Made the usual water stop after getting through security here. They now have a self service kiosk which was a pleasant surprise. Unfortunately it was glitchy but it did work in the end.

Located adjacent to San Jose Joe's, this small "news stand" is set up for travelers to pick up a good book or some snacks for their flight. Items are on the pricy side (duh, it's the airport) but you could pick up a bottle of water for about $5.50. They also sell gadgets for your electronics like chargers and headphones. Aside from books, there are newspapers, magazines, and cookbooks to choose from. I would only advise purchasing from here if it's an absolute dire need. You can get the same items once you leave the airport for much more reasonable prices.

For some reason, my bf is always stopping at this specific one when we're at the airport. It's like he gets gravitated to this location. Per usual, we just get gum and a water bottle.

hands that fall off their watches when you replace the battery

So we were at the SJC airport getting ready to head back home after a Labor Day Weekend trip and my 15 year old comes to me with a watch he bought with his own birthday money. As you can imagine, he was very excited about his purchase from Hudson News. To be specific, it's the store in Terminal B. And the date was Tuesday, September 4, 2018. I noticed looking at this watch that the hands were not moving at all, so I told him that we should go and swap for a watch that's running. When we walked back to the display area, I noticed that none of the watches were running. "Okay, no big deal. We will just get home and I'll get a battery/activate the battery" or whatever. Little did I know what should have been a routine purchase with a small upgrade ended up being a complete bazaar in Bangkok style ripoff. First, the back would not come off of this watch until I took it to three jewelers and finally had one of them use a needle nosed vice grip to remove the back! I finally bought a replacement battery this morning and when I went to put the battery in - turned the watch over only to find the hands had fallen off the face of the watch!! TOTAL RIPOFF. Do not buy any merchandise from this store! And since we don't live in San Jose, our chances of getting any kind of a refund are near zero.

This Hudson News is located in Terminal A of San Jose International Airport, near Gate 11. All of the traditional and normal Hudson News convenience store goodness is available here: cold bottled water and soda, newspapers, magazines, snacks, toiletries, and tourist knick-knacks. Picked up my normal compliment of bottled water for the flight to Denver. This is one of the larger Hudson News locations I've seen - most are smaller!

Reading materials, knick knacks, and snacks. Bottled water isnt cheap but then you cant bring it in can you?

Inspiring reading! Great books that are actually good for you!

San Jose Magazine is nothing more than a yuppified advertisement for real estate agents and home…read morelistings. It seems I always see it in doctor's offices, dentist offices and in the lobby of hotels but nowhere else. The articles are generally short, dull and uninteresting about people and things that I have no ability to care about. A glossy cover and shiny, expensive photographs hide a dust bowl of information. No more wasting of time reading this fancy-looking publication for me no matter how bored I get waiting for my appointment to come. It will probably go belly-up soon anyway as it is hard to keep any local magazine going that doesn't allow 20 pages of escort ads in the back a la metro. San Jose is a great place to live and should just have something better. Don't cha think?

I grew up reading magazines in offices of all types. I still spend far too much on magazines…read more(though less than Linda does for the September issues of all the fashion rags) and I read them all the time. When I was living in Boston, my Mom bought me a subscription to Boston Magazine (a great mag) and to San Jose Magazine. Sadly, it's never been anywhere near as compelling. The problem isn't that San Jose Magazine isn't readable, the articles are OK, the photos tend to be really nice, and they tend to give at least some coverage to all the events that I give a care about. On the other hand, it's also a crappy selection of articles that hardly covers the way we in SJ live and work. It's targeted to a more upscale crowd, but that's not SJ and it's not what's interesting about the city. The presentation is pretty, but the content is not what it should be.

I stopped by to look for music CD and manga. The store has a dedicated section for movies, music and games in the front of the store. It's a huge size bookstore spreading different sections of categories, magazines, and a kids area. There is a coffee station in the center and tables where you can read and work as it's pretty quiet inside. The manga section is big and the magazines as well. There were quite a bit of KPop magazines amongst others. You'll find quite a few things you didn't think of when you come across cute and unique accessories. If you want to get out of the outside and enjoy a quiet atmosphere, it's Barnes & Noble.

Fortunately, it's a spacious store with room for everyone. It's also nice that there is a dedicated parking lot in the back, again with enough parking for everyone. I went there looking for a specific Miffy keychain, but the Miffy goods were picked over pretty good and they didn't have it. Ended up leaving with two books, a journal, two chocolate bars, a reusable shopping bag, and a Miffy blind box. It was a pretty good shopping spree.
