I have been to this auction a few times. This is a buyer beware situation. 95% of the items are open box or used. Sometimes they are packaged nicely and look new until you open the box and find broken or missing pieces. I also had a problem where they sold me a box that had a bunch of trash in it. Non refundable of course. When I say trash I mean bits of Styrofoam, plastic, and broken items with missing pieces. I won't be returning. It was fun for a while but overall a waste of money. Reluctant. This best describes how I feel about writing this review. Sharing this information cannot possibly benefit me in any type of way. The more people that know means more people that will come and will screw me out of some great deals. A true life altering, game changing event is what this experience was for me! I, rather we, my husband included will never, ever shop the same way again. I take that back, the whole family - the 19 and 13 years old too have also been bitten by the auction bug. I discovered HTF by accident on Facebook. It was random pics of various items for sale. No real marketing, not that appealing at all. Just pictures of stuff. An item I'd been shopping for was there. After the quick drive to Reynoldsburg and blowing by the entrance - easily done, the signage can be overlooked, the shopping adventure began! Honestly, I'm feeling like a fish out of water in what I consider the boondocks. It's loud, crowded, and quite country feeling. I'm somewhat overwhelmed and not sure what to do. There's three sections to the auction house, uncovered exterior, interior middle and rear section. I squeeze threw to the rear section where the cashiers are located. Thank goodness for friendly staff! The cashier (I feel bad I do not know her name) is a lifesaver! Other than watching Barrett-Jackson on TV, I don't know what to do! I get registered, get my number card and receive a quick tutorial from the friendly lady. There are new and used items on the floor, wall and tables. Just stuff everywhere. Everything from A-Z. Tools, furniture, appliances, pet supplies - truly a variety of everything! My first visit was comical. I'm intimidated, it's way too fast and I can't keep up! I also learn the hard way, DO NOT scratch your nose with your number card! You may unknowingly purchase an unwanted item! LOL If you're a newbie, take it slow, listen carefully and keep your card down at your side! Also, inspect every item you're interested in prior to bidding. Most importantly, practice some self control! In conclusion, I've saved hundreds of dollars on some big ticket items. I've also gotten unbelievable deals on things I probably could live without. Some deals you just can't pass up! So regretfully I share this info and hope that we don't cross paths in a bidding war! Fair warning, many visits later I've become skilled (I don't use my number card, I just nod because I'm cool like that) and very competitive! Find them on Facebook, auctions are weekly and be prepared to haul large items away. Arrangements can be made though. Cash and credit cards are accepted. Have been going to this auction for the last 6 months are so. Got a couple of good things, but honestly 90% of everything I got from there was trash. When you give them a bad review they start blaming the buyer and where they get their stuff from. Started bringing up how much I spent and what I bought. Told me I was rude, and clearly dont care about the respect of their client. Told me "DO NOT RETURN" if I couldn't give them the good review they "deserve". Have heard the staff complain about the buyers not bidding enough. Clearly they are more worried about making a quick buck then any quality of their product. But don't blame them for selling trash, but blame your self!!! Don't give them bad reviews even though they sell bad stuff every week because you'll be told not to return. Don't go and waste your money. This company is not grateful at all and feel like they deserve good reviews for doing NOTHING. No matter what your customer spends you should treat them with respect, and clearly they didn't do that. Will not be returning and would highly advise not going to this place. read more
