I love it here! I've been using the pharmacy AND the actual store my whole life and it's gotten better and better. I appreciate the small community vibe you get when you walk in; cute little trinkets for memories (even if you live here they're still so cute!), everyone says "hi", and the pharmacy staff in the back are helpful. The only down fall, and the only reason I gave them a 4, they never have my prescription set to auto fill, and they continue to say it's "set on that option" but it fails every time. So, it's not that big of a deal and i still highly recommend to at least go inside and check out the cute jewelry and fun little gifts they have!! read more

I bought some expensive lice treatment shampoo on a Saturday and on the following Friday tried to return the extra 2 unused, untampered with bottles I didn't end up using with my receipt in hand. I was told that I would only receive a store credit even with my receipt. Apparently in the back of the store on the pharmacy counter the policy is posted but not on the front counter where I actually purchased the items. The policy is ridiculous and the manager tried to "comfort" me by telling me it's ok because I can buy anything in the store with my new gift card, which is no consolation to me. I asked the manager why they have such a policy and she had no answer for me. It's not just a bad policy but it's bad business to not allow cash refunds when unused items with a receipt are brought back within a timely matter. Unfortunately I will not be shopping at the Boulder creek pharmacy any longer due to this silly policy and their inability to practice fair business. UPDATE: so a few weeks later I go to use my gift card, so my 27 dollars isn't all a complete loss,I buy a birthday gift and am asked if I'd like it wrapped so gladly I say yes. (free gift wrapping is one of the best things about this place) all I can say is my little kid could do a better job at wrapping than the grown woman at the front desk did. read more

Please note: this is a review of the pharmacy, not the entire store. I want to support my local pharmacy, but something happened today that is inexcusable. For several months now, I've not received the entire count of the pills I'm supposed to receive. However, I bucked up my courage today and said I wanted to count the pills before buying them, and was provided a plastic dish to count them. The sales clerk was very kind and helpful, but when the head pharmacist heard that I was counting pills, he asked me why. When I told him that last time I had 12 pills missing, he said that the counting device they use is 99.9% accurate. I counted the pills and there were only 56 out of 60. He took them from me and recounted them and found the same thing. He then said to me in front of everyone that he had counted my pills himself this morning, and that there were 60 when he counted them. I asked what he meant, and he said 'I'm asking you what you mean.' I said, I only want the 60 pills I pay for each month. He replied, 'do you think you might have put 4 into your pocket?' At that point, I became frustrated and began emptying my pockets in front of them. He said, 'don't worry, I'll comp you four extra pills.' I've never done something like this before, and I don't intend to go back. I only hope that this is the only incident that has happened, and that this gentleman has not kept back pills of someone who desperately needed the entire amount they paid for. read more

We love the store itself. Super friendly staff. Pharmacy technicians are very friendly and always strive to fill prescriptions as quick as they can while you wait. However, the pharmacist is awful. Incredibly rude on a consistent basis. He publicly berated me and humiliated me about supposedly trying to pick up medications early. It's a unique store; beyond cosmetics and the par-none pharmacy they stock inexpensive but classic toys, local well-made clothing and eye-catching but not wallet-robbing jewelry. Sundries as well, and a classic candy selection! Balloons, they do those too. Seasonal items for people who don't ordinarily like seasonal items. Local books. Great staff. They are great! Recently switched my prescriptions from Longs (I personally boycott CVS) and they told me things Longs never did! The pharmacists are super helpful about all kinds of ailments. They have a good selection of household stuff, gifts, office supplies etc. I get all birthday presents their for kids under 12 or so. Great selection of cool toys & games for a very reasonable price. What a great small-town pharmacy we have! I love that I can come in and have my refill ready in 15 minutes and it's very low-key. They accept lots of insurance plans, and still have some generics cheaper than my co-pay. Friendly folks every time I go in there and some neat gift shop style things. There isn't a parking lot or anything, but I don't expect that in the main drag. Heck, you can park in a nearby lot and walk just about anywhere in town without too much trouble. read more

