We stayed here for our family vacation because it was cheap. We pretty much got what we paid for. Well, my sisters', mom's, and grandpa's rooms were fine but ours were dumpy, old, and with red stained carpet. The fragrance of our room was Lysol because it smelled like it. Stained walls, stained carpets, slow to no wifi connection. The good thing about this hotel is they have free breakfast. Sure, it's instant breakfasts (waffles, muffins, fruits, cereals) but at least it's free. It's a budget place so don't get your hopes up. read more

I was not comfortable during my stay here. It seems to be in a sketchy part of town. I chose this hotel because of the seemingly great deal that I got on the room. Every time I've stayed at a Wyndham-owned hotel there's always something that happens. I didn't realize that when I booked. The front desk lady was nice to us but when she talked on the phone to employees (I'm hoping that's who she was talking to) she would be very abrupt and hang up the phone after saying no. When we walked into the room, after struggling to get the door open, there was an overwhelming scent of air freshener. It's like they were trying to cover up a smell. We aired out the room to avoid getting a headache. The room was clean. We checked for bed bugs and there weren't any. There was a protective cover over the mattress. The sink had peeling paint and the tub had something on it. Not sure. When we went for the continental breakfast, there was still an hour left. The people that were there when we arrived in he breakfast room cleaned out almost everything. I don't know if they live there but they seem like the type of people that learned you take something when it's available because it will be gone. So we each had a plain oatmeal and then ended up going somewhere else for breakfast. One thing to note, when you stay here you pay for your stay upfront (I think that says something about the neighborhood and/or the clientele) and on top of that an extra $50 deposit that gets refunded on checkout. Although it's right next to the freeway you don't really hear it. I was more bothered by someone running along the balcony in the middle of the night. I would recommend going to the Comfort Inn on the other side of the freeway. They have a pool! read more

If I could give this a 0 star I would. The only good thing was that the staff at the front desk was friendly. Anyway, the moment we got here, there was police arresting someone in the lobby. First off, let me say that the staff here is pretty friendly and the rooms are not half bad. However, staying here was almost a nightmare. It was hard to relax and go to sleep as many of the other guests were being super rowdy. Late at night and throughout the morning, people were yelling and slamming doors. Kids were screaming and in general, everyone was just being super loud. At one point, my friend recalled hearing a woman loudly shout the N-word. The walls are extremely thin, it seems. And if a heavy footed person were to walk across the balcony, you could feel your bed shaking from it. The bathroom of the room I stayed it smelled like weed, despite it being a no smoking room. Not to mention my friend said it felt like the bathroom floor was covered in urine. It's a decent place to stay if you just need one night AND they allow 18 year olds to check out a room which was very helpful. But overall, if you need a goodnight's sleep, don't go here. read more

We arrived to find a hotel room reeking of smoke ("non-smokers") and had exactly 10 minutes before they would void a refund. Upon finding blood splatter all over the bed sheets and door frames that had been kicked in we decided to leave. Not to mention the screaming and sketchy activities going on outside. But wait there's more! Getting a refund from this hotel has been a nightmare. On top of the money you pay to spend here they also take out a $50 deposit (which I'm sure they would've charged us for the damages that were there when we arrived.) we have spend countless hours on the phone trying to get a refund from this place and are still waiting on it weeks later. If you're still reading this and considering staying here my best advice is absolutely don't. It is a scam. I have relatively low standards for hotels but this draws the line. I reserved 2 rooms here on Aug 9th with friend couple and we were very disappointed with the room, location and service. Room was dirty and dark. AC was loud and our couple friend were not able to sleep comfortably. Bed was uncomfortable. Sink, faucets and microwave are obsolete. Carpets were yacky dirty and smelly. I bought water bottle at gas station across d hotel and it was unsafe to cross and dark to walk. Side if d hotel was a loud bar and we were just fortunate our rooms were located in d back portion and noise was not as loud as on the side rooms. WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE EVER!! My wife and I booked 3 nights here. Our first night there was a family reunion party being held outside our room all night - on the balcony our room was on, which was not meant to be used for anything but walking to and from guest rooms. About 50 "guests" were drunk and yelling and screaming and singing all night on this balcony, and we didn't sleep one minute. We called the front desk multiple times and they couldn't do anything, and were afraid to take a stand with these unruly and intoxicated guests. Then I called the police several times but because they were paying guests, they couldn't do anything either. We checked out with extreme insomnia the next day. The front desk employee said she got manager approval to reverse our hotel fee for the previous night and even gave us a reciept showing this, but the manager (Raj) later pretended this approval was never given, said the receipt was meaningless, and refused to process a refund. Stay away from this place!! Bad hotel, trashy guests, completely unprofessional and money hungry management! read more

