We rented a mid size storage unit from Huber Real Estate. Our experience with this company has been arduous. 1. The roof above our unit leaked. This wasn't apparent when we originally rented the unit until it had rained. When we went to retrieve some items from our unit, we noticed large puddles of water on the floor and many pieces of furniture and items were drenched. We aired out our unit and informed the company and they did go out and repair the leaking roof, but not before over $2000 worth of canvas art, clothing, and furniture had developed mold and mildew and were damaged beyond repair. We never had any offers or apologies from the company to reconcile our losses, and additionally; we had to spend time and money hauling our damaged property to the local dump. We should have switched companies at that point. 2. After having some of our property damaged from the leaking roof, we later received a brief email from the company stating that our storage unit had been broken into. They advised us to inspect our unit and file a police report if we noticed anything missing. When we went out to inspect, not only did it appear that we were the only unit that had been robbed, we realized that over half of the remaining contents of our unit had been stolen. We did file a police report and they required us to create an itemized list of all the things we had stolen. Our tally was over $2000.00. The thief/thieves weren't able to cut the lock, instead they just removed the entire rusty latch off the door. We took a photo of that and submitted it with our police report. Unfortunately, the company had no recourse for us financially as they do not have security cameras installed and all we could do was file a report. Even after the theft, as we were then making multiple trips to the unit to replace the lock, reorganize the unit, and wrap up things from our end, we noticed the main gate to the unit wasn't secure and we had to report it to the company to prevent anyone from being able to freely enter the area without a security code for the lock. We ended up letting the company know we wanted to stop service and they made sure to point out that our contract with them required a written 30day notice of intent to vacate. We didn't waste time, submitted the document and moved what remaining property we had left to a different storage unit company. The final request from Huber real estate was for us to sweep clean the unit and remove our lock before leaving. Overall, this was the most stressful and upsetting experience I've ever had in my life with a real estate company. Our total losses equate to around $4200.00. Did I mention??....The storage facility we use now is larger, cleaner, much more secure, and $20 less a month than Huber real estate was. 0/10 would not recommend doing business with this company. read more

I was a customer for years with them, I rented out a storage unit and needed to upgrade to a bigger one. I did just that and three months later, I get a text message saying that I haven't vacated my storage unit like they asked. I checked my mail, checked my email, checked everything and they did not contact me at all to tell me they needed me to vacate so they can renovate or move or something. I had to empty my storage unit and find a new one in 24 hours or else everything would be gone; they had already taken my payment for that month. Why would they sell me a unit without telling me in three months I would have to find a new one? Why didn't they contact me as per the contract I signed at the beginning of my rental? Because they are money grubbing law breakers. Don't do business with Huber. read more

Five years of renting a house from this company with work(repair) orders left open for 3 years. Every inspection came with a list of "mandatory" repairs to bring everything up to code with a re-visit by a contractor to make an itemized list of things to be fixed to be sent off to the owner for the approval. These never got fulfilled. The stove was haphazardly wired to the outlet in such a way that caused it to electrocute anyone who touched the side of it, this was the only problem that was actually resolved. Someone was sent in to "fix" the living room floor and they ended up sanding it down and painting it orange, painting it, not resealing it, WALL paint. Every window needed screens but they were held in with nails attached to the window frame and would subsequently fall out as soon as a gentle breeze passed through the valley and we were held responsible for the cost of replacing them. Every contractor who came through had nothing nice to say about Huber. While moving out we hired a professional cleaner to help us deep clean the entire house as we had lived in it for 5 years and we still got a bill for their (huber's) cleaning services post vacating the premises. Bedroom wall heater shorted out and they sent someone to replace it who left it uncovered with a giant hole in the wall. Bathroom fan went out and was added to the list of unfulfilled work orders to be sorted out. Regardless of working a night job the company refused to work with me and schedule repairs and inspections for Fridays even with months notice that it would be greatly appreciated if they would be understanding. Ended up getting charged for all of the basement light bulbs that were burnt out when we moved in in the first place. All of the basement windows were not secured in their frames causing leaks into the basement along with the main bedroom closet window, with the issue persisting for all five years of occupancy it was never resolved. Overall it was a place to live. but if there were better options and we didn't have a family to take care of we would have pursued them. read more

