I initially went in to start the process with Jon, explained everything that we wanted and the deadline we needed the headstone by, the rest of my communication with Jon was thru text messages and by phone sometimes if more clarification was needed when we were designing the headstone, adding this and that or removing something, all done by text message and Jon was very patient thru the whole process because every detail creating our headstone had to go thru approval from me to all my siblings. There was no limitation to what they couldn't do. Jon also very knowledgeable about the type of headstone he would recommend due to the hard water in Central Valley cemeteries, he wanted us to have what was best for years to come that will last and not fade away in a year or less. Not make up an excuse. Terrible at time management. Shows up after hours to the house unannounced. Worked from like 7pm -9pm. Asked for money middle of the night claiming he was at Home Depot. Like buddy HD closes before 10pm. Changed the contract on us, charged us more than what was original. All this would have at least been worth it if the work was good. Nope he sprayed stucco all over everything. My house, river rock, walk way, all the way to the street. Spent additional time and money hiring someone to come fix his work. Cost for headache not worth it. Ended up costing me more just to never deal with him again. Do yourself a favor. Pay more and go without someone who's actually professional. He's not even licensed anymore. It's suspended I double checked. And not to even mention his language about his workers and other previous and current customers. When we called Tanner, he met us at the cemetery the next day and we arranged to go to his shop the following day to look at his work and place our order. We ordered a headstone, bench and marker for our daughter to be placed in our newly purchased family plot. We felt the quoted price was fair and reasonable. In fact, our items were completed in a few weeks and Tanner invited us to come up the shop to see the finished products. Needless to say, they were exactly what we wanted!! We further discussed the curb/wall that we wanted due to the hilly nature of the cemetery. Tanner was very honest with us when he explained that his current workload would not allow him to complete that work by the timeline needed to bury our daughter's cremains on her birthday. We appreciated the referral he gave us for another contractor. Unfortunately, the quote we received was much more than we could afford, so we decided to tackle the project ourselves. Over the course of the next 2 1/2 months, we spoke with Tanner in person and via email SEVERAL times and he was always kind, supportive and helpful. Since my husband and I were working at the cemetery almost every day, we saw Tanner and his crew a few times. They came over to see what we had accomplished, gave suggestions and told us that we were doing great job (much needed encouragement since we had never done anything like it before). When we talked with them about our daughter, it seemed that they genuinely cared about her and the loss our family had experienced. It was if they were old friends, sharing in our grief. As our daughter's birthday approached, Tanner and his team delivered our items, installed them and wished us well. It was a comfort to see such caring people who truly love what they do. The high standard they have for their workmanship is impeccable, their job is physically demanding and difficult and kudos to them for being a resource for people during one of the most difficult times in their lives.
