Service and food was very good. Everyone went out of their way to make sure our visit was pleasant and enjoyable.

Showed up for lunch at about 5-10 minutes until noon. Six or seven tables were occupied. Every empty table was filthy. Completely ignored. Finally just seated ourselves. Waited and waited and still no one said a word to us. The next server that passed by we asked if we could get some menus, to which she replied "as long as you know it'll be at least an hour before you see any food." I LOVE this place! huddle house is better than Ihop or denny's! (in my opinion) we're from California and went to alabama to visit my in laws. hubby was looking for a breakfast spot and came home with thus delightfully looking breakfast. it's called southern smothered biscuit platter with bacon and add some sausage. it's smothered with bacon and gravy and no omg I run out of words to describe how good it is. all I know is that we kept coming back . even their waffles is nicely cooked. crispy on the outside and soft on the inside . sweet buttermilk perfection! and the service is great too! there super nice ! I'm surprised there hasn't been any reviews for this place. but hopefully there will be more. it's worth it! read more

Never go there and eat the worse place you can even go,the food is really bad the service is terrible the manager is rude I order bacon and it was over cooked and I ask to replace it and the manager got really rude and they refused to replace it the eggs are over cooked and they burnt my toast. read more

Years ago, this Huddle House was a regional winner of the corporate "Best of the Best" competition. Since those days, the place has gone downhill. The waitresses on first shift know what's up and act accordingly. They are some of the best in the business and can hustle to earn a tip. They also don't ask pointless questions--they see your empty coffee cup sitting at the edge of the table, they fill it without asking you if you need more; they just do it, they're on the ball, they're using their brains to meet customer needs. If you go in after the breakfast and lunch rush, be prepared for a more surly and slovenly approach to customer satisfaction. Waitresses on later shifts will sit at your table (not proper etiquette) when taking an order. They will be smart-mouthed and try to give you orders about how to request a refill on coffee or try to engage in pointless conversation when you're trying to read (that's big in a college town like Jacksonville--people here read and do homework and don't need to be bothered by idle chit-chat or pointless questions). Worst of all, shift-leaders on second and third shifts are at fault. The gossip never ends. You can hear the loud shrill voices screeching about the waitresses and managers on first across the store. They talk crap about customers. Then you get to hear them whine about how they're not getting tipped well enough. They will also make it a point to play games with customers who are trying to work by deliberately interrupting to ask pointless questions. Some of them even ask personal questions that are not appropriate. They don't treat each other with basic human respect and certainly don't treat their customers any better. I guess the staff on second and third shift think that their poor attitudes and gossip magically generate the money they take home. Unfortunately for the store, that's not the case--the money that comes into the store comes from customers. It would be nice if the owner and senior management reminded the surly girls who whine and gossip of that one simple fact. My cash = Your paycheck. read more

Dined in the last time, the restaurant was dirty. The tables, and floor didn't look like they had been cleaned in awhile.

Went in this morning to order and the frail looking Caucasian woman was the server no name tag. With one person an African American being cashed out I waiting to place my order then a Caucasian older gentleman walked up to pay keep in mind I had already been waiting to place my order. I held on to see if she was going to do exactly what I thought and that is cash the gentleman out and continue to keep me waiting I motioned her and said hey I was waiting she said"Well he'd already been sitting eating" which means what that I'm on the back burner. She also exclaimed "Can't you just wait" no way I was pass pissed the nerve of her. Never will I spend any money where I am not valued as a customer given the utmost respect. read more

When my grandfather and I occasionally come here, it's almost always satisfactory, but for some reason, this visit wasn't very pleasant. It was slightly laughable to me, to be honest... We walked in around 11:30 PM and it was at least 10-15 minutes before the waitress took our order or at least acknowledged us. There were only maybe three other people here (at the most) and the employees were having all kinds of chit-chat and didn't really welcome us either. When our waitress came to our table, she asked us what we wanted to eat, but didn't ask what we wanted to drink. I asked her if I could choose a side to go with my HuddleBurger with bacon, and she didn't know if sides even came with it, and I could tell she didn't know the available sides by heart either. I requested a peach flavoring-infused Mtn. Dew (they have flavoring for the milkshakes I assume, but I like having them mixed in my soda), and she said they didn't have any of that. I knew it (along with other flavored syrup bottles) was behind the counter and showed her they did have it, so she remade my soda. I just think that if you're an employee for a restaurant, you should at least know the menu and other options in the restaurant well enough to be able to tell a customer what they want to know right away. Soon after our order was taken, my grandfather quietly told me "we made a mistake tonight". The waiting time for our order was decent. When my HuddleBurger with bacon arrived, the majority of its condiments were put on the side even though I only asked her to go light on the tomatoes and lettuce. I also ordered a side salad and I never got it until I told her about it, and by that time we were almost finished with our food. The waitress was kind, but I think she must've been really new. I'm not saying this place is bad by any means, because the food has always been good, but I think it was just this employee in particular that made this visit interestingly different. I'm not mentioning names but you'll be able to tell who I'm talking about if you get her as your waitress. I should also mention that the inside of this Huddle House location was mostly clean, and the temperature was comfortable. Despite tonight's disappointing visit, I will continue to come here since the past 10 or so visits since early-2017 have been pleasant, but I hope my next visit will turn out better. read more

As soon as I opened the door to walk in I was greeted by the fresh smell of cigarette smoke being blown near my face. The whole restaurant was hazy and smelt like a smoke shake. I don't know how anyone could enjoy their food in this setting. read more

We've lived all over the country. Eat out ALOT. Now retired here. This Huddle House is close and convenient, with good parking. THE FOOD would be 4STARS, but this Huddle House allows smoking. I cannot eat where there is white smoke hanging everywhere, it is clearly not healthy. We drive on to Piedmont and eat at that Huddle House at least five times a month. No smoke there. read more
