One of the few places that is consistently good. Another good visit, this time it was so comforting, my foot massage, that I very nearly fell asleep. I never have to wait more than five minutes for a massage, and usually get invited in right away, like all clients. Most of the staff speaks very little English, so if you find one who does, you can communicate to your masseuse through him/her. This is the best $38 you can spend for one hour. Personally, I think they keep the price low so that you will tip more, and I have no problem with that. You can order front or back or whatever type of massage you want, and if you have to get specific, you can use your English-to-Chinese translator on yours or theirs phone. Right next to the Ranch 99 market, and two doors down is the Chinese Herbs store, where they have all the stuff that will keep you living past 90 (or more). Preface.... Self-care is fairly new to me and I'm definitely NOT a connoisseur when it comes to massages. This is not a "spa" massage. It is an hour long, full-body pressure massage over your clothes. It cannot be beat for the price. If you need a little self-care but don't want to drop $300, this is a great place. You do have to communicate if you want light or gentle pressure as they usually err on the side of deeper pressure. Since the windows are tinted a bit dark, when you open the door make sure no one will barge into you as they walk out. A lady almost jammed the door in my face when I was entering the spa. I was a bit confused if I was just supposed to take a seat upon entering or wait at the register. I waited at the register and someone told me the wait would be about 10 minute. Once they take you in, you remove your shoes and they have a warm bucket of water to have them soak while you get a face, scalp, and shoulder massage. My massage lasted about a hour. Not only it is a foot massage, but you also get a back and arm massage. I like that the masseur was not asking questions and let me relax. After my massage I felt like I was floating for about 20~30 minutes. I wish it was a bit quieter while I was there, but overall it was a good experience. read more

Good atmosphere, but very little is said before you lay down and begin your massage. It would have been helpful if the technicians asked if you wanted it to be stronger or softer once they begin. Most people don't know they should say something and also many of the people who work here don't understand English. I went with two friends and they had very rough massages while mine was a little on the light side. Also my hair was wet when I laid down and I figured they would change the towel for the next person - they don't change the towels between customers - so if you're concerned about hygiene, you might ask them to put a new towel down when you get there! First visit and first try to get a massage here. I was desperate and my feet were really hurting from all my activities. I almost rarely ever rest rest. I'm always on my feet and I work very hard but I also take good care of myself. There is a saying: Take care of myself first so I can take care of others. This is very true. OR.... Is it "Happy wife, happy Life"? Joke! This is one way I can take care of myself by getting a really good reflexology massage. This place offer this reflexology massages but you have to be specific when asking for a massage. The experience yesterday was amazing! I had a man massaged me and he was very skillful. He started with massaging my head, my scalp and worked his way to my neck, shoulders and arms. This kind of massage has a lot of kneading and focuses on pressure points. He's methodical. Then, he massaged my legs and feet per my request. He really took his time working on all sides. He put enough pressure on the areas where I needed them. He was very careful. I really appreciated his professionalism. I highly recommend this place. Too bad I didn't and forgot to ask for his name. I will ask for him again the next time I go back. First time to this establishment. I love these foot massage places where for 30 bucks (40 with tip) you get an amazing massage while staying fully clothed. First they put your feet in hot water and they massage your neck, shoulders, and arms. Then an amazing foot massage followed by a back massage. I like deep pressure and it does not disappoint! I've been coming here for a few years. The $40 pricing has remained consistent. I tip in the $10-$15 range depending on the service. Establishment is clean and legit. The only downside is consistency. Once I find a massage artist that does well, even with the lack of English I am usually pleased with the service. But after a few months, they will be gone. Finding a new one that does a good job can be hit or miss. I usually say "medium" and that works. I have said "hard" and afterwords have felt sore for days. For me it is too rough. They do hot stone massage. And a hot towel. 