Somewhat helpful getting vehicle repaired after hitting a deer. Looks good, but service, communication, and timeliness were lacking.

I recently visited Bill Black Chevrolet to look at a used 2018 Toyota Tundra Platinum, and I want…read moreto share an honest and professional review of my experience. First, I'll say the truck itself looked great both inside and out. The dealership had it cleaned up very well, and overall it made a strong first impression. I also appreciated that the staff was polite and initially willing to work with me on pricing, which I respect. However, while inspecting the truck more closely, I noticed what appeared to be a leak underneath--specifically around the rear main seal area, with fluid reaching the control arm. I brought this to the attention of both the salesman and the manager. At first, there was some hesitation, and I was encouraged to focus on the deal itself, with mention of recent work done on the truck such as new brakes, resurfaced rotors, a tire rotation, and an oil and filter change. After asking if their mechanic could take another look just to be sure nothing was missed, they eventually agreed to put the truck up for inspection. The mechanic did confirm that there was in fact a rear main seal leak. At that point, I was hoping the dealership would either address the issue or be willing to adjust the price accordingly. Unfortunately, the manager did not view it as a major concern and chose not to move on the price or repair the issue. That part was disappointing, especially considering this is not a minor fix and could become a costly repair for the next owner. My concern is that a future buyer may not notice this issue, especially if they don't take the time to inspect underneath the vehicle like I did. I believe transparency is extremely important when selling used vehicles, particularly at this price point. For a truck priced around $34,000 and being sold without a warranty, I wasn't comfortable taking the risk of a major repair shortly after purchase. I was later contacted about the option to purchase an extended warranty for an additional $4,000, but that was outside of my budget. Overall, I was genuinely disappointed because this was a truck I really wanted. I went in hoping to make a deal, but ultimately had to walk away due to concerns about the issue and how it was handled. I do appreciate the time the staff spent with me, but I hope the dealership places more emphasis on transparency and addressing known mechanical concerns for future customers.
