TLDR: This is not the company you want to trust to transport you after a medical procedure. A…read more15-minute ride ended up taking over an hour because the owner gave the driver the wrong address. The owner who handles dispatch is very unprofessional. The nurse called him twice when I was ready for pickup and he didn't answer until I finally called myself. When I made the reservation, I said I was going to Mathews St SW in West End. The driver took me to Matthews St NE and we ended up in Druid Hills before I noticed we were on the wrong side of town. What should have been a 15 minute ride ended up taking over an hour due to the mixup. The driver told me that's not the first time the owner had given him the wrong address. I was doped up after a medical procedure, so it's imperative that they accurately record the address during the reservation and not rely on incapacitated patients to catch these mistakes. That's exactly why hospitals won't let you leave in an Uber and insist you hire a medical transport company. I left a message for the owner relaying my concerns about my experience and no surprise, he didn't respond.

Researching transportation options online (since my dad hasn't received his Marta Mobility pass yet), I came across Mobility Partners. They were professional, punctual and reliable. Having booked a ride for a Sunday, the ride came at a premium price, which is understandable. For a pickup at 12p and return at 3p to go from Buckhead to Midtown was pricey -$74. The steep fare included the tip and Carol's help in getting my dad access to the disabled access area (boo to Empire State South for only having disabled access through the parking garage). Not sure what the regular rate would be, but for their professionalism and the quality of the vehicle that could accommodate my dad's wide, 300# motorized wheelchair, was worth it. Plus, to get my dad out of the nursing home and have him out and about and not have to rely on a taxi service (which, frankly, due to Yelper feedback, miiiight not go too well for me), it was worth it.

A driver driving in 3D medical transport van realized that the heavy motorized wheelchair her patient was in was malfunctioning. She took the extra awesome job on of pushing this patient in her chair all the way to the elevator and then to her correct floor and on to the Doctor's office. Kudos for that driver in representing what is still good and well with society. Her humanity was inspiring.

First, the 911 operator told me to gather my meds then go outside and lock my door and wait on the doorstep. Then she informed me she was hanging up, which I surely didn't expect. I thought she'd stay with me. Paramedics arrived within about 10 minutes. I was one flight up the stairs and on the ground at my door writhing in pain. There were two, but only one came upstairs WITHOUT THE GURNEY. It was left downstairs. The paramedic who came up offered me her hand and said, "Can you walk downstairs?" I was like, are freakin' kidding me? She was not. I could see they had no intention of transporting me down the flight of stairs. A few days later, I asked my retired firefighter friend about this. He apologized that that happened, and he said something like that would never have happened like this in California, where we are from. I can't believe I got down the stairs, but as a weightlifter I mentally treated it like a lift. It was awful. Also, I get that in their profession they have to work with a lot of people who are uncomfortable and may be annoying at times, but it sure didn't feel very nice being on the receiving end of their impatient responses.

My daughter had an ambulance transport date of 1/31/2025. The company did not send me a bill and I provided her insurance card at the time of transport. I did not get a bill until August. I provided the requested information on the bill immediately; however, because the company had let so much time pass, it fell outside the time requirement for submitting the claim to my insurance. Now, the company is trying to charge me for the ride because *they* did not ask for the insurance information (that I had already given them) and submit the paperwork in time. This is ridiculous and unethical. My run number was 25-19885, for if the company actually cares enough to look into this. I have called repeatedly with no help. And by the way - the drivers didn't even know where the Emergency room at CHOA Arthur Blank hospital was. We drove around for 10-15 minutes just trying to find it. That's literally their job to know where to go, and quickly. Thankfully my daughter was stable and it was ok.