1/23/20 Haven't come here a while. Still a good deal, except when I went to pay the price has gone up to $55. My boyfriend is a big fan of this place and is always looking for an excuse to stop by and get a foot massage. Its reasonably priced and as everyone knows its a good way to get a full body massage. We like that it is something that we can do together, although truly we just end up laying next to each other for an hour in silence. It makes for a great rainy day activity when we are bored and can't think of anything else to do. Plus we have a lot of stress in our lives and this is a good way to get some self care. We usually walk in and find out how long the wait is and then walk around Ranch 99 until it is our turn. Sometimes they are too full and we have to come back at a different time, this does happen fairly often, but we usually try to stop in on weekends. I imagine its possible to make an appointment over the phone, but we've never tried this. I enjoy the foot soaking in the warm water that starts off the treatment. I am always cold and relish the chance to be heated up. I also enjoy that this massage is over your clothes, so you don't have to deal with all the awkwardness of being undressed that often comes with a regular massage. If its your first time do keep in mind you will need to roll up your pants and you may want to wear loose fitting clothing. You may also not realize that you will be in a room with everyone else with no privacy. I like the actual massages less and less as time goes by. I think they have become too rough and I often leave feeling pretty beat up. This is not the type of place where they check in to see if you like the pressure, etc. Its still enjoyable, but I really feel like I might end up getting hurt someday.I do still continue to go, because I do enjoy parts of it, but every time I leave I think I should get a regular massage next time instead. Creeped out - I'm never going back. Visited on 2/18 with a girlfriend who had been before. I had a male masseuse - the massage was sloppy, kind of like he made it up on the spot. At the end when I was getting my shoes on, he said "you're very flexible." I didn't say anything. My friend paid, and while I waited to pay, the masseuse said I was "beautiful, like movie star" - and stood VERY close to me and stared at me. I paid quickly and then he then practically followed us out the door. Some of the things he did during the massage were questionable. He would get a liiiiitle too close to places he shouldn't, then would quickly move on. He is inappropriate and his behavior borders on harassment. I want to report him but I don't know his name - will find out. No one else should have this happen to them. I like this place - 1 hour for $30.00 (are you kidding me)?! True bargain for a massage fiend like me. It's a no thrills type of place, you're fully clothed in a room full of strangers. You lay back on these huge cushioned seats while your feet soak in warm water. The person massage therapist starts with your head and moves their way down to your feet. Then you flip over and get your backside worked on. It's my new treat - I highly recommend. The have frequent user type cards that you get signed/stamped after each massage. I believe after 10 you get a freebie. Well I grabbed the card after my first massage not knowing what it was (I wanted to be sure to return to the same place my second time around). When I was ready for a second massage a few weeks later, I pulled out my card and realized it as a frequent user card. After my second massage I was sure to ask to get a stamp. I actually asked for two stamps since it was my second time and I had my receipt from first massage to prove it was a legitimate request. I was declined (I don't believe the massage therapist understood what I was requesting). I don't agree the decision and will ask again when I go back. So I handed him the total 7 bucks, all I got from him was disgusted face, and he scoffed at it, as if we wronged him. I understand the tips we gave weren't a decent amount, but after paying for the right price, no matter how much the tips we gave, that's our choice, and shouldn't be looked down upon at. Seriously, begging for tips and once the tips you get does not meet your expectation, then you disgusted them and scoffed in front of your customers, only this will not let us come back again. Not everyone has a lot to give, but we gave all we had, and that's all we got from you. Leaving tips are nice things to do and we understand that. However there is no requirements to tip, and there is no requirements to tip how much. Not to mention I asked him "how much tips you usually takes" I did ask him, and he did reply no matter how much. 3. The massage is painfully hurting. My husband said the staff was trying to kill him, and if the massage would last 5 mins longer, he would actually succeed. Mine was pretty painful too. The most important thing to me is feeling comfortable and safe. I went on a Friday evening because my feet and lower back had been hurting all week. I was pleasantly surprised to see an open room with many massage stations and it felt safe and comfortable being around others. I appreciate that you stay clothed as well. The massage was definitely painful but it's exactly like how my Chinese mom gave massages to me growing up. I left feeling less tense and more relaxed. I don't go into thinking this is going to be a relaxing experience. I go into it expecting my muscles to be massaged and stretched. My friend and I love this place!! It's $30 for a full body massage. They apply a lot of pressure and really relieve you of any tensions. My friend and I always joke that we're hunchback because we slouch so much but I feel a lot better after going here. This is your typical asian foot spa so I wouldn't come in here with the expectation of 5 star service and everything catered to you. I've seen someone get upset because her masseuse was picking up cell phone calls while finishing her massage that she just wanted to stop. You're in an open space with all the other clients in the same room. I've paid $$$ for luxurious spas (and a spa-like experience) to spoil myself but if you're looking for a nice, everyday laid back massage after a hard day's work or having some tension and the above things listed don't bother you then I would highly recommend coming here. This is based on 12 diminishing visits. This place started clean and has really gone down hill with cracked vinyl and bad smells. 