Bad management bad company for owners and for anyone they rent to. They don't speak Spanish so they avoid the Hispanic community. If I could give them negative stars I would. Honestly I couldn't think of worse company to work with than Huber Real Estate. We rented from them for a year and a half, and it was an awful experience. We submitted several work orders that were never completed but were signed off as completed online. We had a broken toilet and doorbell the entire time we lived there. One month my online payment didn't go through and instead of calling, they left an eviction notice on our door, at 5 pm on a Friday when we were home....Then on Monday we couldn't get ahold of them on the phone, and they would not return our e-mails. They charged us $300 for carpet cleaning after we moved out (what?!) and several other things that were there before like holes in the walls from previous renters. My boyfriend wrote a letter proving that we deserved more money for our refund and they sent us another $350. They will try to rip you off!! I 100% would not recommend Huber Real Estate. Don't do it. Even if you love the place. read more

Used Huber as a property management company. I was quoted a price to facilitate some repairs. I was billed for over $4,000 more than what the agreed upon price was. Not only did they take over two months to get the work done, and a tenant in, I tried to communicate my frustrations to them, and I had to follow up multiple times to even get a response, much less have my questions or concerns actually addressed. Time after time they overcharged me or proceeded with work that I had not authorized. I was forced to file a complaint with the BBB in order to get some of the charges dropped, which I'm surprised they actually did. However, they refused to negate some of the charges that were clearly outside the agreement that was signed. All in all, I had a horrible experience with Huber. I would not recommend them as a property management company to any person. read more

Description Of Work: Huber Real Estate was the Property Management company that we rented a house through Member Comments: Huber provided good service when we inquired about viewing a house for rent. They were agreeable when we completed the paperwork for the rental agreement, and we had no issues, as we paid our rent on time each month. The issues began after we gave notice to vacate. We cleaned the property, returning it to a condition equal or better than when we moved in. We had also done a few minor repairs at our own expense, as to not burdent the owner or the property manager. We understood that the $1075 deposit we had on account would be forfeited, per the terms of the aqreement, as we stayed less than one year. We also had paid a pet fee of $200, which was to be applied to any damages caused by our dogs. Approximately 10 days after turning in the keys, we received a disposition statement in the mail, demanding an additional $321, with a statement on the letter stating that the matter would be referred to the agency's attorney if payment was not received within 7 days. We called Huber to inquire about the specific details of the charges. We were informed that all inquiries would need to be submitted in writing. This lack of willingness to answer questions made by phone inquiries was horrible service. And, a threat to sue on the initial statement seemed a rather harsh approach to us. A written response was submitted to Huber. After waiting two weeks, we still had no response. Another call was made, and we were advised that the owner's assistance would be reponding. Another 10 days went by before a response was received. The response did include two receipts for charges that were being passed onto us. One charge for carpet cleaning, $130 for less than 600 square feet of carpet. The other receipt was for cleaning the residence, at $15/hr for four hours. The list from the cleaning staff, an employee of Huber, indicated the list of cleaining performed. The items on the list were, in fact, completed by us when vacating the residence. The bill from Huber to us also charged us $37.50 per hour, when the invoice provided by the cleaner indicated $15/hr. While our pets did not cause any damage to the place, the fee we paid was not applied to the carpet cleaning, or any other expense. We were later told that the fee was just for the privilege of having a pet, and would not be applied to any cleaning or other expenses. This seemed like another way for Huber to pad their profit. The response to our inquiry did not include answers to very specific questions addressed to the agency regarding responsibilities/charges to tenants and to property owners. The owner refused to provide full disclosure, and to answer direct questions about the charges being assessed to us. Not only did they retain $1275 in deposits, they charged us an additional $231 that was unjustified. Being new to the Wenatchee area, we had no information about the property management companies in the area. But after sharing our experience with co-workers, they all relayed similar stories about Huber, with a bad reputation and questionable integrity spanning two decades. Their current BBB rating is an F, indicating that they have not responded to any complaints lodged against them. Our experience indicates that Huber is motivated by greed, rather than providing the customer service they are hired to provide. Their contract is intentionally vague, as to allow them to assess unjustified costs to tenants. And we suspect that they are passing along the same charges to the owners, as they would not provide information requested outlining what the responsibilities of the tenants versus owners are. I would warn everyone to stay away from this business. read more
