Horrible experience and I was only there for 10 minutes! I scheduled a FREE consultation and the 1st thing they asked for was my identification and insurance card. So my question was if this is a free consultation why do you need my insurance card? I was then told that I had to provide it in order to proceed with the consultation. So I immediately began to wonder if this was a reputable business. I suffer from chronic back pain and have excellent health insurance. But in my opinion I should not have to provide my insurance information until I have agreed to move forward with treatment. This just didn't sit well with me considering how much fraud and scamming that takes place in this world. I don't just give my insurance information out so easy! So far, I am very unhappy. I should have read the reviews before I drove over 90 minutes for this free consultation. I already feel like this is a potential scam, and if it is, they chose the wrong person to try to pull this over. Well, I just got a 'tour' of services available before the 'consultation'. The entire time I knew where this was going, but I went along with it. Then came my 'consultation' I presume it was an actual Doctor that did this, but I can't be certain. He asked me a question or two, then took out his phone and used and app to scan the areas of concern. He told me what I already knew, I had nerve damage. He then proceeded to briefly explain my options, and the cost involved. The advice was to come into this office weekly and get treatments that could potentially restore the nerves. the kicker was the cost... a number so large, so unfathomable, that I knew right then and there that I had been duped. I of course listened politely to all of my finance options, as they do not take insurance. I asked no questions, made no comments because I was so angry with myself for falling for the 'free consultation' tactic. At the first pause for breath, I stood up and said 'no thankyou, I can't do this' Even as I was trying to leave the office , I had one more person try to woo me with an 'incentive option'. When it became obvious to the staff that I was leaving, they dropped me like a hot potato and moved on to the next person sitting there, not even a goodbye, or thanks for coming in... none of that. What a waste of my time, but definitely a learning experience that I am willing to share so nobody else has to deal with this. For the average person, with a job and bills, I think this is not a doable option. I suppose if money and time are not a concern, there is that one in a million chance that they could actually do what they say, but I truly doubt it. read more

I came in with chronic lower back pain that I've been having for years after deciding to take control of the pain. I'm a few visits in and can already feel a huge difference! I combo'd all of the sessions with the sleeping pillow they provided me, along with another apparatus that I use to stretch my neck. This was my first time coming to a Chiropractor. I came in with severe lower back pain. I trusted the "doctors" and submitted to all the tests and remedies they recommended over two days. Despite the clinic being within network, their bill was hefty and was NOT covered by my insurance. What grieves me the most is that after submitting to their absurd "electrical stimulation" session the pain got WORSE! I actually had to PAY them to make me feel worse! Finally on the second day after x-rays, MRI, and examinations, they presented me with two options for a course of long term treatment (physical therapy or injections), costing $10,500+ to $12,500+ and not a DIME of it was covered by BlueCross BlueShield employee insurance! A colleague at work told me to get a referral from my Primary Care Physician for a PROPER Orthopedic specialist. You know, the kind that actually went to MEDICAL SCHOOL for a gazillion years before they let him actually TREAT people. For the cost of a $50 specialist co-pay, I got the best MEDICAL consultation and a prescription for extensive physical therapy 3x week with further surgical options available to me down the line and ALL OF IT COVERED BY INSURANCE!! The chiropractors never told me that I could have gotten all the physical therapy, injections, and surgery through an actual MD and it would have been covered by insurance. It's unconscionable. They just want to get PAID and to hell with the patient! What do they care if we go bankrupt?! I now know why Chiropractors have such a bad reputation. Please, people, SEE A PROPER ORTHOPEDIC SPECIALIST! Especially if you have insurance. Do not be fooled! Always get a second opinion! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! read more

