Then tried to charge us for the time it took to drive home to get fresh batteries. He was a VERY poor communicator. His first version of four appraisals, was riddled with errors, omissions and duplications. Never once, did he apologize or concede to his mistakes, or was he willing to meet to rectify them. He mandated being paid in full before releasing his report and when I asked "what if I am not satisfied with the result, and you have all my money?" his response was "You have no say in the matter. I guess I'll see you in court." Turns out this was prescient. I had to take him to court. I asked him for remuneration for my time, trying to make me whole after such a debacle and he said "that's not going to happen." When I called the American Society of Appraisers to lodge a complaint against him, they said he is no longer a member. Sometimes in life, you get screwed. Almost exactly one year later, David has 100% of my money and I have four versions of appraisals to remind me of a very painful mistake I hope nobody else makes.

It's only going to be up to the local committee whether or not they agree but the one I already paid for when I bought my home less than a year ago is sufficient. But I love this guy! I got his information after talking with Terry Marks, a local Margaretville appraiser. Like most appraisers she gets her orders from the main office in Kingston. She too returned my call in hours. Well they are using the same MLS sold listings you are and they know the market that's how they make money.We have to pay for another appraisal now and we are just because we know they are wrong. No RE lawyer or Builder or Broker should ever use this company, and I truly hope my bank never does again.