These guys are the greatest! It pays to patronize local stores like this as these people give service above and beyond your oridinary chain pharmacies. There have been times when I was so low on funds that I couldn't pay for my medication, but I was always able to work things out with them one way or another so that I didn't have to go without. Chris, the main pharmacist has been so helpful on many occasions, and so have the other pharmacy employees. Boulder Creek Pharmacy is a surprisingly good drug store, considering that it's located in a small town (pop. about 4000) and has no local competition. I've competitively priced my Rx's at other nearby pharmacies and BC Pharm has never been higher than any of the chain stores. So I get small town service at a chain store price, where they know me on sight when I walk in the door and have my Rx already pulled by the time I get to the counter. And most important, they know my pharmaceutical history well, so they can give me the most accurate advice about what I'm taking in combination with my lifestyle and other medications. I can't get that at a chain store where I see a different person at the counter just about every time I go there. The other big, but pleasant surprise when I moved to BC was that BC Pharmacy priced the items they sell in the other part of their store competitively with the chain stores too. Not only that, but their buyer has good taste (at least from my point of view), so I have found and bought many items there that I couldn't find at a chain store. Plus some items have even been significantly cheaper than the chains. Combine that with friendly service "where everybody knows your name" and you can't beat BC Pharmacy in this area. Highly recommended! p.s. I just filled in the "additional tips on this business?" section and I got a good laugh out of the last question - Parking, especially the choices of "validated" and "valet". It reminded me of living in LA for 13 years and actually having to consider such things when shopping. It's a big laugh here, because you can park right next to the front door or within throwing distance of it most of the time. First off, I live in Boulder Creek, and have been here before with no bad experiences, but I'd never tried to buy allergy meds. Clearly they feel as if it's a crime. I went in with a friend attempting to buy some allergy meds and get some cash back from his debit card. We asked the pharmacist about picking up some sudafed, since all we saw was off brand substitutes. She said there had been a recall and referred us to pure pseudoephedrine locked in a cabinet. We were trying to spend more than $5, to get cash back from his debit card, and the box was $3.49. We asked for 2 boxes for the sole purpose of trying to bring our total to over 5 dollars. the woman helping us said she would have to ask her manager. She said we couldn't buy two, and then I suggested purchasing one and then a drink or something. She went to talk back to her manager or pharmacist or someone... who came out fuming mad, behaving like a complete douchebag and said that we "looked like trouble", and that he wasn't going to sell it to us at all. We were both stunned, as we had been perfectly pleasant and friendly, and this guy had ZERO reason to be mad. We asked him if he was serious, he seriously came off so angry We both thought he was joking. He was exceedingly rude and yelling at us loud enough to attract the attention of the entire store. I realize Boulder Creek has a meth problem, but someone with legitimate allergies trying to buy sudafed sure as hell shouldn't be treated like a common criminal. I recommend staying away from here at all costs if you're looking for a pleasant pharmacy experience. read more

We have been patrons of this pharmacy for many years. For the last 9 months my husband has had nothing but trouble with the pharmacist, either the pharmacist refuses to fill the script for number of pills prescribed or the pill count is shorted. The pharmacist claims the directions of how to take the pills don't add up, but he doesn't consider the 31 days in the month instead of 30. For the last 3 times my husbands medication was shorted, one time by half. He received 15 instead of 30 pills. My husband called the pharmacist to find out what happened. The Pharmacist told my husband that since I (being the wife) had picked up the pills, that I must have stolen them. I take offense of someone calling me a thief, I would never take someones medication. I had been picking up my husbands meds for the last 5 years since he became disabled, this had never happened before, but it is consistently happening now. Buyers beware, make sure you count your pills before you leave the store. I do appreciate the merchandise the store carries, but will not patronize the pharmacy ever again. So instead we drive into Felton to Rite-Aid, an additional 12 miles round trip. So sad when you can't trust a pharmacy. read more

I love the Boulder Creek pharmacy! Considering the size of the store, it is very well stocked. It always has everything I need. Upon entering, I am always warmly greeted by the cashiers at the checkout counter. The employees at the pharmacy are always pleasant as well. The pharmacists are very helpful and informative. Never again! after a nightmare of a month I have transferred everything back to my local pharmacy where the staff is helpful, friendly, and understanding.
