    Brown sugar latte was delicious!

Christian music, kind people. Found a new stop on our journey. Lots of seats and a clean restroom.

They close earlier than it says online. But their drinks are great! The people are great. The barista's are top notch! It is a great alternative to Starbucks if you love Jesus, and if you don't, you can come to love him here at the journey coffeehouse. By Emily

The two folks working here were friendly and outgoing and the coffee was quite tasty at a price of $1.50 for a large cup and $1.00 for a small cup. With that you get one free refill, with a 50 cent charge after that. If you buy a coffee cup from them (are a regular here, perhaps), then coffee is 50 cents a cup, as per the nice young man with glasses. The coffee shop is good for groups or chillin out, so I recommend coming here!

Cool place to get lunch. Very healthy food: organic and freshly made. Conveniently located close to highway 20. Nice, relaxing settings available inside. Light, soft music. Food is inexpensive and great.

Independent owned coffee shop with nice space for groups or solo. Small menu but excellent coffee and service. Highly recommend.

Though The Foundry is ultimately connected to Bethel as their nonprofit, and many Bethel members spend time there, it misses the mark of being what feels like a "Christian coffee shop". Instead feels like a coffee shop that is driven by God, which is a very important difference to make. The Foundry is welcoming to all and is a place of peace for all. Their space is quite large, with plenty of tables of all sizes in the back, bar seating, and more. There is an outside coffee garden space that is peaceful if you happen to be around during the three weeks where Texas weather is bearable. There are also a few tables in front of the shop. There's a room that always displays local artists' work. The Foundry roasts all their own beans under Porch Culture. The team behind Porch Culture seems to have a genuine care and passion for coffee roasting, which they obviously benefits from. Certain days in the shop, you can see them roasting and experimenting in the back. I, of course, had to leave with a bag of beans to take back to Austin with me. Recently, upon my trip back home, I had a vanilla latte of theirs, which was great, plus a cinnamon roll, which was delectable. They can get pretty busy on a Sunday before a Bethel service starts, but their team usually seems on top of it most times I visit and are all very friendly and talkative. I missed The Foundry. From my time in high school when I'd go to study, or through college breaks where I used it to get out of the house and work on side projects, it was a great place to hide out, and it still is as good as I remember. RIYL: That warm coffee smell and a good co-working space.

Space to study. It was nice and clean inside. I can see parking being a little of a hassle, but overall doable with the parking garage nearby. We loved the matcha latte and can't wait to come back to try the coffee.

We went as far as Lake Athens to the Athens Boathouse Bar and Grill (which we knew was closed), to check out the location. We tooled around Athens just enjoying the Sunday. Having been to the Fisheries and the Botanical Garden before, we were looking for a different place to stop. A quiet offbeat place with food and sweet treats was what I had in mind. Callaways Coffee and Bistro popped up as a little house with adorable photos and lovely reviews and off we went. It was perfect. They have REAL FOOD here. I tried to reproduce the menu, but seriously they have pages of breakfast, salads and sandwiches. And COFFEE, of course. I had this amazing 100% Angus patty Cheeseburger - an enormous perfectly cooked patty. ($9.95) My husband ordered the Ragun Cajun, a spicy Chicken breast on ciabatta that he loved. ($9.95) They still had pie, blondies, cookies and assorted yummy sweet treats under glass. I had the Buttermilk pie with a Tender crust and totally delicious filling! ($2.75) Our server was a terrific young man; personable, helpful and a good cook! We had a good time. The bathroom is Unisex and clean. There is plenty of seating. We sat at a regular dining table, but there are plenty of tables for two or three in addition to chairs and sofas. Most parking is street side. I'm looking forward to coming back!
