Last night driving back home to Dallas I walked in and found 3 employees busy cleaning floors, counter food prep areas, and replenishing the yummy looking cookie displays. Music playing just puts you in a relaxed mood. Found little cups with lids full of tasty bites of their Cherry Fudge Pecan Cake. Who knew what a delicious treat these would be. Just like the name, rich fudge-like texture, perfect size pecan pieces, and bits of cherries throughout the sample. So very good. Grabbed a regular size 1lb 14oz- 7inch Original De Luxe Fruit Cake and small Pecan Fruit Cake to take home to add to our holiday dessert table. I did get some macaroons to snack on. Also tried the chocolate Praline, looked like a piece of thin lace. Both were very tasty. Everyone was so nice and helpful. I will be back. See you soon.

I've been to many, many coffee shops through my early adult years, but the first I started going to…read moreon a frequent basis was The Foundry, located right off the downtown square of Tyler, sitting on the first floor just beneath Bethel Bible Church. Though The Foundry is ultimately connected to Bethel as their nonprofit, and many Bethel members spend time there, it misses the mark of being what feels like a "Christian coffee shop". Instead feels like a coffee shop that is driven by God, which is a very important difference to make. The Foundry is welcoming to all and is a place of peace for all. Their space is quite large, with plenty of tables of all sizes in the back, bar seating, and more. There is an outside coffee garden space that is peaceful if you happen to be around during the three weeks where Texas weather is bearable. There are also a few tables in front of the shop. There's a room that always displays local artists' work. The Foundry roasts all their own beans under Porch Culture. The team behind Porch Culture seems to have a genuine care and passion for coffee roasting, which they obviously benefits from. Certain days in the shop, you can see them roasting and experimenting in the back. I, of course, had to leave with a bag of beans to take back to Austin with me. Recently, upon my trip back home, I had a vanilla latte of theirs, which was great, plus a cinnamon roll, which was delectable. They can get pretty busy on a Sunday before a Bethel service starts, but their team usually seems on top of it most times I visit and are all very friendly and talkative. I missed The Foundry. From my time in high school when I'd go to study, or through college breaks where I used it to get out of the house and work on side projects, it was a great place to hide out, and it still is as good as I remember. Between Friends, an antique shop in Mineola Texas, sold me two coins that were way over priced…read more Caveat Emptor applies to my situation. I have only bought coins from reputable numismatic coin dealers. Never go to an Antique shop to buy coins unless you know they will buy the coins back. Otherwise, consider yourself ripped off, if they do not. A reputable dealer will buy back a coin or coins from you if you purchased coins from them. My experience is very poor at this shop and I will never return. On a scale of 1to 10, with 10 being the highest, I'll give them a minus 1. My advice to anyone seeking to buy numismatic coins is : Only buy numismatic coins from a reputable dealer who knows what they are doing and will buy back the coins you bought from them.
