My girl and I stopped in to do some jewelry shopping. It's a really cute store with so much to choose from. We very much enjoyed browsing and didn't mind needing to be buzzed in. Edenside Gallery is a long-standing business in the Highlands. We used to visit more often but years ago when the kids came we stopped coming in. (The terror of a kid snatching an item from the table and hearing it hit the floor will do that!) It was a popular spot during Bardstown Aglow. I remember standing in line outside and waiting for others to exit. The store is full of so many things! Pottery, artwork, jewelry, furniture, candles ... a lot of home decor from various artists. You almost need to walk the store twice to make sure you didn't miss anything. The items at Edenside Gallery are high end and priced as such. Don't let the sticker shock get you, just appreciate the work. Service was friendly and available if we needed someone. Street parking was easy to find and no meters in this section of the Highlands. read more

This is a really cool store I got the chance to walk into while waiting for a table at Highland Morning. I don't hang around a lot on this side of Bardstown Rd, so I had never noticed it before. The lady at the counter told me it had been around for about 28 years! There are lots of cool things to find here: jewelry, cards, wall paintings, decor, etc. There's lots of natural light in the store which was fantastic! They even had plants around the room. It was cute! Just a bit pricey. But I know some of the pieces you can find here are probably really unique. Would love to return! read more

Pricy but unique! The ladies that helped us pick out some cool items for family members that are far away!! Christine and Nancy were very helpful and answered all of our questions. They have an ever changing gallery of jewelry, purses, decor and trinkets. This time they had these really cool horse shoes from race horses decorated with beautiful beads and charms to keep the luck in the home or work place!! I will definitely be back to get another taste of Kentucky art and decor!! read more

When it comes to shopping for gifts in Louisville, I usually wander around in circles until my friends point me in the right direction. Such was the case for how I 'discovered' Edenside. Again, I am stunned and shamed by the number of Louisville businesses that have been around for some time that were completely off my radar. Don't be put off by the name: there's much more in store at Edenside than art (though, of course, there's nothing wrong with art). I was so pleasantly surprised by the sheer number of items and types of objects in the store. Come here and plan on taking your time to look around. There are gems to be found but you'll have to put in some sweat equity. Everything is nicely arranged and very orderly (I believe the women who run the place are former teachers) but there's a depth to the inventory that you can't appreciate with a cursory look. Their collection is impressive -- and from all over. I walked in not knowing what I wanted to buy but sure that I would know it when I found it. I waffled from art to scarves to mementos to discussion pieces... and then I saw it: a beautiful, pink lemonade-colored large-jeweled necklace. I asked to take a closer look at the saleswoman marveled at its beauty with me. I almost pulled the trigger but the piece's backstory raised my 'Um, that's probably haunted' Spidey sense and I put it down. And that's when I really saw it: an indigo vintage designer purse. Done. Sold. I won at Christmas. I was quite impressed with my whole experience at Edenside. I'll definitely be back in the future to hunt for more great finds. Spending time and money here is worth the while. read more

Edenside Gallery is a great place to shop for your wife or girlfriend or even that mistress with the negligee waiting for you at the door. Unique gifts and beautiful jewelry. When my wife was my girlfriend I would always visit Edenside for unique jewelry. The staff was always friendly and helpful. In fact, my wife lost a sentimental necklace I bought for her. I was able to secretly replace it with an almost identical one thanks to the lady at Edenside. QWe had moved to California and it seemed lost for good. I have been going there for years to buy great, unique gifts - definitely something you can't buy everywhere but today will be my last visit to the store. For years I have put up with indifferent employees, that are not helpful, that do not greet you and sometimes make you feel like a bother. I have witnessed the owner be very combative about someone questioning the buzzer on the door, which is a real turn off for a lot of people any way, but today I've had enough. It's very unfortunate because I love the selection they offer but I guess unless you look like you're spending big money, no one will even greet you when you come in or make you feel like a valued customer. Yes, today is two days before Christmas and I understand they are busy but it has always been this way whether I am the only customer in the store or there are 15. Today I'm just done with the poor treatment of customers. read more

Walking into Edenside is a breathe of fresh air. I see the owner Nancy, taking all the time a young couple need to pick out the special piece of hand made jewelry. Light bounces off the walls as the art glass reflects around the room. Jewelry, sculpture all types of unique items. A wonderful place to shop. Everything is special and very well made. A colleague - I don't have subordinates like SOME PEOPLE I KNOW - suggested this place to me several years ago. I've picked up a few things over the years there but generally find that the stuff I like is overpriced. Still, the Hoff bought me a nice pair of earrings there last year ... went back for them in the pouring rain, which made them all the nicer to wear. This year we visited with the hope of finding something to match them. This shop seems like a pretty neat place to find a unique gift for almost anyone. They have paintings, woodwork, kettles, jewelry, etc. I've only come here when I've been browsing Bardstown Road so I haven't actually made any purchases since the things that catch my interest are usually a little pricey. There are a lot of great shops on Bardstown and I don't want to spend all my money in one place, which would be pretty easy to do here. If you have a chunk of money that you want to spend on someone for a great gift I would definitely recommend checking it out though. read more

WOW! Total disappointment in this place. Perhaps ownership is getting fatigued and cares nothing about customer service. Why post store hours if you are not going to follow them? Not sure how the participating artists are compensated but if its commission based you can't collect on what you can't sell. Very unfortunate. Used to be a destination. Not so much so now. read more
