I asked them about shutters and they immediately shut me down saying they were too expensive. When I contacted HWB, Bryan responded right away and came out. I was having a lot of work done at the house when he came but he was patient and took his time showing me options and making recommendations. When I asked about shutters he explained the pros and cons and had actual samples ao I could see how they would look on my windows. He took measurements of all the windows and advised me what would and would not work. Bryan was personable and knowledgeable. He was patient as we weighed our options and answered our emailed questions quickly. The prices were reasonable and he gave me hope when we found out many of our windows were now super shallow. As a customer, I felt completely dismissed after spending a significant amount of money. I believe the product was overpriced for the quality delivered, and I feel the sales presentation created expectations that the finished product did not meet. If I had known what I would actually receive, I would have never made the purchase. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Rockwell shutters. The reason this not a 5 is that there are a few gaps between the screen and the wall. One area running the entire height of the screen is especially bothersome. I was told that because it is up against an uneven brick surface they can't do anything about it . Not because it's UN fixable, but because they just don't do that. They suggested I get "some stuff" from the hardware store and fix it myself, saying that their caulk wouldn't work. I am going to have the remaining portion of my patio screened but now I think maybe I'll find someone else who can do the complete job.

I was a little concerned about using a Houston company that would have to make a special trip to Austin to do the installation, so I traveled to Houston to meet with the TMax team to see their products in action and discuss our project. They graciously met with me for over an hour, going over fabrics and colors and weights and advantages and disadvantages of all the options. They gave me samples of the screen and shade materials as well as the metal rails to discuss with my wife. We decided we needed a custom order for the rail color and they matched it to our aluminum French doors perfectly. On the day of the installation, a four-man crew arrived exactly on time, and carried out a near-perfect installation, without damaging anything (as so often happens with contractors). With the drive to and from Austin, it must have made for a long day for the installers, but they were in good spirits and 100% professional throughout the entire installation. We love our new screens/shades as they let us fill the house with fresh air in this cooler weather without inviting insects in, and the shade/screen color is a beautiful match for our house. The motors are so quiet they don't even bother our dog, who usually lets us know how much he hates machine noises. If you're considering adding retractable shades to your home, you can't do better than to hire TMax for the job.
