If I could give this company and its employees 6 stars, I absolutely would. **Pictures to come** Backstory: I needed window coverings for a new construction town home in West Houston. My townhome contains between 20 and 25 windows. I wasn't sure what type of window coverings I wanted due to questions about purpose (heat resistance/aesthetics/etc) and cost. Scheduling: I requested a quote using Yelp on a Saturday. Within 30 minutes, I had a reply informing me that my request had been received and John would give me a call shortly to schedule a time to see the house and discuss my options. John called, set up the appointment, and arrived 5-10 minutes before the scheduled time. I'm a big fan of punctuality. Our checklist: We knew we wanted shutters, but budget was a concern. John explained the cost in a very transparent manner. No hidden fees, surcharges, etc. I also wanted one of the rooms to be as dark as possible as it was primarily going to be used for watching sports and I didn't want glare. John took the time to explain his different offerings to achieve that goal. I ended up with cellular shades which perform wonderfully. All said and done, we ended up with shutters on one flood, cellular shades and roller shades on another, and wood blinds in the bedrooms. Also, there were a ton of options to customize color, shutter trim, valance options, roller fabric, and many more. Installation: All of the window coverings were installed with the care you'd expect someone to use in their own home. John was very flexible with the appointment scheduling. There were 2 different appointments, one for the shutters and one for the rest of the coverings. His installation job was quick and efficient without being hasty. Overall: All said and done my wife and I were happy with the customer service (that actually played a huge part in our choice to go with this company because of some previous bad experiences), the scheduling, the installation, and, of course, the cost. John was great to work with when he visited my home and helpful with making selections. I paid for all agreed upon selections before he left my home that day. There was some missed opportunities with installation as during the second installation visit, the team left without one window covering being installed. At first the thought was that we hadn't ordered it, followed by a lot of confusion about if it was on the truck. This caused the need for a third visit for that window covering to be installed. Today, after having paid in full almost 2 months ago, I receive an email from my credit card company alerting me that a large purchase was approved and that I was over my limit as usually only use that card for home improvement purchases. When I called, the person that answered cut me off mid sentence and noted that she made a mistake and fixed it. Although I was calm and polite, I would have appreciated the opportunity to finish my sentence without a flippant excuse. I would also hope for a call once that mistake was made, as opposed to me having to call them. I purchased a new home in the Willowbend area. Out of the two companies that I asked for a quote, Chris with Blinds and Shutters of Houston seemed to be the most knowledgeable of the two. Chris came out and gave me a very competitive bid and it showed he knew his stuff. The other competitor was 3 day blinds. Even though 3 days was a larger company and could get me the blinds installed quicker, there sales person could not offer me any valuable consultation. When I asked there suggestion to what would work in my house, the rep just responded "it just depends on what you like" The problem was I didn't know what I like and Chris made the buying process very easy. I was thinking about spending tons of money on Roman Blinds or Plantation Shutters, but Chris felt that was too dressy for my modern looking house. Was he right! The new feaux blinds Blinds and Shutters install are beautiful and the color even matches the window trim almost perfectly. The customer service is also excellent. The blind company accidentally sent over a couple bad blinds and Chris quickly replaced them and didn't accept final payment until they came in.
