So I've been a patient here for well over 10 years now. Dr. Joanna Pruzon for the first ten years. And now that she is moving on to be closer to family, will be looked after by Dr. Grace Woo. The location is what drew me in many years ago. With recommendations from family and that easy access by public transportation. Just have to get off at Journal Square and walk a few blocks. I tend to get styes on both eyes ( lower lids ) that needs looking after. Through the years, it's really just been a maintenance thing for me. Along with my annual exam in the Fall. Staff here has always been helpful, especially with my crazy work schedule. Wait times can be hit or miss at this office. I'll always try for a AM appointment, that seems to work better than those afternoon visits. My last time here, I arrived very early and they were able to fit me in before my scheduled time. Extremely Disappointing Experience with Hudson Eye Physicians & Surgeons - Jersey City We had a very poor experience with Hudson Eye Physicians & Surgeons over two visits for my wife's dry eye issue. At the first appointment, the nurse conducted most of the eye exam, and Dr. Roll spent barely two minutes with us before prescribing a steroid medication. Concerned about the potential risks, we chose not to use the medication--and surprisingly, my wife's dry eye symptoms resolved naturally without any treatment. Despite this, we returned for the scheduled follow-up appointment. Once again, the nurse did the exam, and the experience was exactly the same--no improvement in care, no meaningful consultation, and no added value. In our opinion, Dr. Roll appeared inexperienced and disengaged. Honestly, it felt like both visits were a waste of time and money. The nurse was more thorough and helpful than the doctor herself, which says a lot. Overall, it gave the impression that the clinic is more focused on billing than on patient care. As for the charges -- they were outrageous: First Visit: $259 billed $121 out-of-pocket after insurance Follow-Up Visit: $879 billed $306 out-of-pocket after insurance For such minimal interaction and lack of quality care, these charges are completely unreasonable. There was absolutely no value in either visit. I strongly urge others to avoid Hudson Eye Physicians & Surgeons, especially if you're looking for experienced, professional, and compassionate eye care. read more

In and out. Easy peasy. I have been going to the eye doctor since I was a preteen and this is about as good as the others. The one in JC is for doctor lee. She did a good job only had to wait 15 minutes for the appointment. I was in and out in about an 1 hour total. The hardest part was finding parking. She explained things and gave me my prescriptions as soon as she was done. I did all the paper work online beforehand so there was nothing left when I got to the day. They took my insurance and she even noted that I had come last year and checked for my moms eye problem cause it could be hereditary. I went on Friday at lunch. Seriously better than any other one that I have been to in JC so I will be repeating. read more

I had a deeply unsettling and discriminatory experience at Hudson Eye Physicians & Surgeons during my appointment with Dr. Lee on Thursday, 10/10/2024, at 1:10 PM. I arrived early, hoping for a smooth visit, but was immediately met with hostility at the reception desk. The receptionist didn't acknowledge my greeting, and before I could even finish explaining that I had an appointment, she abruptly and rudely cut me off, saying, "Just put your name down, and when it's your turn, we'll call you." The lack of basic courtesy was jarring. After waiting for some time, I thought I'd be proactive and asked, politely, if I could fill out any paperwork while waiting, thinking it might save time. Her response, however, was just as dismissive. She repeated, "Sir, when it's your turn, we'll call you," in a tone that was not only unhelpful but also condescending. When I gently asked how long the wait might be, her behavior became increasingly rude and confrontational. In an effort to de-escalate the situation, I calmly asked her to speak to me with more respect. Instead of correcting her behavior, she responded with a dismissive, almost mocking tone, saying she was pointing at the computer, not at me. Then, in what felt like a deliberate act of discrimination, she added, "I don't understand your accent." This comment was deeply offensive. I had been speaking clearly, and it became apparent that this was not just about rudeness, but about something more troubling--an attempt to undermine and belittle me because of my background. At that point, I knew I couldn't tolerate such disrespect any longer. I told her, firmly but politely, that I wouldn't stand for such behavior and asked her to cancel my appointment. Her response was to loudly and sarcastically say, "Have a good day," in a manner that only intensified the disrespect I had already felt. This experience left me deeply disappointed, not only because of the lack of professionalism but also because of the discriminatory undertones in the way I was treated. No patient should have to endure such behavior, especially in a healthcare setting where respect and empathy should be the foundation of every interaction. While I didn't want to cause a scene, I feel it's important to voice my concerns so that this kind of treatment doesn't happen to others. read more

