Within seconds, I was approached by another salesperson who said I looked like I needed assistance - I told her not yet, I didn't want any help. Then a third saleswoman walked up to me, despite the fact that she saw me turn the first two ladies away. One of the same women then approached my husband, who tried to ignore her. We looked at each other and walked out of the shop. The salespeople probably work on commission which would explain their aggressive behavior, but high pressure sales tactics are a big turn-off. No wonder the shop was empty.

Unfortunately, the clasp replacement needed to be sent out, which did surprise me as I just assumed there was an on-site jeweler who could do small repairs like that. The set was in need of a cleaning so we added that to the order. Fortunately, the Representative informed me that the jewelry I was bringing in should not be cleaned in one of those ultrasound machines. I am so glad she told me that. I did not ask for an appraisal this time because funds were a little tight but toward the end of the year, I will consider bringing all of our jewelry to them so that we can update our insurance. They went out of their way to accommodate my schedule, which did not allow for me to pick up for several months. They kept in touch, as did I to make sure that my daughter said was well cared for until we could get there. Tbh, I'm really not a DIYer- I rather pay someone to do it than me buying a gazillion products to repair something myself. Tucked away in the scenic town of High Falls, NY, Rosado Works is a rare find in a region full of furniture repair shops- but many that don't work on small pieces. While those repair shops overlook smaller pieces like mine, Rosado Works specializes in giving these items (and larger ones too) the attention they deserve. Luis isn't just a woodworker, but a true artisan. He treated that one specific jewelry case with the respect it deserved, carefully repairing the worn look of it, refreshing the finish and bringing it back to life. Honestly, my jewelry case now stands sturdier- hell, even prettier than I ever imagined. I also brought a green painted chair with metal studs on the seat that needed one of its sticks on the back to be permanently placed. And while I tried using wood glue to hold the stick in place, that stick would hold for about a minute and fall all over again. So I needed Luis' help. Again, he went beyond the 'wood glue' because in reality, my chair needed more surgery than that. Just a heads-up: there might be a bit of a wait, as your pieces won't be the only ones on his bench.
