NEVER GOING BACk. Bought a loaf of bread today at the walk up counter. Girl named Melissa took a loaf of bread off the rack, put it in a bag and told me to put my credit card in their reader. Got home and noticed she decided to tip herself $1.20 (20%) for her do nothing effort. Will never go back to this place again. Can;t trust employees. read more

Although food is excellent, service is always slow and surly. There just isn't any reason to be so unpleasant no matter how busy they are and although they make most everything from scratch, it just doesn't make any sense to make everyone wait for food and even coffee for so long. After staying in the Vail Valley and Breckenridge areas for about 3 weeks we cannot say enough good things about Hovey and Harrison! We stopped here nearly every day during our stay and it was well worth it. Our favorite items were the Mushroom Congee and the Lavender Lemon Steamer, highly recommend both! The baked goods are all insane, you really cannot go wrong with any choice in that department. One of the most unique and interesting things to my fiancé and I was the selection of non-alcoholic spirits and alcohol alternatives that they had, it was great to see. All of the staff is super friendly especially our buddy Joey who introduced himself to us after seeing we were frequent customers. Hands down the best, freshest bakery and market I have been to in western Colorado. Their attention to detail is impeccable. Service is fantastic. Although be prepared to wait in line on busy days because they don't rush their customers through the line. They are patient and kind to everyone, so it's worth the wait. Their menu feels more like breakfast/brunch to me when I come for lunch, but they have some super tasty pre-prepared sandwiches. The roast beef is my favorite. They also have some amazing dishes you can pick up and take home to cook. They use tons of fresh, local ingredients and are doing their part to support local businesses. I just wish they were open after 5! I'm sure I'm not the only one dreaming of a happy hour at Hovey & Harrison's. Maybe 1-2x/wk focused on supporting a local charity or local businesses? read more

Awesome! We stopped in for brunch over the weekend. Location and ambiance are great with fun outdoor seating area and views of the mountains. Stopped in for breakfast. Ordered the orange french toast. Thought i would have to ask for additional syrup, but it was so tasty, more syrup would have masked the great flavor. It also had a sprinkling of cut up peaches and confectioners sugar. So hungry, i forgot to take a pic. Also ordered a decaf coffee..it was over $3, just for the coffee, so it's not an inexpensive place. Graded down for prices and the cashier was not friendly, and no one came by during meal to greet either. read more

Stop in here! if you are anywhere near the area or not near - make a trip to it! I didn't even like focaccia until I had theirs, it was wonderfully spongey and moist but slightly chewy, not like the dry crumbly version I have had before.The raspberry frangipane was so delighful! read more

While I have yet to order off their restaurant menu, I have purchased several take away items and I have found that they can be hit or miss. . I love their bolognese sauce! However, recently I purchased a pork stir fry meal and the rice was a bit crunchy and under cooked. The pork was quite delicious, just something simple like under cooking the rice can ruin it. I also purchase Christmas dinner which had great parts, all the veggies were delicious, but the Buche de Noel was very dry and unappealing. The roast beef was a bit over cooked. Like I said, it has been hit or miss. The staff seems to want to take care of you. Management made an adjustment to our $500 bill by crediting back the cake after we waited over 30 mins on Christmas Eve to pick up the meal. I will try a Hovey and Harrison again, but not on a take out catering order. The place seems to always be busy! read more

This place is a dream! It's everything I have always wanted in a lunch restaurant. It's organic, unique, there are plenty of healthy options as soup salads sandwiches or stews but they're actually amazing! It's an extremely cool place and we will give it another try as we have our second home here. However we had to box our food because there was hair in my yogurt. So grossed out and we had to leave even when the replaced it. My fiancées couldn't even eat his chicken biscuit the biscuit was soggy. I tried a bite and it was definitely not something that I would come back for. I feel that they need to make things taste good and not just look at healthy if they want business. We heard other new comers say the same. We had to go somewhere else and do another second breakfast. I am in a variety of coffee shops/bakeries daily because of my profession and as a result have become a connoisseur of both coffee and bakery delights. Hovey and Harrison is set a part as one of the very best I have ever experienced. And I use the term "experienced" intentionally! The experience is much more than the delicious items they provide. The service, special attention, amenitities, ambiance, view of the mountains, and warmth is out of this world. Food is delicious, but everything is a bit over priced. Being a local, its not a place I can afford to frequent. The yogurt bowl was delicious, salad with goat cheese croquets was amazing, French toast super tasty. Latte - not so good, VERY strong and bitter. The prices here will take the enamel off your teeth. The staff are not friendly or, to be honest, particularly competent when it comes to getting what you want and they treat you with near complete apathy. Been here a few times and can only assume smiles and friendliness are strictly forbidden in the employee manual. The staff are not friendly and look annoyed when they serve you, and $7 for a "simple sandwich" What the $#*&#$%$#???? The to-go food is high-priced and unremarkable to the extreme. The charm and decor are great, but make an effort. I've sampled three things and, while it's all beautiful to look at it's pretty bland, and the one thing that had a lot of flavor was the Shrimp salad, and a generous amount of shrimp. The two coffee drinks were very good and the Monkey Bread? Morphine. Pure blessed crack to foster an addiction, but still the main drag about this place is the staff are just stone faced and act like serving you is a pain. Stopped by this morning and loved it! We had 6 folks, and ordered the chicken biscuit (3 people), the yogurt, the steak sandwich, a morning bun and a couple of lattes. The chicken biscuit was excellent! Great chicken, great biscuit, great sauce. Steak sandwich was also great. The yogurt was my favorite, with sweet peach preserves, bee pollen, honey comb, and crunchy granola. The lattes were just how I like them, with smooth espresso and good foam. Their mugs are super fun handmade mugs without handles, perfect for holding with both hands on a chilly morning! The morning bun wasn't what I am used to - it was a muffin with a cinnamon sugar coating. I think of a morning bun as a cinnamon bun but with orange filling, instead of cinnamon. It was still good, although a tad dry. The ambiance was great, and the staff were friendly and attentive. I will definitely be back for lunch, and to try some of their grab and go dinner items! read more
