I paid approximately $1,500 expecting a high quality custom window treatment. Instead , what I received liked nothing like what I believed I was purchasing. The product consisted of a simple wood valance with a plastic hanging from it, and the sides were unfinished without proper seams. For the price I paid, the quality was far below my expectations. The biggest disappointment was the company's response. After explaining my concerns and asking for a reasonable resolution, I was essentially told there was nothing they were willing to do. As a customer, I felt completely dismissed after spending a significant amount of money. I believe the product was overpriced for the quality delivered, and I feel the sales presentation created expectations that the finished product did not meet. If I had known what I would actually receive, I would have never made the purchase. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Rockwell shutters. I encourage anyone considering this company to ask detailed questions, inspect samples carefully, and make sure they fully understand exactly what they are purchasing before signing a contract. read more

Customer service is absolutely non-existentent. My order was changed without my authorization. I ordered 3 blinds on one rail and they came as 1 big blind on 1 rail, never a communication to make this change. No one was ever available to speak with and calls not returned. Invoice offered very little information about the order, no measurements or pricing breakdowns. Rockwood rejected any compensation for the obvious unauthorized change made in my order. In addition, they tell you this is a Houston based company but the blinds are made in China, I was led to believe these are made in the US. DO NOT buy from this company, no customer service and keep your fingers crossed they actually install the product you order. I will say, Home Depot was very helpful in getting some compensation. I have very serious doubts about the so called lifetime warranty. read more

We paid over $5,000 to have 5 windows covered in plantation shutters and I was super excited to get them done instead they installed outside the windowsills , these shutters do not look like they are part of my home. I was not told these would be installed outside the panes. I reached out to the lady to helped us order with no help. She just took our money & doesn't have any remorse for it. I regret using Rockwood & wanted to complete my other windows but will never use Rockwood again. We were lied to about a border that would go around the shutters & they did not place what we wanted . And I was treated like it doesn't matter & our money is lost now . I am very upset with Rockwood & will be going to Home Depot to complain as well. Ordered shutters and blinds Mar 10, 2026 ..May 7th was install date was called day of install..the shutters were in the wind..so many excuses..I felt I worked for rockwood as I was the only one reaching out to see what was going on..end of May after no success with Rockwood called home depot. Only then did Rockwood reach out when I was ready to cancel said order. against my better judgements they convinced me to set up another appt. June 8, 2026 9-1 show up time...never showed and no one ever called regarding appt..I called to make it known I wanted the order canceled and refunded..lousy customer service..early on I asked to speak to a supervisor..im still waiting for that call. Experience was worse than the lowest rating of not good. I went with Rockwood because it is a partner of Home Depot. The design consultant came to my house to "consult", and I explained to her that I wanted blinds similar to the ones that were in my house but better quality. I also wanted all of the windows to have matching treatments. She proceeded to show me cloth blinds, but I didn't find those practical. She then recommended shutters. She did not show me an example of what they would look like or how they operate. In my mind, shutters and blinds look similar. When I asked if they open up and down, she said yes but once they were installed, I could see she meant the slats open at top and bottom not that you can pull them up and down like a blind. She also did not mention that you may need to move some furniture to open the shutter door to be able to open a window or that you have to leave the middle shutter doors on a bay window closed all of the time. The shutters are bulky and not all doors line up so I have to mess around to get them to close properly. Unfortunately, because I trusted that she listened and actually saw an example of what I wanted, I went with her recommendation for the shutters. Big mistake on my part. Her recommendations were not cheap! Must be commission-based pay. On installation day, the installer discovered that 2 of the bay window shutters were damaged during shipping so those were not installed. He then discovered that one of the shutters could not possibly fit in the kitchen window and they would have to figure out an alternative. This shutter was also damaged during shipping. I did not sign up for an alternate covering. The consultant measured the windows, submitted those to the manufacturer and represented that all shutters could be made and installed as promised. I find it hard to believe that she could not see that a shutter would not fit in the kitchen window. I requested a refund for this shutter because their alternative was unacceptable. Now I have to find a covering that won't match the shutters which is clearly not what I wanted. Through the process of trying to straighten out the issues, the Company continuously reminded me that I got what I ordered. I never disputed that; however, the Company never accepted any responsibility for anything or showed any care for customer relations. Whenever we had communications, it always felt like an argument. To end further contact with the Company I wrote and told them not to remake the damaged shutters and that I would be going elsewhere to get what I wanted. I did request a refund for these because they had been reimbursed by insurance and they had not been remade. They agreed to it, but when I asked a question on poor wording and confusing information for a document they asked me to sign, they got rude about that too. Now I will take the loss and look for a Company that can finish the project in a professional and polite manner. read more

