Cool Kentucky is a favorite walk through and it's found on the main floor. It's the reason the locals should visit. I learn something new each time and people in our state are highlighted in many ways. The Lewis and Clark exhibit remains and is likely the most kid friendly; however, this museum isn't really geared towards kids and they're going to become antsy fairly quick. Rotating exhibits always offer a reason to come back so I like to follow them on social media to see the announcements. Frazier offers an annual beer fest as well during late July/early August. I give them kudos for adjusting their displays and theming over the years to appeal to more visitors and remain open. It's a unique experience. Street parking, don't forget to pay the meter. Discount tickets may be found on Groupon. Annual membership is a good deal too.

When I think of the '60's, he was in the center of every shitstorm there was - old generation vs new generation, pro war vs anti-war, and toss in civil unrest, civil rights, and race relations for good measure. I followed him over his full lifetime, clowning around with Howard Cosell, throwing lightning fast punches in so many fights (you needed to see a slo-mo replay to appreciate his speed), watched his 1974 championship "Rumble in the Jungle" match against George Foreman on closed circuit TV while at college, remembered his incredible lighting of the Olympic torch at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics as his wracked body was trembling with Parkinson's disease, and mourned his 2016 passing. The Muhammad Ali Center is a multicultural institution and museum dedicated to the man's life and legacy. For a time, he was widely regarded as the most recognizable person on Earth. The Center covers so much more than his boxing career and also showcases his childhood and civil rights-humanitarian works. One of the exhibits features a child's bicycle- a red Cruiser Deluxe and I suspect no bicycle in history packs a backstory like this one. When Cassius Clay was 12 years old, a young hooligan stole it. After Clay discovered the theft, he began crying and screaming on a street corner when a policeman approached him and asked what was wrong. Clay responded with "someone stole my bicycle and when I find him, I'm gonna whup his ass!" The policeman asked Clay if he knew how to fight and took him to the local gym for boxing lessons. And that's how one of the twentieth centuries greatest characters began his rise into history and immortality. This is a must-see museum, plain and simple.

Our family members, who were visiting from Philly, lamented the fact that they don't have a kids science museum like this by them. It was neat to see it through their eyes. We also ended up getting the membership that also includes the Louisville Zoo. As long as we visit twice, the membership will be a deal. The science center also hosts great events, including some fun ones for adults. Plus we need to go back and see a film in its theater. Like I wrote in my last review of the center, it's a gem!

It also felt like there were a lot of kids not being watched closely so we had to keep an extra close eye on our younger crew in this space. They have a great collection on view and its changes from time to time. The entrance fee is a steal. It's under twenty dollars. The inspiration of another individual is just hard to explain. They are engaged with great attention to detail. One featured artist is Minnie Evan's she has an immersive experience here . Let's reflect and celebrate.

Every floor also features an activity area for groups and kids in the back. It's a nice feature. The first floor is mostly the shop with a lot of cool, some of it local art. Not bad prices either. I only got to see a sliver of its many acres, but my blood pressure dropped just from driving up to its main building. And if you are a bibliophile, don't miss this annual book sale! The proceeds benefit Locust Grove, and it boasts an awesome, overflowing selection of used books. I got there right when it opened at 10 a.m., and by 10:15, everyone was shoulder to shoulder. I came away, though, with a box of books for my and my family, costing just $30. The volunteers were great too, taking everyone's stacks of books to set aside while they shopped for more. I would love to come back for a proper tour and to bring my kids. Can't believe this site is just 10 minutes from my house and that I haven't properly enjoyed it yet. I'm excited to learn more about it!

While here working for Western Union, Edison rented a duplex. He was presumed to be around 19. In the city of Louisville at the time his skills with the telegraph presented him with work. During his time here he worked on improving the telegraph system and other equipment. At this little museum come and see the space that has been created in his honor . Many different patents he created. A few models can be seen here on display at this museum. For parking purposes they have a small lot. The hours vary so check before you come . If only for a brief moment in time, Edison studied here. It has been preserved for you to come.

Could it be in the wood. Perhaps because we are standing here in this factory on this tour. The bat, the Louisville slugger is the bat. The official bat of baseball. During this tour you will learn why? I cannot give it all away. Make sure and see it all. You can go in and hold a bat too. The vault of bats of over a 100 years old. The dreams that have come true as you stand here . Wow! Now for this experience it's timed when they have a line. Come during the day and usually the place is yours. The guided tours are great they are relatively cheap and easy. They provide reliable information about the highlights of baseball history. Now make sure and take a photo with the giant bat out front. PS- if u flew to Louisville and only took carry on luggage-- u will need to go to the post office and send your mini bats home because u cannot take it on your carry on. We bought a bubble envelope from a Dollartree and took it to a post office nearby.