I have been seeing chiropractors for almost 10 years and Dr. Wolter and Dr. Ha are the best in their field! I have had a chronic lower back, neck and upper shoulder pain for half my life and after being a patient with Dr. Wolter and Dr. Ha, my chronic pain has subsided over 80%. Obviously, since I've had the pain for so long, it's going to take time to heal it 100%. The methods of adjustments they use always makes me feel so much better after I walk out of the office. They don't treat you like a number and gives you the most personal adjustment to fit YOUR needs and not just a routine adjustment you would get at other offices. I almost even feel taller after my adjustments! The other caveat to my improved health is the nutritional program I started with Dr. Ha. I've been on the nutritional program for about 8 months. Right away, the lower back pain I had everyday that I had to take medication everyday for, I didn't have to anymore. As a matter of fact, I have NOT taken ANY medication since I started the nutritional program!! I contemplated getting back surgery because my back pains were so sever and it was effecting my daily life style. I'm so glad I did not opt for the evasive surgery that has no guarantees of success. Again, after being treated my Dr. Ha and Dr. Wolter with the adjustments and nutrition, my life style has dramatically improved! I believe in them so much I even take my young children there for maintaince adjustments. Children need adjustments as well because they are always tumbling and falling. Oh, and the staff is so friendly and prompt! My pet peeve is horrible office staff! I can't tell you how many doctors I stopped seeing because of their horrible office staff. It's the worst when you are walking into a doctor's office in pain and the staff is more miserable than you! No issues with that here! I haven't mentioned their beautiful 2nd location at Memorial City! Go check them out, you will not regret it! If by any chance you do run into a problem, please talk to them. No one is perfect and if you let them know, they will be more than happy to help resolve the issue. P.S. I saw Dr. Wolter during my pregnancy and she really helped me through the aches and pains while caring an 8 lb. baby. I don't think there is anything they can't do! read more

I am shocked I am the only negative review here. But I think I know why that is. I came to Active ChiroCare because of its Yelp reviews and a $49.99 for x-ray and initial checkup deal, they advertised on Yelp. The minute I mentioned the $49.99 deal, the reception staff told me that it was an old coupon, and they had to check if the doctor would honor it. The regular price is $125 for a initial check up and an xray. Each additional x-ray would be $80. I was asked to show the deal; I showed it on my phone. They told me that this was a mistake on Yelp, but since I showed it, they would honor it. I was happy, and I was led inside to see the doctor. Once inside, and I was done with all paperwork, Dr. Ha walked into the room I was in. I told him my pains from a recent fall. Within minutes, the doctor told me that my situation was complex, and that they wouldn't be able to honor the coupon after all. They would charge me the full price. He was constantly up-selling me x-rays. He tried to sell me a skull x-ray, I declined. Still, I was told I would need 3 x-rays. I wouldn't have to pay for one if I gave the Doctor a good review on Yelp. It felt sleazy, but I agreed. I was sold the x-rays in spite of me saying I don't think I have any fractures. And after the x-rays, I was right. There were no fractures, just a dislocated shoulder and a pinched nerve. Doctor said he had never fixed a dislocated shoulder before, but he knew how to do it. He would charge $38 to fix my dislocated shoulder. I agreed. He brought a tennis ball, and tried to fix my shoulder. He started pulling my shoulder haphazardly. I asked him to stop, and give me the tennis ball. I took the ball home, and used it to fix my shoulder problem, myself at home. I spent $38 for a tennis ball. He told me to come the next day again to get the report, and his treatment plan. I would seriously have appreciated being told the treatment plan then and there, as there was no test results that he was waiting on. He could have just decided his plan then and there and told me what he planned to do. No. I had to take my body in pain, and come back to see him the next day. He charged me for the x-ray that he was going to give me free, for the good review. I didn't complain. I was asked, several times to do the review in their offices, to get a raffle draw ticket, for an end of the month draw. I started to see, why this doctor's office had very high Yelp Ratings. I paid $323 dollars. Meanwhile, Doctor didn't recommend a elbow brace. He didn't recommend a neck brace. On my way home, I bought both, as I was still untreated and in a lot of pain. I was hoping the doctor would have done something to relieve my pain. He gave me a tennis ball. Next day, I was asked to come 15 minutes early at 10:45. Because of my severe pains, I was delayed, and I arrived at 11:02. I was made to wait till 11:40am in the waiting room. They already had my money. So I waited to hear what the doctor had to say. The minute Dr. Ha saw me in the waiting room with an elbow brace, he commented on how bad my brand was, and that he had good ones for sale, that I could buy from him. He didn't even prescribe it the day before. At that moment, I wasn't wearing a neck brace; I left it in the car. And he didn't prescribe a neck brace either. He checked on my pains. Then he whispered, that I hadn't done my reviews. I told him, I was going to do it later. He was joking, "Oh you are waiting to see, if you are getting better." Yes, I was. Finally he came out with a treatment plan, which he could have given me the day before. I don't think I am going to trust a doctor, who wasn't able to fix my dislocated shoulder, with my neck. I am going to shop around. He did give me the x-rays. Hopefully other doctors are more about patient care, and less about Yelp Ratings and Upselling. On my way out, I was repeatedly asked to do the review there. I politely declined. I was lured with raffle drawings again. I was told the prizes would be useful to me. I was also told that the $49.99 deal was removed. I saw that there is a $99.99 deal when I looked. But now that I see it, the $49.99 deal is back, within 12 hours of me leaving the office. I have a feeling a lot of people come in because of the $49.99 deal. They up sell them to $125 for the same exact service. I hope this review has a positive effect on this business, and they start caring more about the customer, than about up selling and Yelp Reviews. read more