Are you serious? It is definitely a hotel that caters to the non-traveller/non-tourist. To think HoJo is part of the Wyndham hotel chain is one thing. I can tell you right now that HOJO AND WYNDHAM haven't seen this place. It is not clean. It does not smell good. Non smoking rooms REEK of smoke. No discernable amenities. Stains on pillows, lamp shades, ottomans, drapes and the a/c unit. I had to throw a pillow into the garbage. Major disrepair in bathrooms and furniture. A PLETHORA of cigarette butts outside every door. No inspection of grounds being done...there is even a TV sitting out on the grounds! Refund unavailable due to booking through third party. A refund will be requested from the 3rd party, Wyndham AND HoJo. A can of Lysol later and we just may sleep. Nope...loud plumbing may prevent sleep. What did we expect for $115/night? read more

Had to call housekeeping up TEN times. Not joking. They then told me "Why you make such mess?!" Maybe if you cleaned the room BEFORE I checked in. Thats correct They gave me a dirty room at check in and when I asked for a refund they refused. STAY FAR AWAY AND LISTEN TO OTHER REVIEWS. Let me tell you a story about the most discussing crap hole I have ever had the misfortune to experience. It begins with 145.00 per night with a 50.00 deposit. (Remember this for later). So after the 200.00 payment for one night... we walked into our room to find it in shambles. . Debris all over the floor. .unmade beds. .towels on the floor. . I tried calling the operator but they would not answer the phone. .. so back to the lobby we went armed with pictures. . The front desk felt that the condition of the room was no big deal and with an attitude we were told it was no big deal and we were given another room. Ok... so we go back to the new room only to be greeted with a nausimgting smell. . One chair in the corner was ripped like a cat had clawed it up. . The other chair was very old. .sun bleached and covered in big unidentifiable stains.. both beds were broken with a huge dip in the middle like a taco and on a 90 degree Day the air conditioner was broken. . The bed spreads had stains on them and cigarette burn holes all over it.. the bathroom was so gross it reminded me of a honey bucket..so back to the lobby we went. Now you would think at this point they may be concerned with our experience. .. NO! Instead they explained that we should expect burn holes in the bed spread because people smoke in the rooms. . (Now remember that deposit?) What the hell do they do with the deposit? We should have known when before we paid they asked if we wanted to see room before paying what they will tell you is a non refundable room fee. .. I ended up throwing a fit because I truly felt it was unsafe to stay there and it was unbareable to be on the second floor on a hot day with broken AC. They promised to refund our money so we left. .we drove one block up the street to the Comfort Inn where for less money and NO deposit we recieved great service clean comfortable room. ... I honestly think if the health dept was to pay a visit to that gutter hole they would be shut down. .. o god... and they serve breakfast the there! I would honestly feel safer and more comfortable to stay and eat at the Seattle Mission on skid row... I don't often write bad reviews, but feel that it is totally appropriate in this instance. We were to stay 3 nights at this establishment while our house was being repaired from a flood a few weeks back. Our insurance people set us up as it was the last available place in the area. It was not my choice of neighborhood, but that we can live with. The evening was September 19th. The room was so filthy, The chairs and ottoman were stained. I have pictures that I could post. The TV did not work, further examination showed that the cable outlet was hanging off the wall. The bathroom was trashed, the bathtub was dirty. The room had a musty odor. There was food on the floor. When I checked into the room, it was late and by the time my wife arrived we were too tired to drive the half hour to my in-laws house. We braved one night and then got out of the place as quick as we could. This place is an embarrassment to the Howard Johnson's corporation and to the city of Kent. Okay for the price The floor in the hotel had a soiled spot and it needs to be steam cleaned as the socks I was wearing were practically black after just a few minutes of walking on this floor. I are a healthy eater then bring your own because you won't find anything healthy at the breakfast bar except for an Apple. We stayed here for 3 days when my family and I came for a trip to Seattle. This was our only option, I called about 15 hotels near by and everything was booked because there was a lot conventions in Seattle. They took advantage of busy season and charged us $280 per night. The tv was old and only had 2 channels that weren't blurry. The wifi never worked I asked why hey said it should work but didn't try to fix it. The room was nothing like the pictures on the website, instead the room was super tiny and seemed like it wasn't cleaned often. Worst hotel experience ever! I booked through Orbitz for 3 nights. We are on night one and I just booked another hotel for the other 2 nights. During the day at check in all seemed well. Then once evening hits the freaks come out. Pretty sure they have weekly rates. People were hanging out smoking/drinking etc at all hours. Dogs barking at all hours. The room smells of heavy chemicals, like they are covering an even worse smell. The bathroom/vanity lights stopped working -- so I took a shower in the dark. Did not feel comfortable walking my dogs in the late hours or even at 6 am when I was asked by some dude for a lighter. They advertise microwave and fridge, but had neither. Also found some ants crawling around the bed in the morning. Now we are super worried about bringing home bed bugs. AWFUL. read more