If he comes to your house, save yourself some time and ask him to leave. Very disrespectful. Mis-measured 2 of the blinds. Took no responsibility. Two weeks later came back to install, broke one of the windows because he made another mistake about the control position and took no responsibility and rock wood took his word over mine and denied the claim. Months have gone by and the shades are still wrong and nobody has anything to say. Calling them is truly a waste of time. They promise you the world and give out nothing but lies and problems that they do not take responsibility for. I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Rockwood Shutters and Blinds especially after spending over $30,000 on window treatments for my home. From the beginning, the process has been filled with problems. I currently have three motorized blinds with broken motors that have never even been used. In addition, my over sized, pricey, shutters arrived damaged and had sent back for repairs, and installed later than my other window treatments -- an unacceptable inconvenience after such a large investment. What is even more frustrating is the lack of communication and transparency from the sales representative. I ordered motorized Roman shades, and it was never explained to me that the motors would cause the shades to protrude noticeably from the windows or that installation would require drilling into my brand-new windows. Had this been properly disclosed, I would never have chosen this product. I believe the sales representative failed to adequately explain the product limitations and installation requirements, and the company should stand behind its customer service and replace the Roman shades with a solution that is appropriate and aesthetically acceptable. For a company charging premium prices, I expected professionalism, quality products, and honest guidance. Instead, I have dealt with defective products, repeated repairs, damage concerns, and poor communication. I cannot recommend this company based on my experience. read more

I have an order for shutters that are supposed to be installed today. I was notified yesterday that they would be out today. I called the company this morning to find out if they had a better time of arrival to find out they aren't actually coming at all. Had I not called them I would have been waiting around all day. They are not coming and my next day of is in June. And they don't work the weekends. Could not get in touch with anyone in management. I was told they could call me at the end of day. No communication email or phone call about my appointment getting canceled. Will not be doing anymore business with them. Don't use this company because they install on their timeline not yours. Karis, our salesperson, was very knowledgeable and professional. However, the Customer Service Department was unprofessional and unresponsive and the Installation was a nightmare. Over the course of our order, we were provided with two different Customer Service "concierge professionals." Both were always "unavailable to take our call" when called and neither one returned a phone call. It always took multiple phone calls and left messages to get either one on the line. When it was time to measure for the shutters and blinds ordered, it took three scheduled dates to do this. The first time, we were given a four hour window and the measurer arrived for 1.5 hours late. We were then told that he would have to come out again to remeasure and, instead of spending another half day waiting for him, we cancelled the order for the window that needed remeasuring. The next scheduled time was for installation. We were given a Sunday afternoon, again with a four hour window from 1:00-5:00. We waited all afternoon and he never showed up at all. We called to see if he was planning to show up, was promised a call back and it never came. read more

