Larry Martin was recommended to me by my church at the time- a church that promoted women being submissive to men. Larry acted so judgmental and pompous. He would roll his eyes, cross his arms, and sigh during interactions with me. He would hold his chin up high and look around the room avoiding eye contact or even looking in my direction. He always seemed busy. He acted like I was taking up his time, like I was a nuisance, like he was better than me. I was always polite and respectful to him. I apologized profusely for asking questions. I never called his office, requested meetings, or took up extra time. I filled out paperwork on time. Yet he acted like I was disgusting. While filling out paperwork to close the property, I was trying not to cry but a few quiet sobs escaped me. He sat stone faced across from me, sighed, and rolled his eyes.
