    Winter soup buffet
    Lisa S.

They don't have alot to offer, but what they do have is homemade and hits the spot after hours of Nordic skiing. A winter soup buffet includes a selection of 2 soups and a bison chilli with all the fixin's. I'm so glad I burned off some calories so I could enjoy 2 helpings of the bread accompaniment which today included a garlic croissant-like phillo fried dough with a flakey outer crust and soft inside. Mmmm. The service was amazing too, and made you feel like family. It's quiet and low-key compared to the bustling vibe near the ski areas. A very nice and welcome change of pace.

Vail Nordic Center- great activity and reasonable in cost.

What a nice surprise after cross country skiing for the day. They offered a lighter fare in a casual setting- full soup bar $10 for one visit or $16 for two trips. I enjoyed the Buffalo chili with all the fixins, including jalapeño cornbread $10. Local draft beer and sandwiches available(see menu). You can enjoy the soup with sandwich as well. Service was fast and friendly. Give this place a try for a heart warming lunch !

Pork belly melt "special" with salad and chutney. Delicious!

This was an unexpected treat after a day of snow activities. They have a soup buffet that smelled terrific when you walked in. Soups, Buffalo chili, artisan breads, and cornbread were on the menu. The cornbread looked and tasted fabulous. Not all cornbread is created equal and these stood out. One had Fresno and/or jalapeno peppers, and the other had cheese. The soup won reviews from my girlfriend. They also serve melts. I ordered the special melt of the day which was pork belly with coleslaw which was served with chutney and a salad. Again, an unexpected gourmet treat. Everything was very tasty. The restaurant is super clean and the staff is very friendly, helpful, courteous, and efficient. This was an all-around pleasant experience I hope to duplicate.

The weather changes quickly in the Vail Valley, and we were treated to a double rainbow while sitting on the deck at Grill on the Gore.

First of all those chips and dip they bring to the table are so hard you can't eat them. My wife almost chipped her tooth on one.

The shop itself is on the smaller side, and yes, the prices are definitely Vail prices. But the customer service was excellent, the ice cream tasted fresh and homemade, and every visit was a pleasant experience. My son absolutely loved the matcha ice cream, while my daughter couldn't get enough of the cotton candy flavor. With so many options in Vail competing for your attention, it's always a good sign when a place convinces you to come back the very next day. If you're looking for a sweet treat while strolling through Vail Village, Joe's is well worth the stop.

Joe's Famous Deli and Homemade Ice Cream is located on Bridge Street in the heart of Vail Village…read more Their menu includes breakfast items, grilled sandwiches, cold sandwiches, hot drinks and other items. FYI - you'll need to descend a flight of stairs to reach the front entrance from street level. My go-to sandwich is usually a Reuben so Joe's Famous Ruben Sandwich was an obvious choice for me, but I was quite disappointed in their rendition. The sandwich lacked sauce and flavor and was average at best. I could only finish half of it, and it actually tasted better when I reheated the leftovers in the microwave the next day. My daughter did however enjoy their child meal deal which included a sandwich and homemade ice cream. Service wasn't overly friendly either but was efficient. Joe's is a good spot to duck into when it's snowing outside and you need to get out of the cold and grab a quick bite. I'd recommend asking the staff for their recommendation if you visit since the reviews are mixed or consider other local dining options.

One TV over the bar delivered, but so did the delightfully engaging bartenders. Colby is the best. Great bar service made excellent suggestions from the menu (ask for the "secret " menu). Toasted sandwich was a fantastic combination of flavors and texture. One really cannot go wrong, but I recommend anything with the fresh jalapeños in au jus.

We were traveling through Silverthorne and decided to stop at Cheba Hut while passing through…read more Overall, it was a good experience, but there were a few things that kept it from being a 5-star visit. We ordered the White Widow, Kali Mist, Garlic Cheese Bread, and the Bowl O' Balls for the little ones. The Kali Mist was easily our favorite great flavor and we'd absolutely order it again. The White Widow was good, just not as memorable. The garlic cheese bread was a solid side, and the Bowl O' Balls was perfect for the kids. The pricing was very reasonable. We spent around $54 for everything, and for the quality and portion sizes, it felt fair. We liked that they offer 4", 8", and 12" sandwiches, and the 8-inch subs were a great value. The drink selection was also nice, although the ice machine wasn't producing ice during our visit. The reason for 4 stars really comes down to the customer service. Noah was friendly and helped us choose between a couple of sandwiches when we asked for his opinion, which we appreciated. However, the experience lacked the hospitality and attention to detail that turns a good visit into a great one. After paying, there was no offer of a receipt I actually had to go back and ask for one. When our food was brought out to go, the bag was accidentally dropped into my arms and almost hit the ground. There wasn't any follow-up afterward no "Here's your order," "Enjoy your meal," or "Can I get you anything else?" We also didn't realize until we got back to the Hilton that there were no napkins or condiments included with our order, even though we tipped 18%. The restaurant has a fun, unique atmosphere, but the dining area could have been cleaner. The trash bins were overflowing, and while there was a steady flow of customers, it didn't seem overly busy or like they were in the middle of a rush. It felt like there was enough downtime to stay on top of basic housekeeping. Overall, the food was good, the prices were fair, and we'd stop by again if we're ever back in Silverthorne. I think the biggest opportunity for improvement is simply customer service and hospitality small things like offering a receipt, checking that the order is complete, including napkins and condiments, and ending the interaction with a friendly send-off would go a long way. Those little details are what turn a good meal into a great customer experience.