They took my deposit for getting A LITTLE blood on one towel. They also MADE my boyfriend wake me up to go sign a paper that could've been signed later in the day. I stayed here merely because it was convenient. It's one of the few hotels in the area that allows 18 year olds to check in. The staff was friendly and the lobby was beautiful, so I was hopeful for the rest of it. The bed was decent, so that was a plus. However, it was extremely hard to find an outlet near to the bed and one of the lamps was not plugged in at all. When I went to go to the bathroom, the floor was sticky and uncomfortable. The tub also looked like it was in poor condition. These were some things that I could live with, but did not necessarily like. However, this hotel soon became the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. Late at night, you could hear people talking loudly. It was the same early in the morning, except worse. People were yelling at seven in the morning and on multiple occasions someone would bump against my wall or my door. It was extremely hard to get the sleep that I very well needed for my 9 hour drive ahead of me. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. read more

Prowlers in the parking lot at night and the rooms are not clean. The furnishings, bedding and carpet are very old. Prob has not been remodelled for over 20 years. I don't care how well you clean, that is dirty. Your greeted by an overwhelming chemical disinfectant when you enter your room that belies the cover up of something terrible. The advertised wifi does not work. The cable is grainy and fuzzy. My TV was 10inches wide and old. The shower curtain was stained and gross. Alot of homeless and drug addicted people sleeping in the area. My truck was robbed during the night. The breakfast consists of warm milk from the poorly working fridge, Apple juice and orange juice that contains no actual juice and tastes suspiciously like it is watered down with tap water to make it last longer. Stale bagels and Stale cereal. Graffiti all over the place and an abandoned building and parking lot next door that further attracts the seedy attention of downtown kent. Do your self a favor and sleep in your car. read more

Hotel staff is friendly and go out of their way to be helpful. Great rooms for the price and very reasonable pet fees. An oasis compared to the Days Inn on Meeker. Free breakfast, fridge in room, even the maid was really nice. As far as cheap hotels go, I recommend this one. read more

Terrible. I've stayed at Howard Johnson in Portland for the same price that were WAY nicer so I didn't think I'd have a problem. First the front desk was rude and seemed uninterested in helping. Not all of them but one girl in particular was too busy on her phone. We called one day that we didn't need full housekeeping and they did it anyway. Then another day we called and said we didn't want housekeeping at all yet there was a knock on the door as I was tying to sleep. That tells me that they take our calls and ignore them completely and don't communicate to the housekeeper. Nice. Bathroom was absolutely disgusting. The owner clearly doesn't want to pay for any updates and doesn't care. No batteries in our remote and loud people running across the stairs. Gross and terrible service. read more

The shower curtain had a big hole in the middle of it. The refrig. had ice "growing" from the freezer compartment to the bottom of the frig. and smelled bad. There were small flying bugs on the mirrors. The sink stopper came completely out. When people walked by outside the bed shook. The carpet was dirty. The whole room was bad. When we checked out (early) the staff did not even care or ask if there was something they could do. They just do not care. Save yourself some grief, go ANYWHERE else to stay. We booked our hotel with expedia it was cheap but our booking said we will have fridge n microwave in the room and it wasn,t there .we had to ask n wait for 2 days for fride n microwave and when they bought me microwave it was smelling bad and i asked them to take it away .....when we entered the room lock was totally broken my worst nightmare ......on day 2nd there was a car roaming with four guys in that just wandering on the property .....i felt so inscure .......hotel doent feel safe at all .hotel staf is good but their carpets need to be cleaned ...... read more