This is the biggest sham! What a shame that someone would take advantage of an 87 year old lady!! To charge $6,500 for 6 weeks of "treatment" (1 time per week) and then if it doesn't work you're just out of luck. Then to top it off they tried to charge another $2,000 for a few more weeks of "treatment". Thankfully she was smart enough to not fall for this BS!! Dr. Ha is amazing. He is professional, friendly, and always happy to engage in small talk as he works through his adjustments or checkups. I started coming in near the beginning of the year due to an old back injury that started to flare up again. I tried to ignore it but it just grew worse. Within 2 weeks I was immeasurably better. Fast forward to today and I'm still paying Dr. Ha a visit once a week for a maintenance adjustment. The drive home after my adjustment is usually the highlight of my day - my back feels great! He was able to identify the original cause for the herniation and come up with plans for treatment that has effectively relieved my symptoms. He didn't hesitate to refer me to a neurosurgeon when the MRI shows the size of the herniation requires more consideration and with the 2nd opinion from the neurosurgeon, he adjusted the treatment which helped me to recover even more. read more

I've been going to Dr. Ha for the past 8 years as I was referred by a colleague. I'm very cautious with doctors, especially those that are messing with my back. In the beginning of my visits, he found that I had 2 herniated discs. He had a decompression machine for a 2 week trial and I came in as many times as I could. It helped me so much that I was finally able to sleep on my back with no pain that I couldn't do for the previous 5 years! Dr. Ha did my adjustments as needed as well. They now have this decompression machine in the office. It is an amazing machine! Dr. Ha helped me with the nutrition program he is doing. It was amazing to see how he tested me (without pins, needles, and waiting for results) that I was allergic to commercial milk and commercial eggs. Since then, I can see a huge difference in my health since I stopped consuming both. I did lose weight from this program. When Dr. Trevor came on board, Dr. Ha had me start seeing him. I am very impressed with his skills as well. I was having headaches. He found that the muscles in my neck were knotted. He helped relieve my pain immediately which in turn helped with my adjustments. Most times it's not usually immediate relief, but I feel better even by the next day. I still continue to go in to get adjusted as needed. The staff is ALWAYS nice and respectful. Although I was a new patient, the Dr. took the time to evaluate me and made special accommodations the following day to take me in when he normally does not see patients. After my first visit, I had tremendous relief of pain and was able to once again function. Absolutely love Dr. Ha!! I was having neck pains to the point where I was getting bad headaches from them. It was going on for a while before I finally went to go get adjusted by Dr. Ha and by the first appointment the headaches were already subsiding. We all know that joint pains dont miraculously dissappear just after one session!! So originally I was going 3 times a week and by each session the headaches became less frequent and hurt less and less when they did come. Now, I don't ever have headaches anymore! Also, whenever I feel a lot of tension in my neck, I pop in for an adjustment and it's quite instantly relieved. I have to point out again, if you are having pains realize that no matter where you go one session will not be enough if you want permanent results! So no, Dr. Ha is not just looking for money when he tells you that you need to go in 2 or 3 times a week. He knows what he is talking about and is always friendly and respectful! They are extremely flexible with appointments and always positive, caring, and up-lifting. My appointments over there are the only appointments anywhere, that I actually enjoy going to. Dr. Wolter, Melba, and Alex are all amazing individuals and they made me feel like family from the moment I walked in on the first day of my evaluation. They go above and beyond in every aspect. My son will be 4 years-old in a few months and is pretty hyperactive, yet they always take it upon themselves to play with him, let him "help" them with tasks, and even give him organic lollipops at his request (only if he follows directions). If you're looking for a Chiropractor and live within 30 minutes of the Memorial City Mall, you will be making a huge mistake if you choose another clinic.