I had shutters installed by Rockwood Shutter through Home Depot. I was told they had a lifetime warranty. After three years the largest shade failed to go up fryer pulling it down. Our local Home Depot sent me to Rockwood. They told me to ship the 60" blind to the factory in Utah. What REALLY poor service. They didn't try to repair it or send out a service tech. To ship something like this to Utah would have probably cost me $100. I took the shade to a local blinds company and they installed transmission and charged me $45.00. It was done in one day! we were assured of a before Christmas installation, however the product arrived 3 days before Christma. When I called the number of the coordinator, the phone was not answered. The "customer service " person gave me a lesson on reading the contract, interrupted me while I talked - to restate the contract. Did not want to hear that we had called out the discrepancy with the sales person. Additionally, we were told multiple times that the product was made In the US - Not True - it came from the UAE... So disappointed in the overall experience. We will not be using this vendor for blinds in the rest of the house. We had signed up through Home Depot for this service and will not be doing that again. We ordered and had installed blinds in our bedroom. When installed, they hung too far below the window sill. Clearly the measurements they took were incorrect. When I contacted Jaylynn, letting he know they were too long and bunch up on the sill, she informed there was nothing they could do. So we are stuck looking and these wayyy too long shutters. I recently got the shutters installed from Home depot. I would give five stars to Rockwood Shutters for their professionalism. Their designers and installers are very informative and patiently answer to all the queries. There was mistake during the measurements, and the shutter frame was cut small. The installer ensured it was reordered and installed back in a week time. The Rockwood staff promptly followed it up. A special thanks to the designer Sarah Bettin and installer Herb. As far as pricing is concerned Home depot gave a very competitive quote. It was better than Costco. Home depot does have a financing available for shutter projects. You can always put them on 24 month interest free finance on a home depot credit card. We had $7000 worth of blinds installed in our condo in Punta Gorda, Florida in November 2023 and when the blinds were installed, they were never programmed so we had the installer back out to fix that. We have six blinds and the remote that came with them only allows for five programs. So naturally, our blinds still weren't programmed correctly. In the meantime, the installer accidentally broke one of the blinds, so we had to schedule ANOTHER visit for him to replace that blind and again, try to program based on six blinds with a remote that only accommodates five. He did not bring a different remote and was not able to fix the broken blind. NOW, after the last attempt to program our blinds, the first and sixth blinds don't work AND our blinds STILL aren't programmed. On another note, we have tried to call Rockwood's customer service line at least 15 times and half of the time we were hung up on because their system is flawed. The other half we never got a call back. We left our service rep multiple messages unreturned, as recently as yesterday and today. This product is terrible and I can't believe Home Depot sells it! I purchased interior shutters from Rockwood Shutters (through Home Depot) for my 3-bedroom home. I had an overall poor experience. It took ~6 months for one of the shutters to be installed after three situations where I scheduled the installation date, they confirmed the installation the day prior, and then they cancelled after the scheduled time due to the shutter either being the wrong fit OR "damaged in storage". I could certainly understand if this happened one or even two times, but three is a lot. I finally contacted Home Depot's customer care when Rockwood Shutters refused to cancel the order for the final shutter, despite one of their representatives giving me that choice on the phone. The shutter is now installed and they provided a 50% discount off the single shutter, plus a $250 additional refund due to inconvenience, but given how expensive the shutters were and the length of time it took to resolve the issue (and the fact that I had to get Home Depot's customer care involved to even get straight answers from Rockwood), it doesn't seem like enough. I didn't get the sense that this company is truly committed to strong customer service. Additionally, installation was not particularly well done. Many of the shutters were installed crooked (now fixed) and the caulking job on one of them is horrific and I will need to redo. All to say, I will not use this company again and would not recommend them to others. read more

I had shutters installed about 1 year ago and couldn't be happier. They made my rooms appeared larger and brighter. I get sunshine as much or as little as I need by just moving them up or down. They are gorgeous and I received them at 0% interest for 2 years which is why I could afford them. As soon as these are paid up I intend to have installed a shutter on my last window and possible my sliding glass doors. Perfect measurements were taken and the installations was great. read more

STAY AWAY FROM ROCKWOOD SHUTTERS! We spent $1000 for two blinds and it was absorutely a waste of money. The measurement was incorrect, The installer damanged the wall so I submitted a claim, but the claim department declined my claim saying the damage was caused by removing the hardware from previously installed product. What actually happened was the isnstaller scraped the wall with a headrail. The blind wand taches the valance so it scratchs the inside of the valance when you open/close a blind and makes squeeky noise. The quality of product is terrible. Don't waste your money! read more