FYI - We are reporting this organization to the Better Business Bureau for wrong billing practices and then using collection agency and then even when told that billing was their mistake - putting it on the credit. We are going to go all the way through the legal system etc as such businesses are a menace to the society are completely exposed. My kids and wife have been going to this place for years for routing eye exam. Little did we know that for years they had been using the wrong billing system- for routing eye care, they had been billing our medical company instead. And when we pointed out the problem to their front desk - they claimed they dont work with their billing system. And when we spoke to the billing system, they feigned ignorance and referred to collection. We explained to collection who verfiied that we had proper insurance and that it was their billing group who was making te mistake. They tried submitting the info to the right insurance and because they had to do it within a specific time frame after the visit, they again started to make it our problem. We told them clearly it was their mistake. And they opted to put collection on the credit report to ensure that customer feels the pain. Such businesses's billing system are menace to the society and should nt be allowed to function as is, especially if they make their mistakes somebody else's. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. They "accommodated" me since I thought I had an eye infection. 2.5 hours later still here. Had to reschedule my entire work day and other obligations. Please don't give out fake "appointments" if they mean nothing. Additionally after waiting for so long the doc spent all of 4 mins with me without once explaining what he was doing. Also please notify patients that if you dilate them it will cost you another hour in waiting past getting seen. At least then us patients can plan accordingly. I had an appointment with Dr. Woo and she was very kind and a great listener as was the rest of the staff but unfortunately when I wasn't brought back till 40 minutes after my appointment I will not be returning. Also update; I called 5 days later to order contacts and they only accept one type of insurance for contacts. Why is my insurance accepted for an exam but not for contacts? Had a very bad experience with a receptionist at my visit today. No names but her name is Nicole. Very rude. Very just plain nasty. I have been going to Dr. CINNOTTI. for 21 years everybody has always been nice but she is a complete bitch she thinks she is more important than the doctor . you are a medical receptionist don t talk down to me you do not know me. I had a very unsettling experience at the Millburn location. The person giving me my exam clearly didn't know what she was doing. She had me wear my glasses during the vision test (aka, is 1 better... or 2?), and when the doctor came in he berated her. The doctor himself was rude. I could deal with that, fine. I was then given some trial contacts, and they charged me for them! I have NEVER paid for trails before. The lenses immediately irritated my eyes, and continued to do so. I called a number of times and never got through to anyone. I left messages that were never returned. So i went to a different eye doctor. The new doctor told me that these contacts had damaged my eyelids, and caused irreversible damage to my eyes. Had I continued with those lenses, I was going to eventually go blind. BLIND! How could a visit to the eye doctor result in blindness?? read more

I usually see Dr Greenfield, but since he retired I see Dr Brahma. He is very knowledgeable and takes his time explaining every thing that you need to know, also he doesn't rush you out of the office and answers all your questions. Had a very bad experience with a receptionist at my visit. She charged on my health insurance instead of VSP. Health insurance gave more money then VSP. I called twice them but no callback or reply. When I visited second schedule one, she really very rude. Ive been there about 3 or 4 times with same problem and all they do is pitch glasses. Parking is 15 bucks...didn't even validate it. I have a problem with my left tear duct and I get the same eye exam over and over and the same cheap glasses and the problem continues. I went there with an infection and all they were interested in was the exam and the glasses. I know I need glasses but the problem with my eye still persists to the point where its constantly infected. Get your glasses at Americas Best, btw. Terrible service. I literally walked out of there and Im sure they will charge my insurance for an exam I didnt even need. Not Good? They suck. Plan on sitting there for at least 2-3 hrs. You spend more time with the tech asking you questions that are irrelevant. Any Ive been there the dr looks, poke and gives me these bullshit eyedrops that last me all of what 2 days. I received a voicemail to call the office and change my appointment in January. I called the office today, waiting on hold and made to caller number 1. Someone picked up, asked me to hold and the call was dropped. I called back, pushed back to to caller 2, made it to caller 1 and AGAIN the call was dropped. Now I called back for the THIRD TIME, and guess what??? I'm even further behind cand now caller no. 3. Total wait time for these 3 calls is 30 mins and counting as we speak. UNACCEPTABLE AND RIDICULOUS!! Get your $hit together or get new staff!!! Finally someone picked up the line and what do you know, i was still caller no. 3. How'd that happen? The receptionist was kind. Rescheduling took less than 3 minutes. Why i waited more than 30 mins for a 3 minute call tells me there is something wrong with your matrix. FIX IT! read more

I woke up in the middle of the night concerned because there were clear bubbles on the inside of my eyelid. I called the location the following day and they were able to squeeze me in which was great. They set me up with Dr. Constand who is a cornea specialist. I was advised by the doctor that I had giant papillary conjunctivitis and was immediately placed on eye drops. What was strange was that I had just visited am optometrist a few days prior and they did not make note of it. Also, what I had in my eye did not look like GPC images online. I went back to my optometrist and he advised that I had lymphatic cysts and that it was not GPC. Furthermore, he advised that GPC is supposed to be on the upper eyelid. I'm not sure why I was diagnosed incorrectly by Dr. Constand and would advise to do your research. read more