4 massages were superb. Only one good one was done by a guy. All the men stink of nicotine and their last meal. Knowing this I started putting menthol in my nose before visits. Today's massage.. my last one here was interrupted by phone answering and was accompanied by a rotting vegetation smell that would not go away. It was a guy doing the massage. One of the least inspired. He was not intuitive like others had been. The ladies always did a good consistent job but this place needs to step up the cleanliness and quit cutting corners. I had a great experience here! I walked in and they were available for a massage right away. When I sat down I was expecting just a foot massage. They brought out a tub of hot water for me to put my feet in, and then they reclinded the chair I was sitting in. Once they reclined my chair, they threw towels over the top of me and then started massaging my head. It was great! They went to my arms, my legs, then my feet, etc. The whole time I was thinking, there is no way that this is only $25/hr. When we went to pay for the massage, she said $25! This shop absolutely deserves 5 stars. I regularly get massages, and have tried a few different places around town. Happy Feet in Ravenna is a good place, no doubt, but Da Zheng is the best I've found so far. You're in a room with about 16 couches, and everyone in there is getting the same massage for 60 minutes. Ok, I've read reviews on the "other" Da Tang Foot Spa located in Seattle which I have not tried. This one in Edmonds I've stumbled into on a trip next door to the 99 Ranch Market. Yes, the $25/hr foot massage was tempting so I figured, why not. I was there before noon on a Monday so it was pretty quiet. One guy was snoozing on one of the massage chairs, for lack of customers. I opted for the combination foot and body massage, $29.99. Mind you, I am a frequent rub my body kind of person - so I have years and years of acting like dough and have the need to be kneaded. While the feet were soaking in nice-more than warm water which I was told had a mix of chinese medicine, the female masseuse started with a face/head and shoulder rub using a light coconut-scented oil, this was followed by a vigorous foot and leg massage (now we're talking), completed with a hot towel rub. Just when I thought she was done, she asked me to lie face down and so the kneading and rubbing continued on my upper shoulders down to my lower back. The best $30 I spent this holiday season! I almost don't want to write about this place because it's so good I just want to keep it for myself. I have tried other foot spas with varying degrees of success (everything from good to a lobster-like painful massage). However, this place is consistently excellent! I highly recommend it. Honestly, I don't know where they find these folks, but they have magical hands or something. They can usually take anyone who drops in, and there is inevitably relaxing music playing as you sink your feet into the hot foot bath. As people keep saying, it's very much a different experience than your typical Swedish massage and it is best for people who like a lot of pressure. They do check how much pressure you like and if you are ok, but it can be intense. However, provided you have no weird qualms about people touching you, this is a great massage place and you cannot beat the price. I recommend getting the whole body massage - it's totally worth every penny! I'm pretty sure that no one speaks very much English here, but it doesn't matter when your feet are being massaged and you have floated off on a little blissful cloud underneath the towels they've swaddled you in. I also don't really believe in reflexology but for some reason, getting a massage here usually clears up any minor sinus issues I am having. Weird, but - I'll take it! read more

Came here for a much needed massage. Dude, at $30 bucks for a hour it's a steal! Pros: great full body massage, you don't have to take your clothes off, and the foot massage is especially great. And price can't be beat of course. They took my same day appt right away too. This is located right next to Ranch 99. A little thrown off because the name on the outside is not exactly the same as listed on Yelp. One hour for $30 is a good deal. This was a very interesting experience. The first half was pretty calming and relaxing but when they turn you over... Be ready. Talk about painful! Some felt good and some did not. They defiantly aren't professional trained. You can tell by some of their hand placements. The one think I did not like is that at the end I felt hurried to get up and out of the chair. My body was feeling pretty relaxed and actually a bit numb and detached so I would have liked to have another 10 minutes to stay in the chair. This was my second experience I had with them. The first was about 8 months ago when a gentleman cracked my neck. It left me shaken, because I don't know if the guy had proper credentials for cracking someone's neck. Anyway, my experience today was weird. I first walk in and the employees are taking breaks which is cool. But I'm personally not okay with a dude snapping figures at an employee then pointing to me. That left me a little uncomfortable. Second no one asked what I wanted. I never want to interrupt someone when they're in the zone. That's my bad I should have spoken up. Third, massage was great, wish they spent more time on the foot service rather than full body. Apparently that's thing in Washington, they say foot massage, but it's technically full body. Four, I gave the cashier a $20 expecting change FOR A $20. When I called to voice my complaint the phone message said, "inbox full" Ha ha ha, okay. Then when they called back, I told them the issue. Their response? "Oh, she didn't know. We didn't have enough." You didn't have enough to break a $20!? Okay. Not coming back. EVER. Keep the change, you clearly need it. read more