A tentative 4 stars! I absolutely LOVE my Plantation Shutters. They were more costly than I would have liked (approx $800 ea), but my "new" home came w/ them on only the first floor. Supposedly, having the shutters on all the windows adds at least $5,000 to the sale price of a home (& I tend to move a lot:) The shutters are available in the 3-inch width that I selected or a smaller width. They can also be sectioned differently. (I selected 4 panels with an independent top & bottom level, but there were other options.) Colors other than white are available. HOME DEPOT contracts out to this Houston company. Apparently, there are thousands of businesses nationwide that utilize this company (according to my barefoot installer). This company has no showroom; it is a contract work enterprise-- a subcontractor. I arranged with Home Depot for a worker to be sent to measure & provide an estimate. I was surprised when I received emails & a call from local Rockwood representative "Anna" (& not a Home Depot employee). I wasn't thrilled when I was later advised I couldn't purchase ANY blinds from Home Depot nor take advantage of its Levelor special that was underway. But Rockwood's quote was similar to what I would have to pay for Home Depot's Levelor blinds installed by someone I hired myself, so I decided to proceed w/ Rockwood. The saleswoman (Anna) who was sent out was friendly & professional. I only wish she had explained that the blinds don't entirely match my downstairs blinds (different hinges) or that the slats cannot move to the fully downward position (as my existing blinds do). However, the Rockwood blinds are beautiful & well-made! I paid in full immediately (as instructed) & soon received my signed 3-page contract via email. (Customers are allowed to change their minds even on the day of installation-- after installation.) The installer, who arrived w/ the shutters approx 3 wks after they were ordered, was OK (other than the barefoot part). He challenged me on where I needed him to park so as not to block my neighbors, & he damaged (slightly) the wall/paint over the stairwell. I watched him look up at the damage, yet say nothing-- pretending it wasn't there, I suppose. I knew I could Spackle & paint, but his honesty would have been appreciated. Installation took about 40 min for both sets of Plantation shutters. That was approximately 10 minutes longer than anticipated (because my neighbor needed to park-- lol). Upon completion, I was provided no additional paperwork on the blinds; however, I was told there's a lifetime guarantee. I phoned the company today and left a message; I want the guarantee in writing & I'd like a booklet (or something) that provides info on the actual shutters. No one returned my phone call. This review will be updated should Rockwood not oblige. The shutters may be spectacular, but excellent service should supplement them. That guarantee is important to me. **No one returned my corporare phone call; however, Anna replied to my email & explained that the company is "paperless." Someone needs to inform the Better Business Bureau about the poor performance of Rockwood Shutters. I submitted my first review but somehow Rockwood was able to delete it! I paid almost $4000 for shutters and several weeks later, Rockwood told me that the final installation would be on 2/16 between 1 PM to 5 PM. At the last minute yesterday (2/16), the technician called me and said that they lost my shutters and they did not know what happened to them. Then I called the Rockwood office and was told the same thing, they lost my shutters and had no clue what happened! Then the technician texted me and said he would come to my house at 6 PM. He arrived at my house at 6 PM and told me that my shutters were still missing and no one knew what happened to them, the technician told me something had gone very wrong with the shipment. Today (2/17) I called the Rockwood office and I was told the same thing, my shutters are missing and they did not know what happened! Then someone from Rockwood called me and said that I posted a bad review on Yelp and that I needed to calm down and that she would try to figure out what happened to my shutters. I asked when she would know about my shutters, she told me she did not know! This is very interesting, after this phone call, I checked Yelp and noticed my first review was gone. I posted two more reviews but a few minutes later, they were also gone! I checked the receipt from Rockwood and the phone number shown on the receipt isn't my phone. number. I need to contact the Better Business Bureau and Home Depot needs to know that they are working with the worst company (Rockwood). I went to Home Depot to order the shutters but Rockwood company is working on the shutters thus Home Depot is also responsible! STAY AWAY FROM ROCKWOOD SHUTTERS! THEY ARE UNTRUSTWORTHY! Okay, so we had our shutters installed less than a month ago. Paid nearly $7000 dollars for this mess so far. We have another appointment on August 28th, but i do not feel confident about the communication with the company so far. They are sending the same reinstaller back out. My house already had shutters on the majority of the house and we only wanted a door, and 2 sets of windows added. The shutters are uneven on the windows and the door shutters are cracked and the worst part is that the installer who measured them installed them on the decorative trim damaging the door. Ill attach pictures, but it sure would have helped if the company would have sent a representative out to look at the completed install. I have never seen this type of work, especially for the price. We purchased our first condo in Florida and this was our second upgrade. We installed all new windows and wanted the perfect shutters to match. We chose the right company. They are not cheaply made and I cannot understand why anyone would give this company one star? The outside installer drove over an hour to install our blinds and he was the nicest guy ever. Very knowledgeable and even had to adjust the size himself because the guy who measured didn't quite get the measurement right. Really can't say enough about this company, will definitely use them again and refer any one looking to give you guys a call. read more
