, rear lights, bags, etc), clothing, and nutrition items to browse, and there is also seating area with coffee/drinks. They do servicing here as well and do a free 3 month and 1 year maintenance service on their bikes. Overall really happy with my first big bike purchase with TREK!

Because I really enjoyed seeing this side of Houston…read more --- --- --- Since moving back to the Houston area nearly a year and a half ago, I've remained as unimpressed as I was during my first 22 years here. The cost of living and weather are great, but we much preferred our time living in Tampa. One reason is the beauty, or lack thereof when driving on most interstates. Billboards, car dealerships and businesses stacked on top of businesses are basically all that one sees. What does all of that have to do with Bike Barn Bayou Rental? Well, my friend was coming to visit Houston for the first time and I wanted to showcase the city in the best way that I could. Since I know he loves cycling, I figured that would be pretty ideal, and it ended up really working out! I called ahead since I'd never been here before and was told that there were plenty of bikes available to rent and that I could just show up. A couple of hours later, we arrived and the process was pretty easy. We filled out waivers and were given a quick explanation of where the trail would take us, and then we headed out. We had the bikes for 2 hours, but completed the entire main trail in about 30 minutes. I stopped back in the shop to ask where else they would recommend we ride, but I also requested a new bike. Every time I downshifted below the highest gear, the chain would consistently pop whenever I'd push slightly harder than normal. I was given an alternate bike and suggestions on where to ride next, which was great. But unfortunately, the new bike had the exact same problem. I sucked it up and just dealt with the chain popping, but it was definitely annoying. However, the overall experience was still a great one, as I was able to see a ton of Houston from an angle I'd never experienced before. The entire ride along the Buffalo Bayou was great, but also, we ended up riding all through downtown and came across some cool parks and other really nice spots. It helped give me an appreciation for Houston that I've definitely never had before. So thanks, BBBR!

Aiar did a wonderful job explaining options in fixing part that malfunctioned, and also pointed out the really old aging part of octopus, that would need to be replaced very soon.
