I received a call from Savannah's Water Co. informing me that my water meter reflected that I was…read moreusing 84 gal. of water an hour and had used 23,000 gal. of water in the past 25 days. I immediately called Henry Plumbing Co (in Savannah, GA)., which I had trusted and used for years and always recommended to others, to see if they could find a leak. The scheduler at this company is always accommodating, and she had 2 of the company's plumbers at my house within a couple of hours. After spending around 2 hours inspecting the interior of my home, I mentioned there was standing water on the back lawn, which I had never seen previously. They said they would take a look around exterior of my home, \ after checking out the interior water sources. After their outside "inspection," the plumber-in-charge told me that they could NOT find a leak anywhere. Therefore, I had 2 options: 1. They could check for a leak, before leaving, with a "leak locator device." The cost for "this service," as I recall, was close to $500 and not guaranteed to even locate the leak. I was later told that American Leak Detector charges a flat $350 to find a water leak, with the guarantee they WILL find it. 2. I could have my 30-year-old home, which recently underwent major improvements and is in stellar condition, totally re-piped (which, I have since been informed, would likely have cost approximately $75,000-$100,000k for the re-piping and then all of the repairs in my 3.5 bathrooms, laundry, and kitchen as walls and pricey wooden floors would have to be removed. And, of course, there was no guarantee that a leak would even be found inside after all of that. Nevertheless, this was VERY obviously the route they were recommending I "choose"--even though not 1 sign of needing re-piping (listed below) was present. **Frequent plumbing leaks, Noisy pipes, Visible pipe corrosion, Discolored water, Bad-tasting or bad-smelling water, Fluctuating water temperature.** Before the plumbers left, I paid my bill of $264 for "looking for an unfound leak" and putting new flappers on 2 toilets. I feel like it was money thrown out-the-window, except for the 2 flappers. Shortly after they left, I called the gentleman who had checked my irrigation system (in my new home) the week before and shown me how to use it. After I explained the situation to him, he told me that what I had just experienced was outrageous; he would be at my house within a couple of hours, and then he WOULD find my leak and stop it. And that is just what he did. He effortlessly found the leak right outside my kitchen door in less than 5 minutes, by which time my side lawn was like a small swamp. In less than 20 minutes, he had stopped the almost month-long flow of water the two plumbers could not even locate. No wonder Henry Plumbing Co.. It is worth noting that Henry Plumbing is NOT certified by the Better Business Bureau! Once the leak was found and stopped, I sent an email to the plumbing company telling them about my leak being located and repaired in less than 30 min., along with pictures . I also mentioned that I had a faucet I needed to have installed on a mud sink in my garage--and I felt, after all the unnecessary stress I had been exposed to by their plumbers, that I thought it would be an act of goodwill to a long-time, loyal customer if they would install my faucet at no charge. Though the owner of the plumbing company was sent my email, I never received the courtesy of a reply from her. I called someone else to install my faucet, and I will never again deal with Henry Plumbing Co, of Savannah, GA and will warn others about my experience. Regardless of what Henry Plumbing may say to justify what happened, I consider their modus operandi a "scare tactic" used about what could possibly happen if I did NOT decide to contract for the re-piping of my home. Of course, I feel certain they would say they were just "doing their job" by outlining the possibilities available. I can't help but find this plumbing company's promoted motto an oxymoron: "Your Home's Best Friend."

They were prompt in coming to the initial appointment to assess the issue then they were able to have the new systems in place immediately with only a few hours of turnaround between the assessment appointment which was the next day. The process was diligent and efficient. The price for two new units were to be as expected; however, it is a necessary expense and one that I was willing to invest in for peace of mind in the future. I appreciate the after care Canady's provides as well to ensure that the customer is satisfied. They will also do a follow check in about two weeks which lets me know they care about the quality of their services and are willing to stand by their name. They did not leave a mess and everything is in working order which I am very happy.

Disappointing Experience with Canady Heating & Air…read more I am very disappointed with my experience. I was given an appointment for July 20th and rearranged my entire day to be available. While I understand that HVAC companies become extremely busy during periods of extreme heat, communication and respect for a customer's time are still essential. By approximately 1145hrs, I had not received any updates, so I reached out using the text number I was provided. I did receive a response around 1200hrs and it came from a different number simply stating that I was still on the schedule and technicians would be working until 2000hrs. The issue isn't just the long service window it's the lack of meaningful communication. By 1700hrs, I still had no estimated arrival time. If a technician were to call at 1900hrs and arrive close to 2000, it raises a legitimate question: would there really be enough time to properly inspect, diagnose, and discuss a complex HVAC issue? A thorough evaluation shouldn't feel rushed at the end of a long workday. If a company is overbooked, it's better to be honest with customers and reschedule rather than ask someone to reserve an entire day with little or no communication. Customers have jobs, families, and other responsibilities, and their time deserves the same respect as the company's schedule. I chose Canady Heating & Air because they came highly recommended, so this experience was especially disappointing. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend them. Better communication, realistic scheduling, and greater respect for customers' time would go a long way toward improving the overall service experience. Update: Immediately after this review, I received a text from the first number 1722hrs stating: "***** Canady's Heating, Air, and Plumbing: You are currently our technician's next appointment. You will receive text updates and a call or text when the technician is in route to your home. Please call the office with questions 912-756-6688 or text YES to confirm. Our working hours are: 8:00am - 8:00pm (M-F) 8:00am - 6:00pm (SAT)*****" This is a knee jerk response and there services will not be utilized.
