My husband's company uses them to administer some of their health benefits including HSA, FSA, Healthy Rewards, Deductible reimbursements and they are horrible at returning phone calls or emails. I wish his employer would open their eyes to how many people complain online about this company and make a switch. There's one person in particular named Megan Sharp that appears to be a higher up there and she is one that absolutely will not return calls. At one point we were leaving messages and not getting a response and found out later she had been off on leave, but never updated her voicemail to advise people calling in of this nor did she provide an alternative person to talk to in lieu of her absence. We've worked with two of the other (big) national payroll firms and while the payroll was always submitted flawlessly, the service left much to be desired. I credit this lack of service to the metaphorical barrier created by email, telephone, technology, and the fact that these "big" companies have such frequent turnover. My company was sold, the sales rep moved on, and I remember only having one individual payroll rep who exhibited anything top-notch from the standpoint of customer service. I've been working with HR Butler (both for payroll and health insurance) since 2008 and I can vouch for them, both personally and professionally. My sales rep has been in contact with me whenever I needed him since day-one. I've only had two payroll reps in almost 10 years and any oversights or mistakes that have ever taken place were immediately remedied. What I think sets them apart is the sincere care they have for their clients. If you're looking for a more personal touch when it comes to your payroll needs, I would absolutely recommend giving them a call to get a 2nd opinion. read more

I worked for a company that has went out of business, I have been attempting to get a copy of W2 for 2019. The people of HR Butler have not been helpful in the slightest. They have told me I need to have my previous employer request the documents to be released, wouldn't one think if I knew how to even reach my previous employer I would be reaching out to them for this information they no longer exist. Makes me wonder what you do if the owner of your company dies.. I understand protecting information but I am requesting information on my own wages I fail to understand how that is in anyway causing a possible infringement on an ex employer. All I want is my W2 so I can finalize my taxes. read more

We have had several issues with HR Butler, where they cannot seem to get the direct deposit done correctly. Any time a new employee starts for the company there is an issue with how the benefits are withdrawn from the paycheck, and they have to double pull on the next paycheck. Several times they have had to courier the paycheck the same day because they didn't do the direct deposit correctly and didn't send a paper check either. We also had an issue where an employee wrote the wrong account number for their direct deposit, which is their fault, so there is an understanding that it's not completely HR Butler's fault, but the way it was handled was the problem. We sent an email to HR Butler indicating the money wasn't direct deposited, they said they had a confirmation number etc. So we double check the account and routing number on the employees bank account and discovered the issue of a missing number, no problem right? Well HR Butler then replied.....Oh wait they didn't reply, we had to contact them again to see what was happening and they said well it's going to take a "few days" for the employee to get paid. We understand that the employee made a mistake on writing their account number down (why they didn't use the voided check I'll never know), but I don't think I've ever heard of a company saying, we're not going to give you your pay because you wrote down the wrong number, and until we have that reversal money back in our hands we won't give you your earned money. read more
