As per other people's reviews, our experience has been horrible with LORI (how the hell is she…read morekeeping a job??). Every time we've tried to call, no one has answered. We've called 5-6 times in a day and never gotten anyone to answer. We decided to just drive up and visit one day last month (July 2025) and we got to see an apartment that day. We loved the complex and the apartment, and we were told the apartment floor plan we were interested in would be available at the end of october for our november move in date. Great. We decided to go ahead and apply for the apartment this past week (8/22/25), at which point we spoke to Lori (via email because of course, we couldn't reach anyone via phone)- she was very short and unhelpful with finding the application, but confirmed that the floor plan we wanted was available on 11/3/25. I have email from her saying that the exact plan was available the day that we wanted, and when I went to the website, that plan was available for the day she said- everything checked out. Fast forward to 8/26, when I get an email that our application has been approved- BUT now Lori says that the plan we specifically applied for and submitted a $200 holding fee for, is not available and she offered us 2 other non-comparable options.... no apology for having us apply for an apartment that apparently wasn't available, no explanation of how it suddenly became unavailable, just- here's these other two that you can choose from. I responded and told her we wouldn't take either of those floor plans, and would consider going to a 3 instead of 2 bedroom if she could give us a price on that for us to consider. She hasn't gotten back to me and now i fear she won't, from these other reviews. We have decided definitively, regardless of what is available, that we do NOT want to live in this community and have found infinitely preferable options in the area. If I do not receive my $200 holding fee after all this bullshit, I'll be getting my attorney brother involved.

While this place was decent to live at, moving out was horrible. Our lease had ended in August and…read morewe were supposed to close on our house that kept getting pushed back due to the sellers. Lori Oliveri was kind enough to tell us not to pay the rent-to-rent rate and to continue paying what we were previously paying and that after moving out, if the inspection went well, we would be getting our security deposit back. Well that was a lie. Until the end of September when we moved out, she had told us multiple times to not pay the rent-to-rent. After not receiving our security deposit check, my husband had went to the office multiple times to ask where our check was and her response was always 'it's in the 'mail' or 'come back here to pick it up'. Instead of receiving our security deposit, we got a letter in the mail for collections. We've never had any issues nor caused any problem. We paid our rent in full every month and kept to ourselves. They also amended our lease saying we had to pay 5$ per month for parking, which we didn't sign for but was charged anyway. I've emailed the property manager who refuses to work with us and instead of doing the right thing, they just want money. If you move in here, never trust a word they say, and Lori is a horrible person. If we had known that they wouldn't have worked with us, then we would have made other arrangements to move out while waiting for closing. Instead we were stupid enough to believe her and practically be told 'sucks for you', here's a collections letter.

The following is an exchange I had with presumably the owner/founder of this enterprise - Scott…read moreTillett. It exemplifies the degradation in society at all levels, companies, businesses, corporations, media, culture. What used to be dignified civil society has become a sewer mass of immorality and degradation where the debased and degraded is lauded as the accepted cultural norm. Yes the facilities of this enterprise are just fine - new, "modern" in all its expected respects, but I was speaking of something far greater than all of that. Do not simply accept and go along with what this present culture has become; because it's now the world around you does not mean you cannot stand up and speak out against it. Invariably you'll get the immature and unprofessional response below - in my day businesses would have apologized, perhaps tried to explain in a more conciliatory matter to the prospective patron that sometimes communiques can become more casual when people are feeling more comfortable (although the regular outgoing company newsletter should not and never be) and to apologize for the laxity. In this case, not only was there no such apology, the result is for the person speaking to be ostensibly "removed" from the sphere of discussion, "cancelled" if you will out of the recipient's domain; obviously it was just your particular sensibility that was offended, no real violation of cultural norms had occurred so we don't need to even take you seriously or offer you the civilized respect of a discussion about it. My point is, the more you don't speak out and allow garbage, the more garbage you'll find around you, and it is all around us now, no matter how new and shiny the surface. ---------------------------------------------- Me: Hello could you please refrain from including curse words or ostensibly covered up curse words in your newsletters, e.g., "Perfect for folks who have a short-term project and just need a private space to get $h!t done." Maybe just one generation ago, that would be unheard of in a professional communication sent out by a seemingly professional organization, but the worst forms of degradation are happening in every from of media, corporations and advertising; this is just another symptom and evidence. I really don't want to be bombarded with curse words first thing in the morning when I open up a company information newsletter. Thank you. Owner: Apologies to have offended you, Anita. We will remove you from our email list. Best, Scott

We lived in Chelsea Ridge apartments for seven years and just moved out, so at this point, I could…read moreprobably write a book about our experience. The first five years we lived there, we were very happy. We always felt the price was fair. The grounds are kept neat. Nice neighbors. It was a friendly, generally safe neighborhood. We felt like we could've lived there forever. We really did not start to absolutely hate it there until after the pandemic. Before continuing, I want to point out that we never ONCE were late with our rent or had an issues there. We were really great, respectful tenants. The last two years, we started having a lot of major maintenance issues. Our master bedroom would flood almost every single time it rained a lot. Our carpets in the whole house had become so old and worn out (they were not new when we moved in) that they were bubbling up really bad to the point you would trip on it sometimes, the seams were showing all over, and there were areas of the carpet that literally had no carpet fibers left on it. The paint on the ceilings was peeling, probably from the many instances where water would run through our bathroom ceiling. Our entire bathroom vanity was peeling, we assume from the poor ventilation in the bathroom (keep in mind we showered with a fan on, and with the door open). Our back sliding door never really opened and closed well and the handle would constantly fall off. The oven was literally rusting on the outside. They were always tons and tons of bugs in our apartment, assuming from the missing bricks on the outside of the building. The fridge would often have issues with leaking water all over the floor. We even had one instance where we came home to literal sewage flowing out of our toilet, and into our hallway carpet. The overflow was so deep that our bathroom door was warped from being wet and needed to be replaced. They did try to sanitize everything as best they could, but considering this was literally other people's waste and sewage in our home, it felt like a bit of a biohazard as there's no real way to properly sanitize porous grout and wood cabinets and carpeting. With all of this happening over the last fews years, it felt like a disgusting slap in the face to receive an 11% rent increase after COVID. Don't be surprised when they raise your rent every single year. It used to be $30 or $40 a year raise, which we always felt was reasonable, but the last two years it was much much more. It just became far too expensive for the quality of living there. We knew we could live somewhere much nicer for the same price. We are now in a townhome that nearly double the size, with an extra bathroom, bedroom, and a washer/dryer in unit and barely paying more than we were at Chelsea. While we had been so happy there for so many years, it became quite insulting to continue living in a place that had the nerve to continually raise our rent, while we were living in garbage conditions. By the end of the seven years, I was honestly embarrassed to have people over to my house. It felt like we were living in a slum, meanwhile my rent was higher than my friends mortgage payments. I will say, the maintenance crew at Chelsea Ridge is top notch and so under appreciated. They were always so quick to respond to issues to the best of their ability. Very friendly and always did a good job. The office staff was lovely as well. I absolutely got the sense that the upper management really holds these people back from doing their jobs the way they should be done because of money (DHM doesn't want to spend money to actually repair anything, just bandage them up until the next person comes). We will definitely be missing the staff there and it's literally the ONLY thing I'm sad to leave behind a Chelsea Ridge. I totally get that times are tough right now with rentals and you might be feeling desperate to find a home. If you end up renting in Chelsea Ridge, just be prepared for the possibility of a lot of maintenance issues and excessively high rent increases each year