I came to these doctors because of an emergency as my regular eye doctor didn't care or have time for me as his practice was booming. Call them here and got a same day appointment for my scratched eye. Came in, saw the doc and everything was good and have been coming back since. They treat you right, talks to you not down at you. I've been coming here for over 20years. It definitely has declined over the years. They overbook, waiting at least 1.5hrs in total for a 5 min eye exam. The staff at the desk are rude and dismissive. Dr. Walsman was awesome! The appointment was really quick and he didn't give me a lot of useless talks. He was straight to the point and was helpful. I'm giving them 3 stars just because I had to wait a bit longer because the staff messed up the appointment I made via phone. Then was moved to a different time the day I came in. Another problem I had was they called me only to find out that they didn't properly record the payment I made. It would have been a big trouble. Staff were very nice to me and then Dr Greenstein explained everything very clearly and asked me to set another appointment for contact lens fitting.( I went there for regular eye checkup and contact lens) Staff were awesome and the doctor too. I have never been treated so poorly from an office. I go to the office in Millburn. The receptionist are rude and uncaring. I have been going to the office for 10 years and had an issue with the changing of my insurance to Cobra. The girl behind the desk said your insurance is "no good" and this needs to be a full pay. I got on the phone with the insurance company who said they didn;t receive the paper work but the office could delay the billing until tomorrow. She refused and said the dr. said we had to pay in full. I think after 10 years to treat someone like this is unacceptable. I will never return to Hudson Eye. read more

I called Hudson Eye Physicians and Surgeons June 29 and made a 10 AM appointment for July 21 with Dr. Cinotti, on a recommendation from a trusted friend. A day before the scheduled appointment I received a recorded telephone message confirming my appointment but with a different doctor. I called the office to explain the apparent error, the person (did not get her name) I spoke to said she did not understand what happened but said I could see dr. Cinotti, but at 2:30 the same day. I was disappointed I lost my scheduled 10 am but at least I would see the doctor I wanted to, right ?! I got to office at 2 pm, they looked up my name and I was told I had an appointment at 2:30 but again with the original/ wrong doctor! I explained, now quite irritated, all the above and was told I could see Dr. Cinotti but at 3:20 pm ! All of my arguing/ explaining availed nothing. I finally asked for my picture ID and benefit card back, told them to cancel this and any other future appointments and left the office. There was no apology by the staff, they just let me walk out the door. I was reading other reviews for this office and the complaints are similar. I'm sure Dr. Cinotti and the others there are good doctors but you need to teach the staff how to do their job and better customer service. read more

I was very happy to find Dr. Walsman and secure an appointment on short notice. Called on a Thursday and got an appointment on Saturday, and found the office was well-organized, well-equipped, and very comfortable. Dr. Walsman is a good listener, very patient in explaining things, and very efficient, answering all my questions & quickly setting up a prescription for me at my local pharmacy in a matter of a couple minutes. I'm happy they take my Health Republic NJ insurance and are located so close to Journal Square. read more

Dr. Rai is very good, but I am so frustrated with their timings. This is the first clinic I have seen which doesn't open on any Saturdays nor they are open till extended hours during weekdays. Every time I have an appointment either I have to take a day or half a day off. Also it takes 3-4 phone calls every time I have any issue/concern. I found Hudson Eye on Yelp after I was dissatisfied with my former eye doctor. They are tough to get an appointment with, but you soon find out why, it's becasue they are that good. Be prepared to spend some time there because the eye exam is that comprehensive. I went to them for a routine eye exam and later, for an eye problem which needed minor laser surgery. They handled the referral and set up an appointment with the eye surgeon (who was closed that day). They also guided me through what my insurance covered. (My medical covered the exam, not my separate eye covered, who would have known?) They truly go the extra mile for their patients. I very highly recommend them. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Constad for approximately 15 years. I suffer from keratoconus . Dr. Constad is a top notch physician and surgeon. I have seen previous reviews disparaging the office staff. I have always been treated with dignity and respect by them. Charlene (Charley), in particular, is wonderful. Out of all the physicians and surgeons I have seen , I would bestow upon Dr. Constad the highest recommendation. read more

The receptionists need some training on how to treat the patients and not yell at them. I had an appointment but still was made to wait for more than an hour. On top of it when I pointed out they were letting people who came after me inside, the receptionist had the nerve to yell at me and was seen flirting with a medical representative to avoid my questions. This place is losing its name due to such arrogant, ignorant and trashy folks who control appointments and think they run the place! Dr.Constad didn't diagnose the sty which was bothering my right eye. So I took another appointment with Dr. Pruzon who is very receptive of patients symptoms and prescribing appropriate medicine. They did not send the reports to my doctor's office for 2 weeks. I had to call them several times and their excuse was that the letter goes out in 30 days. That is so incorrect if your doctor is waiting to put you on a medicine based on the eye examination results. Doctors are fine but the whole management sucks. I had my eyes checked up with Dr Donald Cinotti last month. He gave me a contact lens to try for a month. It started feeling discomforting so I called doctor's office to explaining the urgency of the situation. they said technician will call me. It has been three weeks and I haven't heard back from them. I have tried to call the several times but every time i had to wait hours. each time staff member takes my information and puts phone on hold then they hang up. no bother to call back.
