He welded the new hinge and the problem was still there. The gate wouldn't close because the space wasn't there. The repairmen said he was only there to weld. He called the company to talk to me about this issue. The company called me and said everything looks good right? It was not. He and the repairman had a long conversation over the phone because he had to be somewhere else. The repairman after checking the closure, stated that a space/hole needed to be cut into the wooden pole to push the metal plate in. He ended up putting in the hole and it does close now. The repairman did really seem to try to fix the gate. Overall 3.5 stars. Positives: The initial service call and repair time was quick. The gate looks fixed and repairman who came out seemed nice and tried to make things right. Negatives: Putting in the new hinge didn't really seem to fix anything and felt like an extra cost still. On the phone, they tried to explain that they have a lot of experience with these gates and that the hinge needed to be replaced. With all that experience, why did they not see this other problem. After they fixed the gate, I then recalled that a different gate company in the past (for a different issue) told me the pole was the problem. Maybe I will use that company in the future instead. The company seems to track reviews closely. I got a call about my review within 15 minutes of posting. They wanted to find out what happened.
